The two things don't have to be exclusive. What the debate has done is raise the issue of palliative care, which can only be a good thing. To reject the bill would be to ensure the suffering of thousands that would want the opportunity to exercise their choice. There is much work to do before this can become law.

Just listening to the debate on the radio now. I understand protecting the vulnerable those that might be subject to pressure but little thought for the thousands that want a way out. If faced with the reality of a prolonged, painful and miserable last few months of my own life then I would want that choice. In my view the bill does not go far enough.

🤣, i wish I wish my African goose shooting partner would learn this. It's never going to happen. It's all I can do to keep his head down. 🤩

That looks excellent. A different way to use it too with the pies.

That's a corker. Great catch and nice to see it being well used.

Looks pretty good to me. Interesting to see the hide banking up from the floor. Might try that in SA when we get there in April.

This is an interesting one that I don't see around here (not saying it does not happen). Lots of damage at lambing time and certainly attacks and killing of sheep suffering any rot or flys but I don't think i have seen this sort of thing. That said we don't have so many sheep.

They are a menace by us when doing the silage or muck spreading but not seen this in floods.

Are BMA and doctors FAC suitability letters going overboard?
oowee replied to Dave-G's topic in General Shooting Matters
Not sure I follow what you are saying. The OP is saying the doctors letter is marked as unsuitable. The doctor is not asked for an opinion. The responsibility lies with the police. If the letter is 'marked' as unsuitable it would suggest that it is a decision of the firearms unit which is their role. If the doctor says he is unsuitable then it is as you say beyond the role of the basic process. -
Yawn. Just going over and over old narratives, more of the same old twaddle gets us nowhere. Surely we have learnt something from the last 14 years of madness? Lets get on with change. 👍

Get yourself a shooting buddy. Alternatively buy some banger strings.

What route? We already have cpo powers the proposal is to change the way that they can be used. For the last 14 years we have been moaning about everything and doing nothing as a result. The country needs to move forwards. We make choices. Empty brown land or more green used.

I would not believe what you have been told. -
I have dealt with more brownfield land in the midlands (West) than most. The problem for developers is often the cost of purchase not reflecting reclamation or change of use. Industrial land with old sheds on can be used for low value storage uses which give it a value above cleared. Add that to the clearance costs and it becomes prohibitive. If the land is owned by a plc they may also have the asset value listed above market value making it hard to sell. We need a stronger compulsory purchase process. It's something the current government is working on. No doubt another opportunity to encourage the rich to squeal.

Lidl support Ukraine it has to be a good move. 🙂

According to US legal channel, I watch, the time is insufficient with appeal and delay tactics. The same for sentencing of the felony conviction. Trump has threatened the Special Council Jack Smith (with the resulting threats against his person and family) but It looks pretty clear that he would follow through on the law if it were possible.

There is no option to pursue them for a sitting president. Shameful for any democracy let alone a so called leader of the free world.
-
I reckon they could be good for high seat shooting where you might be sat still for a few hours. The warm gear that we use is great when you are still but a nightmare as soon as you start moving about.

Now that's my kind of trip. The world is full of nuggets like this you just have to look them out.

When I was working in MK every acre produced £4m. Of this £2m went to schools, buses, doctors, roads etc. Each development had a requirement for social and affordable housing spread within it. LA's are supposed to do this across the country but it's not so easy when dealing with small developers and small developments. Too many competing priorities.
