  1. So they would allow hobby knives, not hunting knives, so if hunting is your hobby someone’s brain is going to explode trying to choose whether or not it’s allowed
  2. Except now you’ll probably attract people trying to read the sign - can’t win!
  3. Take the .308 and teach him a lesson!
  4. That’s certainly how I have chosen to interpret the wording, regardless of how you got authorisation whether paid or not, so long as you are authorised you can shoot under the terms of the GL
  5. If you haven’t seen breaking bad they are good companion pieces
  6. I use my for 2 gun comps alongside an S1 shotgun
  7. I got mine from Shooting Supplies in Bromsgrove but it was a few years ago and not sure if they still have them
  8. I’ve got a diagnosed anxiety disorder and on medication for it, told my FEO straight away and he was really supportive and happy that I’d followed good practice letting him know. The potential risk of losing guns was worth it for the diagnosis and the support I’ve had that has got me back to a good place look after yourself first and your hobbies second is my opinion
  9. This tree self seeded in my garden last year, it’s already about 6 feet high and I need to decide whether to dig it out or not based on how big it will get. I have struggled to identify it so hoping one of you can from the picture?
  10. Your daughter is really starting to look like you - even down to the orange scribbly face…
  11. Thanks guys, I’ll keep an eye on this thread so anything else can go into the mix it’s an independent QC carrying out the review so I’ll make sure to pass on the CP info - it’s specifically to do with social media use following the Lineker debacle so although it won’t stop him grand standing at live events etc it should clarify the rules around what they can and can’t say on twitter etc
  12. I work in drama with actors who have a similar habit of posting on their socials things that conflict with their role as known faces of the BBC - I’m not a journo or anything similar just someone who has to manage that aspect of the BBC within my department. I’ve been an active member here for years and personally know quite a few of the other members so rest assured there’s no conspiracy here, just an active fieldsports enthusiast who has read many posts on here relating to CP and his relationship with the BBC and having been given a golden opportunity to represent the concerns of my fellows to the relevant people wanting to gain as much evidence as possible. apologies if my reference to auntie beeb offended you, I meant nothing by it but a tongue in cheek reference
  13. Hi all without wanting to get into the whys and wherefore of the BBC and all the opinions that come with it - as an employee of auntie beeb I’ve been asked about the review into how social media guidance applies to freelancers and if there are specific examples of conflict. I want to use this opportunity to raise the Packham issue and am well aware of his behaviour online but wanted to pick the collective brain for where solid evidence is available and not hearsay or opinion. The angle I’m raising is the incorrect and inflammatory accusations he makes which as part of his role as BBC presenter will be taken as fact by many. to give an example, the vehicle that was burned out on his driveway which he claimed as intimidation was in the opinion of the police unconnected to him or field sports in any way and merely a crime that took place near his property. if you have a moment and anything that can be evidenced as incorrect please can you post it here and I can collate - I have until 12th May to respond thanks all
  14. I’ve had mixed results with 32g 5’s with a few birds coming down and then heading off again in a minute i needed some shot for a project the other day so opened one of these and found the eco wad a curiously sticky thing with a fair bit of shot stuck too it so maybe they’re just not releasing the shot very well? these were bought end of last season and properly stored so don’t think the wad can be blamed on that
  15. 3” chamber and 76mm cartridge - size wise it seems to be okay but didn’t know if there’s an extra proof for magnum or is it just the length that matters?
  16. As per title, I’ve got a B525 and I’ve been given some BB fox cartridges but they are magnums with a warning to only use in magnum proof guns but can’t find online what marks that would mean on the gun from proof, or even if they do mark magnum proofs? what say the PW hive mind?
  17. I wanted some Hornady SST 150 gr 308 but could only get 165 and so bought them but am now slightly regretting it as I’ve now got to work a load for a round I didn’t actually want! sidenote but TT and Dougy, I had a mate check my .308 with a bore scope today and suffice to say the inside looks very similar to the cross section of an Aero after rusty gun time a few years ago, still shoots okay though
  18. Great pics, I’m guessing if it does go over you get the choices of hunker down and hold on, try to jump clear, get splattered?
  19. Is that a free screwdriver/chisel? Glass half full thinking! Just don’t injure yourself with it
  20. Worked with her quite a few times, she was an absolute pro but could freeze the blood in your veins if you made a blunder. Rest in peace Auntie Ag
  21. To be fair Nath you have rather monopolised the emergency services over the last few years albeit mostly the medics so maybe the police were just jealous? How are you getting on with the fire brigade?
