  1. Just picked up a couple of pairs as I forgot my work trousers on the way to fix my Isuzu, got to the farm and although the sun was shining there was a bitter cold wind! I'm very impressed so far.... Tedly
  2. Hi and welcome to the .410 appreciation society😁 I have a small collection of .410's and I also use gamebore 16g carts, very quiet and pack a good punch... I've just bought a hushpower and I'm shocked how quiet it is.... keep up the .410 good work... Tedly
  3. Hi all as he won't tell you himself!!! Browning123 is 70 years young today....... MrB life has been all about shooting and country sports and although we've only been friends for the last few years he and his good lady are more like part of my family... Happy Birthday mate Tedly. Oh and boy can this bloke shoot!!!
  4. Mate I'll have this please. Saw it years ago thought it was one of his best films
  5. Mick.... what the hell have you been drinking today..... Tedly
  6. I'm thinking of getting one for a hushpower, now anyone who shoots a hushpower knows it takes time to learn how to shoot it! It took me a couple of hours and 20 or so missed birds before I clicked.. I think I'll get one and try and fabricate a mount as it might help with the "first few shots (misses) until I "click"
  7. Oh very good... was that where we were the other day?
  8. God you must be bored without me MrB, sitting watching films all day... lazy ***
  9. Some of these comments should be in the joke section there that good... Matty please don't think I'm making light of your situation, my wife and I both work shift work including nights so I know how hard it can be as sometimes I don't see her for weeks and we're "ships in the night" we've also got two young children 7 and 4 so when we have got a night off it's not really off as we can't go out(baby sitters are not an option as we use them for work) so what we do is this, on the evening off the children go to bed and it's our time, the TV stays off, we crack open a good bottle of wine and talk about anything, this mostly consists of her talking and me listening but I'm OK with that.... I'm lucky I renovated a house and put a extra large bath in it so we could sit side by side and have a laugh, have some music playing and call it our business meeting time!! Funny now as we made some of the biggest decisions while in the bath, we also had fun which after 15 years together ten of which married is always good... I'm jumping here but I'm a very lucky man, she is undoubtedly nuts, and I'm not being bigheaded when I say this but she's very attractive, you know gets attention everywhere she goes etc, she's well above my league... yet she tells me everything even when one of her very good male friends tried it on with her and told her he loved her, she came home early (works night out) and was more upset that she'd thought she'd lost a friend in him, I do get a little annoyed but I don't show her (only because it's happened a few times and I know them, they also know I'm no push over so why they try I don't know) anyway the point I'm getting at is communication, communication, communication... this is probably not making any sense now as I'm on my 6th "blue moon" by a pool in Florida... Hope it helps Tedly Oh and please don't say "no smoke without fire" as I've been there and seen it, even had people try and get between us wouldn't mind but I'm 6'4" and 15 stone and although I'm very nice I'm also very well trained.... leave that to the imagination!! Ha ha
  10. Yes done the golden corral thing a few times before then regretted it when I tried to get out of my chair!!! Must eat more!! Keep an eye on the site, check it every few hours if you can, I got a deal two days later it went up to 550..
  11. I'm over here at the moment, for the last ten years I've used "car3000" although it's changed its name now but if you type that in then go on the top one on Google, I've got a jeep grand Cherokee for 15 days for £376 which I didn't think was that bad, I don't get sat nav or any extra's and I opt to fill up before returning the car as its far cheaper that way.... everything's easy to find over here as its just a grid pattern and everything is well sign posted... Hope that helps, Tedly... right I'm off to sea world
  12. I needed a vehicle which could tow my mini digger and 3 tonne dumper and take me shooting, so I was limited to a big 4x4 not a small one.....! I paid 650 for a 1996 Isuzu trooper 3.1 3 door manual, yes it needed a little work so I changed the rear springs and shocks and full exhaust myself for the grand sum of 180 pounds, yes it's a bit of a shed with lots of dents and scratches however it starts every time and came with two sets of wheels and tyres (off road/on road) plenty of room in the back it tows like a dream and believe it or not it sips fuel.... Best thing though..... Dropped a ladder on it last week!!! Did I care? Nope can't say that if I'd spent a couple of grand on one... Tedly
  13. I have one of these fantastic .410 which shoots like a full size gun... good luck with the sale. Tedly
  14. Awesome PC, enjoy your hols and see you when the real shooting starts....😁😁😁
  15. Thanks for the reply, I believe it does make a small difference, the .410 is tightly choked anyway and when I'm using it I put the decoys a lot closer so I do get birds coming in very close, the 1/4 choke is for them.... I have tried the 1/4 choke at distance but it hasn't worked I find that I have to take a second shot to drop them... I would and have used fiocchi 18g before and find them the best .410 cart however they're £2.50 a box more expensive than the deal I get with the 16g gamebore so I'll stick with them.... Cheers Tedly
  16. Yes but they were with the 12 with The right carts... you can take the **** as much as you want but you saw the crow drop at 99 yards with your own eyes..... Anyway don't you answer your phone anymore.....!
