  1. Surprised you have fields big enough in Guernsey to shoot on
  2. Not sure what you mean 'additional property band' but tax has to be paid on every property you buy over £125k.
  3. There is a big difference from doing something well yourself and being able to manage others to do it on your behalf. Very few in small business want to share and even less are able to recognise there own failings in management. Its a whole new area of skills. Huge upside if you can get it right even though you would have to trade now for tomorrow.
  4. So what are you doing about it? Write to Council and voice your concerns???
  5. Hopefully the count starts on Wednesday night. Bagsy on the sticks first . I have heard a rumour that the foxes can be measured? The largest red fox on record in Great Britain was a 17.2 kg (38.1 lbs), 1.4-metre (4 ft 7 in) long male, killed in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, in early 2012.[42] Happy New Years to you all.
  6. Great result PC and many more in 2017 I hope.
  7. Just back after a night out with friends up in MK. Get the kids to bed and let the party sart. We had a great night. Happy New Year.
  8. 70 is a great result well done. It takes a lot of effort to keep getting out there and we reckon we shoot just a third (?) of what we see. Just checked 2017 Countryfile calendar (thx Mum) and no fox picture, so definitely think you are in with a shout.
  9. You and me both Mine have been taken with the spotting lamp so only half the pic comes out. I was going to take some tinsel but I thought some might find it disrespectful
  10. Interesting approach. I find the visits cursory. Conversations along the line that its done to remove the liability from the police. Some of the land i shoot on is totally flat with footpaths but I am happy and the fao is happy if the shots are taken from an elevated spot so the land is signed off. Its on that basis that i am interested in where its not agreed. I am also told that where land is agreed for .22 then hmr (rimfire) is allowed as its in the same 'group'.
  11. Look forward to the pics but beware the photo standard is as important as the shooting Dougy Foosa and Foxhunter closely followed by Welsh Mike are showing the way in the picture posting .and I am working on the composition
  12. Has anyone had a piece of land turned down for a calibre of rifle? I am on a restricted ticket and have to check that each piece of land has been cleared. Whilst many of the places are there are still many that are not listed and need to be checked. Not wanting to get into discussion about the whole ridiculous process of land approval It would be interesting to know how often it happens and the circumstances.
  13. Interesting thread. I presume if you have a restricted ticket each piece of land would need to be signed off (for the multi shot) as if for a rifle?
  14. I bought a s/h Weihrauch with a 16 inch barrel. Its a cracker, very tactile and apart from the man behind the trigger super accurate. Ammo can be ejected or gently pushed to your hand with the safety on. Easy to manage in the dark.
  15. I have yet to find any boots that last. Time will tell on my latest set but at the price if they do 12 months i will be well chuffed.
  16. Make up a game carrier for your belt. Costs nothing and no one will ask you to carry their birds.
  17. As you say joining one of the shooting org's is based on much more than just insurance. The insurance on offer from the likes of CA and BASC was, when we looked at it closely, vastly different between the two organisations.
  18. Jeeeez he was younger than me RIP.
  19. Impressed to see you working today pretty drastic stuff there too. I wish i had a garage that i could get to to get away from my family
