  3. Thanks for the suggestion Falcon as it happens I have had it appart and the only bit that its hitting is the very end as it leaves it or as far as I can see . where about can I find this other quick fill mod as the only ones I have found are the original quick fill mods many thank again.
  4. The quick fill is a proper falcon one and I have the adapter on and fits fine shoots fine with that left on its just the mod its self thats causing the problem the mod is a SAK
  5. Hi to all I got myself a fn12 light hunter singleshot in .177 which I am very pleased with but its fitted with the falcon quick fill moderator which is fairly good on its own . I also have a extra moderator with it the problem being when I fit the extra mod the pellets are hitting the end of it and going every where is there a way of ajusting anything to stop this happening as it is very quiet with the extra mod and the only thing I can hear is the hammer hitting the valve ? So would like to see if anyone knows how to rectify this if it can be many thanks to all.
  6. I've taken a bit of a gamble and just ordered a new rifle will post some pics at the end of next week once its in .
  7. I have considered a single shot but I have to shoot at night to so would be a bit fiddly but have managed in the past so not opposed to a single just easier with a multi
  8. Thank you for the replies so far I have had a look at one and a quick go over and it seemed good and was not to heavy but weight is an issue for me now I need a lighter rifle brock would suit me well but have not seen one for less than £450 and can't find a falcon in multi shot either out my way my all in buget is £450 ish for rifle and bottle/pump .
  9. Hello to everyone after nearly a year out im looking to get back in to a bit of rabbit control ( looking = being pestered by my old perm's) I have been looking about for a few months now but theirs not a lot about with my limited budget until I came across a .... wait for it..... smk m22 yes I know it's Chinese but I never had any problems with any off their other rifles all very good value for money so I have found at least . what I would like to know has anyone else used one yet and what do you think about it? Many thanks in advance.
  10. Webley raider 10 shot new £400 with 2 mags and a mod .. good rifles .
  11. I don't agree with shooting hares as they are in decline and im lucky if I see more than three or four in a year . also have been asked not to shoot them on my perm not that I would anyway. Rabbits are by far more damaging to crops and land in general than hares as I see it and have experienced . in the right conditions you might be able to take down a hare with a sub 12 lb rifle but as said they are a very hardy and haveing had trouble with big mature buck rabbits(very similar in size to a medium sized hare) in the past at 20 yards with a full power legal limit pcp with near if not perfect shot placement and had to watch and listen to it screaming and going to and froe while trying to fallow up a shot or trying to catch it to end it! I personally wouldn't use a air rifle on hares at sub 12lb limits far to many variables .. pellet type used and weight, cal, rifle out put, wind, range and its a very hardy animal too! Just my thoughts on it I would rather watch them as they are not a pest around whey anyhow .. if I had to shoot them then it would be fac or shotgun.
  12. If they could fit a brick in it and fire it they would. ?. My rifles are .177 and running at 11.5 on blisley mags I would get it running on a heavy pellet at 11.5 and no more that way you should stay at a safe level Imo the difference between 11.5 to 11.9 just is not worth the risk for a extra .4 it makes no difference in real terms to range or accuracy or being able to have clean kills. atb.
  13. Had the fsb in a sporter can say it is really good and even better with the mod on should you wish or feel the need for it sold it after 3 months as I did not like the side cocking and got a new mk2 r10 bull barrel stunning rifle but a ...big mistake wish I had kept the hw .
  14. Xs 19 is a good rifle and so is the xs38 I prefer the 19 as its lighter and a bit more easier to point at targets from hides and you can fit a mod to it aswell ! both accurate with the right pellets I still use both which are in .22 out to 45 yards . I did strip both down to remove all the swarf from in side re lube and thats it never had any problems with either good solid rifles .
  15. Could be hedgehogs if about the size of aaa to aa batteries ?
  16. Domes are the only thing my mod 19 likes tried all sort but thats in .22 but found in .177 the fields where far better though any of the pcp's or springers !
  17. I do use blisley pest control pellets .177 they work really well in my gamo vermin stalker and aa410f seem good to 35 yards before they start to open up used them on rat's, squirrels and baby rabbits but my pellets of choice is normally jsb exact diabolo, or aa fields diabolo.