  17. Thanks, yes it is a yildiz sxs multi with 1/4 and full chokes, it's switchable so I can change if the bird is a bit far out, cracking full size .410 for the money, I picked this one as the wood is particularly nice, shot it on the high bird towers at NWSS and it was knocking the clays out of the sky just like my 725... Carts are plastic Cheers Tedly
  18. Thanks, gamebore 16g 6's Cheers Tedly
  19. Hi please see my post 410ing in the pic's section, it's a yildiz multi .410 and I use gamebore 16g 6's with 1/4 and full chokes, it's got selective barrels so I can change if somethings a bit further out.. I own 4 .410's and looking to add a few more as I'd like a Remington semi and a o/u and let's face facts whatever else takes my fancy!!!! I've not shot driven game with one but I would happily do so as with a little practice I've dropped pigeons and covids out to 40 odd yards stone dead and shot ducks and pheasant while rough shooting. Hope this helps, Tedly
  20. Hi all haven't been doing a lot of shooting or posting lately due to work commitments, however I have managed to get a couple of hours by sneaking off early and not telling the wife!! This was about a hour and a half sat in the next door neighbours farm, they have a massive corvid problem however she's fussy about scaring the horse.... Dogs....cats....rabbits... Lambs.... Mice.....etc etc! So to keep her sweet I said I'd tackle the problem with a .410, now I know there are many lovers of the mighty .410 on here and some doubters but I love the challenge of small caliber and with a bit of practice you can soon push the shots out to further than you'd believe possible, every bird in this pic was a clean kill some out to 40 yards and were stone dead in the air. So I picked my spot along side some silage bails plonked a chair down, parked the jeep next to me and put a few decoys out, the flight line goes across my line of sight so with the bails and jeep either side of me and massive nettles in front I didn't need a hide, it was a nice windy day with the sun behind me, great conditions. I shot 27 and picked the ones in the pic, some landed behind me in a mass of nettles so I wasn't picking them up... Not bad outing for the underrated gun....... Hopefully MrB and I will be back to normal soon and I'll be back with more pics and posts... All the best Tedly
  21. I managed to switch mine off in a few minutes after I reset my password...
  22. I've use them for the last few years, you'd be surprised how far they can kill, pigeons and corvids alike, pretty clean too. Tedly
  23. I have one in .222 with a heavy barrel, bought it new 3 years ago and I've got a s&b 8X56 on it, yes I had to order special mounts but it wasn't a problem. It's used as my foxing rifle as north Wales doesn't have .17hmr for fox, I could of had a .223 or bigger but I read up so much and the only bad thing I found about the .222 was that rounds were hard to find. I've never had a problem finding rounds and although I use cheap factory ppu rounds in 50g I can cloverleaf at 100 yards and only the scope let's me down at 200 yards as its a 8X zoom however don't get me wrong I can still achieve a 1,1/2" group at 200, I've read you can get better if you reload yourself but at this time I'm more than happy with factory rounds. I also have a .17 hmr and .22lr and I've got a .22wmr slot on my ticket and I'll have to admit that the .17 is my go to rifle for long range rabbits and crows but if I'm only going for foxes I take the .222, without sounding like a wimp the only thing I've found is mine has a walnut stock and a heavy barrel so if your walking far like I have too here in hilly Wales it does get a bit heavy, a good leather sling did help a little but I know have a rucksack type case which is fantastic. Hope this helps.... Tedly
  24. I use gamebore 16g in my .410... love shooting it and it's a great pest control tool, I've killed corvids beyond 40 yards stone dead in the air.. Tedly
