  1. Certainly productivity in the UK is weak but add in the fundamental flaw that the success of the economy is based on growth that requires a continually growing population. We cannot afford a proportionally growing elderly population and at the same time increasing of benefits. Add in the economic contraction of Brexit (4%) the associated increase in energy costs (£370m), the need to significantly strengthen and restructure our armed forces, re model public services etc and we have the ingredients for a perfect storm.
  2. Whats that got to do with labour going to the US to support the Democrats? Millions viewing Donald 🙂 early voting does him no favours.
  3. They are good though. I sold mine back in May but having seen the latest China offerings I am likely to go back to another at this price.
  4. Whatever it says from China will probably be a lie. I cannot see the battery chemistry listed which together with the recharge cycles of more than 500 suggest its not lithium iron. Lithium Iron would have a cycle capacity over 1000 and is less likely to catch fire.
  5. I use one every year on my trip to SA. It's only 7 shot. It's a great way to get through a a few slab of shells in a morning. This year I am taking my own three shot.😁 The only time I will miss it is on Geese. The pigeons are simply too fast to wait around for four shots let alone 5.
  6. Kicked out and off to court would be my guess.
  7. I would agree with the sentiment. The hard part is if you intend to use capital to finance (in part or in whole) your retirement. If you do then you have to make an assumption about how long you expect to live. Or rather how long you expect the capital to last for.
  8. With a Russian rigged election in Georgia it looks like a remake of the Ukraine situation over again. The Georgian Dream party announce their victory in what is clearly an unfair election. Trump's pal Orban congratulates Georgian Dream on their victory before the election is officially counted. Violent protest cracked down on by Kremlin financed thugs looks inevitable.
  9. I worked out that you had to survive just 4 years to get your money back. My wife will be short about 21 years 😁
  10. I had till the rules changed. That said around £800 a year to buy it's one of the best investment / returns you can make.
  11. They certainly need to sort out their PR. They have a great story to tell with the work they are doing so early on but they are not getting the message out. That said this so called support for Harris is just not a story.
  12. Lloyd said when you reach retirement age you stop paying. As you said. The point I was making was that if you retire and don't work then you don't pay regardless of age.
  13. I have a Wimpey breakfast in South Africa every year in the drive up from Joburg to the hunting grounds. Unfortunately they don't do that relish that they used to have here in UK.
  14. This is a story about nothing. Truss, Johnson and Farage have all campaigned for Trump. Farage did it with Reform money. It's a classic Trump rant about nothing.
  15. Ahhh every promoters nightmare. I bet that agency feels foolish. I once did some promo adverts for Milton Keynes and the stock pictures used were from Canada. I had to spend an excruciating 30 mins in interview on radio 4 to explain why we had not used shots from MK.
  16. I see we confused each other. If you are not working there is no NI to pay. 'If you work - either as an employee or self-employed - and your earnings are over a certain level you pay National Insurance contributions.'
  17. The same could be said for Germany who also paid reparations, look how sorted it is.
  18. They are excellent. Even if i do loose them occasionally. They are particularly comfortable when you wear them all day with the felt liners.