  18. Please read the post it smelt like this from the moment I picked it up (head shot) . And no I did not nick the guts and was skinned first, guttted and washed then popped in fridge over night all in less than 20 minutes. The following day it still had the same smell so I cooked it and the smell just stayed the same . I have since read a few articles about the musty smell and its down to the scent glads in mature bucks cause this musty smell, but I would not have thought it would have tainted the meat once prepped .

Hi I know this maybe not the right section to post this ... but have any of you ever had a really strong smelling buck rabbit I only ask as I shot one last night and it smells very strong from the moment I picked it up ... there appears to be nothing wrong looks healthy out side and in so have prepared it to cook . its been in the fridge over night after a wash but still smells sort of musty . my question is is the meat going to be any good e.g not very pleasant / tainted of this strong musty smell after cooking ? This is the first time i have had one like this . Many thanks
  20. Yes Dekers as it was coming up to a year or over now it sort or stuck a cord with the poaching post (safety).... I never really thought about much but was wanting to see if anyone else had a similar or same experience in the past and what they did ! I was new to the perm at the time and the for mention only shot every now and then ! the farmer knew I was out but the other chap did not know I had permission a lot of confusion basically and even the farmer did not know he was out at the time it .. so since then its been sorted with a fail safe as you can't rely on texts alone (who's got a text a day or 2 later ?) ?. It has worked well so far touch wood !! And yes we do now try and communicate so this does nit happen again but as the post I put up is what do you do to stay safe .... is a text anuff ? not haveing a pop just want to know what you do to make sure your safe!
  21. It does not really need a mod but I put the weihrauch one on the fsb I had to make it very, very quiet there are a really good as they are unless you feel you need one .. I got a mod because I shoot at night and felt it just make it even quieter which it did. All I could hear was the ping from inside the rifle and nothing else hope this helps.
  22. It's a shame but have had the same problems with immigrants on the broads netting stocks of fish and poaching rabbits , pheasant trouble is the law don't or can't do much other than take their nets and stolen dinghy or air rifle and their then back out at it again .with regards to the ops problem I would stay at it call the police when they are there and log times dates Do not confront them under any circumstances they are the illegally and you have had a near miss already. I would shoot it as hard as you can make it go quite for a bit and hope they go or better the police get them . atb.
  23. Thank you for your replies I thought I would just get your thoughts on this as it's just gone a year since the incident thankful there has been no more close shaves since. My perm is only 200 acres my others are smaller and I have sole rights on them . I do tell the farmer when I'm going if not asked to go and there is one other lad with a shotgun who shoots it every now and the but we know each other and never clash I always go after he has been and works well. this other guy is related some how to the farmer hence the have a word ... since then he has only been out on my perm 4 times and I, ve been told to stay off when he is going to vist but its always short notice nevertheless all seems good at present with the flag system as you move field to field unfortunately my shooting buddy cant always come (my brother) . Its was good to see what other people do to safe guard them selfs as you cant always rely on messages getting though ! lesson well learnt for all involved.
  24. Hello everybody I don't know if this topic has been covered before but I thought I would ask the question on the airgun forum as most night shooters who walk about with nv are useing air rifles (I know not all are) ... but after a very close call last year involving some one putting a round over my head from a truck lamping foxs...while I was stalking rabbits on my perm (I was laying prone in the tracks 40 yards from a large group of rabbits 100 yrds in from the field entrance so 140 to my targets from the road) when very quickly a truck pulls in no lights ... lamp comes on before I could make myself known bang over my head and downs a rabbit . I stayed on the ground and shouted out and flicked on my torch at which point the lamp went out they backed out and drove off down the road (no lights). I found out 2 days later who it was and had words with him along with the farmer he apologised and swore he did not see me (I must admit I would have been near impossible to spot ) and has permission to shot foxs on all the surrounding fields for a chicken farm down the road . I now use a small flag and poll at the entrance's in a easy to see place for them and others and carry a torch on me at all times . So my question is have any of you had a similar experience or not ..what do you do for your safety do you use reflective tops, or use flags or any think diffrent when stalking at night with nv ?
  25. Hello ben0850 do you have a budget im mind ? pcp need not cost a arm and a leg on the second hand market there aresome great deals or rifles with bottles about if you look hard or the right places. http://www.freeads.co.uk/uk/buy__sell/leisure__hobbies/hunting__sporting_equipment/air_guns/28588977/bsa-ultra-tactical-with-pump-/view
