I'm glad he tells you not to try this at home, folks, I was just on the verge of heading to my shed and welding 3 M16s together before shooting a few thousand pounds worth of ammunition at some propane rigged caravans with some dubious friends screaming "yee hah!" every time an explosion is electronically triggered

It looks like a bayonet, aside from that, don't know

Another Sussex joiner - welcome! Which part are you from?
-
Hi, are you from the good Sussex or West Sussex ?

To line a dish with foil, wet it first Use the hot water when draining pasta to warm the bowls
-
Yes, but in a shotgun not steel proofed, the choice is somewhat limited
-
I could shoot 1,000 lead cartridges into the field and hit nothing anyway Won't be shooting any ducks, then, unless I remortgage and buy some bismuth shot
-
A pair of ducks took off from a neighbours pond this morning and flew over my land, where I was sat with a loaded shotgun at the time. They weren't in range, I wasn't sure of the species but would I have been allowed to shoot them with lead shot or is that only over wetlands? Very windy today, pigeons, when I saw them, were going at the speed of sound

Small pistol primers in .223

Thanks, guys. Seeing as they're not mine I won't offer them up yet but I'll let my mate know -
A friend of mine bought a second hand reloading setup and it came with 1000 small pistol primers (as well as 1000 small rifle primers - he has a .243 so they're for me!). I've read that using small pistol primers in a rifle is a bad idea but mainly because they could cause slam fire - something that is impossible in a bolt action rifle (unless the pin was sticking out and I really slammed it forward, I suppose). Basically, seeing as handguns are *illegal* (for all intensive purposes), I'm not sure what to do with these primers if I can't use them for reloading rifle ammunition. Fortunately they're all properly boxed up so I can't get them mixed up (and the anvils are different). Apart from hitting them with a hammer to work towards a Darwin award, do they still have their uses? Can they even be posted to the US where they seem to have a shortage?

I've got 125 shotgun cartridges, 500 .22LR, 150 .223 plus the bolt, magazines and moderators from my rifles

Refreshing to see a story that isn't about immigrants giving you cancer

Thanks, chaps, I've bought some cartridges today so have plenty to play with

I was right, 1/4 and Full...
-
I presume these have cross bred with escaped pets or are they natural variations?
-
No harm done, mine doesn't have the original barrels, don't know how old they are (reckon the rest of it is 100 years old or so)
-
I understood it was .729", which is stamped on my barrels. Anyway. At least I now know which barrel has less choke - just need to learn which one to fire first!
-
I know measuring the muzzle with calipers isn't the most accurate way of doing things, but my 12 bore barrels seem to be 1/4 and Full choke - does that sound normal for an English SbS? The forward trigger fires the right hand barrel which is the 1/4 choke one
-
I'll get over my squeamishness soon... probably
-
True, but it's not something I've done before and I didn't want to risk prolonging its distress. On reflection, I could have used the air rifle...

Look for a Jerven bag - they're available but not terribly cheap
