  1. Good point. It would be interesting to know how he got paid. Suggestion on the news tonight that he might be still involved.
  2. Try and get some kanga shooting in. All usual stuff here. Not continuing next year with Chair as have too much shooting stuff coming up so wont be available :-( Have a great break
  3. Lets hope that if it proves to be Russia we can carry the EU with us in a collaborative response.
  4. Close call Harnser good job you recognised it. I had a similar situation waiting for deer fr an hour on the ground behind a tree. When I came to move i could not get my body to move in the right direction. I was fine until I moved. Took a huge effort to walk back up the hill to the truck

    Fox hunting

I have nothing against fox hunting but I have seen a lot of what you say. Heavy wet ground planted up with winter wheat churned to mush. I dont see it any different from the sport that others enjoy with rifles. It may have started as fox control but not anymore. It does not take 40 riders and red coats to do that. Here the hunt rarely disturbs a fox as My neighbour and I stay well on top of them.
  6. We were out last night the most amazing amount of rain flooded everywhere. We stayed mostly in the car popping out between showers and still got soaked. Two rabbits Cracking night out there RS and great write up. Out in the hide in the morning but foxes Friday night.
  7. Another great result. It amazes me that there are not more bags posted like this on here (being a pigeon forum). I have a few excuse's in that we don't have so many here on the perms I have, I have other stuff to shoot and a good bag of pigeons for me would be anything over 20. Time and opportunity
  8. FH1 nice shot, pic is a great one. Babs we had a similar morning on the deer. Not every morning is a deer morning Maybe Monday will be a fox night?
  9. Why comes to mind? You can get a great lamp for £50 off the bay with good beam and run time , light as a feather. Why hamper yourself with a battery and pay the extra?
  10. Looks fantastic. Cant wait to have a go myself. I have a mate who is a cheff and arranged for him to show me the basics. He is talking about using saltpetre () and also making some salami.
  11. Looks a cracker. Mostly far better to keep the cars as they were built. Always tempting to go that bit faster but when you get there you realise it was just as much fun before. I had a car that on a friday night I would drive from Birmingham to Wales and back just for fun. It was so quick the roof used to peel back from the screen fixing. Eventually taking a sharp bend on the M6 the angel went off on the dash and I used the ABS over 6 lanes to stop the thing. I sold it straight after, just not worth the prison sentance or worse. Everything in moderation.
  12. Whats the difference between the two?
  13. Snow's just about gone here s just went out to see where the deer are. Spotted a nice group of Roe but not on my perm Waited to see if they would move my way but no joy. Nice to be out now the wind has died out and it's not so cold. Good luck in the morning Edd.
  14. Sad thing is in the past I worked with a fair few of them on a weekly basis if not daily.
  15. Sounds like a plan I would charge them for permanent residency and not just the £2k or so it is now. All except me for PM I wouldn't do the job for any amount of money life is too short.
  16. You can still stay A few extra billionaires will be a bonus.
  17. We need a system like this for UK it looks like a good earner for the country. Much cheaper to move to Australia.
  18. So we agree at last. Where we have control over migration, the controls do not work. As we both say the numbers are unclear and the regulatory control does not work to reduce the numbers to a satisfactory level (whatever that is). The loopholes are many and have not been closed. Lets take that one step further. Assume we have left the EU and now have control of our immigration. How can we have confidence that border controls (migration levels) will work when it does not work now in the areas where we have control? Some will say an Australian type of points based system would be most appropriate Great for skilled worker scenarios, maybe. Those protagonists forget however, that the UK is in need of many unskilled workers (not just seasonal) but for warehouse work, farm hands, care workers, construction, maintenance etc. It's hard to see how such a system could be written let alone managed in a way that had any significant impact on movement. Add to this the millions of EU workers that are already here that will have the rights to bring family members etc, just as the system applied to non EU migrants now ( as you suggest the loopholes). Some will say that we have enough workers in the UK but we do not have the incentive framework to bring them back into the labour market, as evidenced by the last 40 years of the economic inclusion agenda. What we are left with is a pretty porous border control system unlikely to have significant impact on migration. I suspect that a far more significant impact on movement is likely to be economic alignment as the once poorer countries of the former eastern Europe grow richer and the drive for migration reduces as a result.
  19. That's the sort of shooting you want in this weather. Sounds like you have the same set up as here. A baited field behind the kitchen window. It's the only way to go. I put out a couple of dead cockerels from the neighbor but fox had them when I was not looking so down to just a deer head now. Fri night is normally shoot night but nothing doing in this weather.
  20. I repeat for the hard of hearing or those with pure alexia. We have control of non EU migration. With that control we have higher levels of migration from non European countries than from within Europe. Your assertion that we need control to manage immigration is incorrect.
  21. you have to laugh. Genuinly the next year (or maybe ten) will be interesting to see how this stuff all pans out.
