  1. Is this any good to you http://www.sealscoveshootingground.co.uk/ only ever had a couple of coaching sessions there, but seemed like a decent place
  2. I've been hitting more than I'm missing so far, that'll do me
  3. I've been to the last 2 shoots mate , the F.E.O. told me about it , and yes you are right it is a really good do, the wife and kids have all had a little bit of coaching as well and it's a great afternoon out. My little lad (6) especially loves it, as he has won best shot in his age group the last 2 times . He'll hopefully win next time as well, he's the only 6 year old that shoots , although he did actually hit a clay last time
  4. Wouldn't have done it mate if I hadn't got it from a public website http://www.shooting.sh/new/2007/06/22/scottish-solway-wildfowlers%E2%80%99-association/
  5. For information for anyone finding/reading this thread, the Scottish Solway Wildfowlers *** does still exist, and the joining meeting is the last Sunday in June, took me a bit of finding out, so I hope it helps somebody Contact I found was David Campbell, Nursery House, Comlongon, Clarencefield, Dumfries, DG1 4NA. Tel: 01387-870699.
  6. Eggzackerly , the other big issue (for me anyway) is safety, you can read and research from now until next season, but will it really equip you to go wandering about on a Marsh/Foreshore safely . A little knowledge can be a very dangerous thing, especially when you are going out in bad weather, with fog, darkness, tides etc etc to contend with. That is something I don't feel that I would ever have the confidence (stupidity even) to do without someone with far more experience at least pointing me in the right direction, giving me advice etc etc.
  7. Thats true , does anyone know if the Scottish Solway Wildfowlers club is still in existence http://www.shooting.sh/new/2007/06/22/scottish-solway-wildfowlers%E2%80%99-association/ , I can't seem to find anything recent relating to it I know I could just ring the number, but I've just found that link, so thought I might as well ask on here
  8. Ye, I found that, my issue is that I'm VERY new to this business, and really wouldn't feel confident just trying to 'Getting out there and doing it' so to speak That's part of the attraction I think, lots of opportunity , just haven't got the knowledge to take advantage of it Like I say mate, I'm just lacking the knowledge at the moment
  9. I have recently moved to the Dumfries area and also acquired my S.G.C., I am keen to try a variety of shooting, having only done a small amount of Pheasant and clay shooting so far. So I have been having a read, and would like to experience Wildfowling, as I think it would be something I could see myself getting into. I have tried Google with very little success, with the the nearest club being 60+miles away . Sooooo, is there anybody a little bit more local who can give me any info/advice please
  10. I have just got my S.G.C. and my first Shotgun, if there is anyone around the area who fancies meeting up and showing a novice the ropes, I work shifts 24/7, so can be free at all sorts of odd times
  11. I'm near Lockerbie, and got my first Shotgun last week, so VERY new to all this business.
  12. True story http://www.ebay.co.uk/gds/Distance-Selling-Regulations-And-eBay-/10000000000140381/g.html I know this is from E-blag, but the information is still generic to private sellers
  13. Eh up pal, ye, I've just posted on your other thread , been doing a bit of lurking on here F.E.O. is coming out on Tuesday, so hopefully won't be long
  14. from another Landy owner, who hasn't been here long, and is nearly in Aberdeenshire
  15. I posted my application off in the middle of September, and the F.E.O. is coming round on Tuesday morning (15th Oct), so that'll do for me
