Outside my lounge (about 4m out) is a wild flower bank which had flowers maybe 1m tall. In the middle of the bank a rabbit dug a burrow about 3 weeks ago. Three days after i spotted it the burrow was filled in and the rabbit gone. Two days ago i cleared the bank and the next day the rabbit had dug again and yesterday the hole was filled in. When i got home today rabbit is digging the hole again(mid day) !! I cant make it out how it keeps getting filled in, surely the rabbit wouldn't do it. I am trying to shoot it with 12g by the door and but its an elusive critter. I suspected the wife trying to save it but she says not.

Carrion crow is a crow. My dad had a saying 'A crow in a crowd is a rook and a rook on its own is a crow' , but i shoot many crows in crowds with rooks and many rooks on their own so i just call them all crows and list them as 'black' in my shoot record as opposed to grey for pigeons.

Currently available week day shooting, helping me out on a number of farms in the South Bristol area (Frome to Chew) Casual / regular shooting opportunity, mostly crows. Early mornings to early afternoon. Currently shooting circa 100 a week but no birds guaranteed. Out most week days subject to weather but initially offering 1 day a week (see how it goes) Require licence and insurance (evidence please) Expenses (circa £20 drinks / fuel) Fibre wad only. Ideally own decoy kit although I can help out to start with. Relaxed attitude, patience, ability to stay awake. Pm me if interested.

Diesel will be effortless to drive better suited to the auto box with less hunting for gears at low speeds.

I just got a naim musso wireless system (British) and it plays stuff off any storage via blue tooth or wireless. It's cracking kit. Then I signed up for spotify and the rest of the music I own is redundant.

looks like air rifle target to me.

I have a morso badger its 5kw and heats a room about 240 cu metres in volume (well insulated). It has an external air intake which I thought was worth doing as otherwise you have to draw cold air from outside into the house and then to the fire. Looking at the draught when the fire is running and the volume of air is surprising. The badger works well but the ash pan is too small and the ash riddle is pretty hopeless. Size is critical.as they need to be hot to run efficiently. A larger fire will take more fuel to reach the correct operating temp. Also the efficiency measures used to assess the stoves are a little misleading. Very high efficiency is achieved by keeping more of the heat into the fire when you want it out in the room.

First lot of pigeons i have seen this year !! -
I use full bodied shells. Light and quick to use, dry quickly dont carry mud and can be set up in trees and hedges. They did have feet attached but most of these are missing. I also use shells and stand them on stubble stalks.I have some FUD's but dont get on with them as they take time to set up, carry mud need two hands and are more limited in aplication. I have a couple of floaters and find they work well on new branches in the summer but later on in the year the birds seem to have caught on. I find that a large pattern works best, but of equal importance is good cover for the hide and visibility of the pattern from a distance.

AWESOME I WANT ONE !!

The wildlife you see whilst decoying is one of the great resons to shoot. I have had der wander through and often get a buzzard in to eat shot birds. Still waiting for that fox.

Very quiet in North Somerset. Plenty of crows though.

If your in Krakow make sure to do salt mine its awesome. Auchswitz birkenau with the anniversary would have extra impact. I go often through Krakow to Slovakia (family visits) they arrange Bore shooting and have a large hunting fraternity. Pigeon and crow shooting is mostly not allowed and interesting that I hardly see any. Boar even

Which do people prefer. I almost always sit but seems most of the videos on you tube have people standing. Maybe its because i shoot mostly crows and standing still for a long time is not so easy. Or maybe its an age thing?

Sitting in my hide back against some bales, after a few crows on the levels today. Saw someone walking far side of field then around the side towards me. When about 100m off he goes down on one knee and to line up on my deeks with a 22 live . I stood up quicker than i had moved all day to shout out a warning. Turns out he had been after some foxes and used the bails as a back stop!!! Phew.

I have been shooting a couple of times on request at a farm about 4 miles away and the farmer asked me if i want the farm for rough shooting. So i meet the farmer first thing jump into the truck and he takes me on a tour. I may have been there a couple of times before but within 5 mins i was lost in a mass of fields and hedges. 'See the brown one on the hill well we have the five to the right' I can hardly see the hill through the misted up windows but of course i said yes. About 250 acres of mixed arable and beef, should be great. Lovely farm and fortunately he had a map and said i can shoot the barns as well result all round.
