  1. “Claimed the platform as his own” 😂
  2. Hi Gerry Sorry to hear that but totally understand your decisions. Please keep posting and contributing always appreciated your posts and we need as many true Wildfowlers contributing as possible 👍 Take care
  3. Hope everyone had a great season on the shore ? All the best
  4. Beautiful looking Dog and Gun
  5. Hi Grandalf Your wildfowling career sounds like an amazing adventure and sounds like you’ve done more than most . You should write a book ? I am a few years off my 50th and where I once loved beating and driven shooting I can’t really get my interest back , I still love the shore and fowling but we definitely all change as we get older. Your inspirational still out deer stalking at 85 , 🥃 and I wish you many more successful and happy seasons deer stalking.
  6. Well done your call looks great . Does the book cover how to tune the calls and how easy was it to tune ?
  7. I do the odd morning flight but way more evening tide flights . The foreshore I shoot I know it will be quieter the closer to dusk , less likely to bump into tourists , local bird watchers and local dog walkers so evenings are when more birds are about and I can be more discrete . If the pouring rain ever eases , I am hoping to do my first moon flight in the next few weeks and would appreciate any tips from any experienced members 👍

Beautiful pintail , well done 👍
  9. Looking for recommendations for good red wine 🍷 to go with game over the festivities. cheers 🍷
  10. Good luck 👍 I would sort out a back up for Christmas dinner just in case you don’t pull it off. If your near Edinburgh your near the Forth so plenty geese about on foreshore and coming into fields so with a bit of scouting on the shore and watching fields you’ll be sorted. Scouting and getting out there is the best way . Good luck 👍
  11. Saw the first skeins of pinks yesterday coming down just north of fort William, Irish or Solway birds 👍
  12. If your interested in decoys watch Tales from the Marsh on YouTube, it features some fantastic carvers and their work is stunning.
  13. Cracking looking pup 👍
  14. Fantastic That’s inspirational. I really fancy making a few decoys and trying them on the shore.
  15. My old lab loved rolling in stinking stuff like fox poo . Always rolled in woodcock poo as well and the worst was a long dead seal 🦭 she found on the shore which she coated herself in , aroma lasted weeks despite lots of swimming and hosing down. I am not sure you can untrain them rolling
  16. They are absolutely superb shots , I love seeing black grouse , thanks for sharing
  17. That’s great history and really interesting to see the different types of badges . I was giving this Wagbi , Know your quarry leaflet recently.
  18. I love the charity shops and eBay for picking up sporting books . I am trying to find a copy of Nomads of the Tides , by Chris McCully and Ken Whelan if anyone has a copy
  19. That’s a real shame , he was a genuine nice guy. We met him at a coursing meeting at Swaffham , he seemed genuinely impressed that we driven down from Scotland to watch the coursing , RIP
  20. I have the Helen Baud wigeon call as well and it looks to have the similar metal piece as the one you posted.
  21. Beautiful sticks and love the laminated handle 👍
