  1. Having a sort out of cartridges. I've got 17 lead loads that I will never uses. Some are gamebore 2 1/4 Oz 1s , Remington 2 1/4 Oz 4s , Winchester XX and supreme 4s and one Winchester BB £17 Face to face only Must have SGC Dawlish ,Devon.
  2. Thankyou black powder gunner. That's pretty much what I thought I would need. As a kid I used watch my uncle and friends seal the shot card with silicone , they used to work well.
  3. Whilst in the gun shop today. I enquired about the price for gamebore rhino . There was nothing on his catalogue so we looked on the website. No sign of rhinos on there either , have the stopped production?
  4. As motty has mentioned. I would like to load duck loads aswell as goose. I know factory loads will do the job just aswel but theres something about shooting with your own cartridges. Plus the price of factory loads are getting silly. I've always used Winchester Supremes , I've got a few boxes left but I don't think there available anymore. Drylock, nitro steel are too expensive , rhinos seem to be the only affordable ones . I've got 50 homeloads left from a chap up in Scotland. There great but work out expensive, So in time I'd like to make my own.
  5. Will be used through a side by side so roll turn over will be fine. Thanks for clip island gun, I shall watch that later.
  6. I could do that , I just like the thought of loading my own . I already load for my rifles and there so much better than factory loads.
  7. A complete novice to reloading so bare with me on this. I'm looking to start reloading for my 10 using steel shot. I don't fire a lot of cartridges so I'm looking to make batches of 20 at a time. Can I easily hand load the pre primed cases without buying a loading machine ( mec 600 etc) and use a roll turn over finish instead of crimp. ? Basically I feel I don't use enough to warrant buying a full reloading setup. Is there still hand tools available to buy to do this ? Many thanks Ross
  8. Thankyou gents. They should make good dogs. It's a good mix although wasn't a planned litter.
  9. I have 3 dogs and 2 bitches left. Out of hard working parents. I own both . Mother is a German wirehaired pointer is mainly used for deer stalking but will pick up all day long . Farther is a big strong lab used for wildfowling and game. Both great natured Pups currently 5 weeks old.ready October 20th. Pm for more details and pictures £400 Devon
  10. Yes definitely the European whitefront on the Severn. I've only seen them at slimbridge in the same area you have mentioned. I saw three on the exe in Devon over 10 years ago. Speaking to an old boy (gone now,) he said when he was a young man large amounts of them would come to the exe when weather was hard.
  11. I think they do shoot them. I've heard of severel over the years ,I've shot there a few times and members are always on the lookout for them.
  12. Gloucester wildfowlers get them on the Severn . Not many , if memory serves me right they get get a skene of 30 ISH that return each year.
  13. I hadn't thought of that . Thankyou.
  14. Good afternoon all . I've got aliitle bit of loose itm 5s that I would like to reload for a 410 , probably enough to load 20 cartridges. I want to give them a to mates son to use as he's getting keen on wildfowling and is going to be doing basc young shots days , is there anyone in Devon that could load some for me. Ile pay for costs and throw In Some beer Cheers Raty1
  15. A bit of a shot in the dark but does anyone have any 30 mm rings to fit Parker Hale mounts . I'm trying to avoid buying a new scope but no one seems to stock this type of rings anymore, I have 1 inch rings.
  16. I think it was put down error . But thankyou for your reply soon.
  17. Just spoke to chap. It's got strait stock. No cast. Cheers
  18. I shoot with one eye closed. I've checked my other 3 side by sides , there doesn't seem to be any cast on them either.
  19. Helo . Been looking at a gun online ,on the advert it say under oriant "centre vision" It's a side by side. What does this wording mean ?
  20. Morning. I think they pattern well up to 40 yard for shop bought cartridges. I personally use homeloads in either 36 g or 37 1/2 gram 1s , they pattern very well at 50 and beyond but stick to 50 as a max. As a rule though if I'm out after pinks then I generally take a 10 bore and BBB steel. If you think about though ,people have shot for years before the 3 1/2 inch came about and they still managed to shoot geese.
  21. A 36 grm 1 is an ideal goose load in my eyes . The gun might kick a tad more depending on wheight but not noticeable so. I've owned several 31/2 inch chambered guns but nearly always use a 3 inch load in them. Most of my goose shooting is Canada geese around 25,,- 40 yards and 3 inch 1s do the job I use 3inch kestrel side by side now.
