  1. You don't mention if you reload your own ammunition as this will impact your decision. 6.5 Creedmoor lives up to the hype and a 22" barrel will get you out to 1000 yards+ so you can strike a balance between range use and stalking - something like the Bergara B14 HMR would work well for you. Factory ammo is expensive with limited availability depending on your local gunshops etc 6.5x55 is a great caliber, loads of rifles to choose from, readily available factory ammunition. It requires a long actions though so more weight etc. This will get you out to distance as well, I don't know what ammunition for range use is available in the cal though. Remember to have a decent budget for a scope, do not try and save money buy the best you can possible afford. Keep an eye on the amount of internal adjustment etc etc Good luck!
  2. I have used two of those and to be honest all current moderators perform equally regarding sound reduction (with the exception of some of the smaller models which are there to offer less weight). I personally own the Wildcat Evo. It is well priced, well made and is manufactured here in the UK oh and the customer care is excellent. Just my opinion of course ATB Ed
  3. I recently started reloading and when I did I had a sort of mission statement as I did not want to end up buying loads and kit and spending more money. All I wanted was to be able to do 1/2 inch groups or under at 100m all day long, this was to be achieved with the minimal amount of equipment and time. It just so happens that I get 1/4 inch groups with sierra 69gr TMK's. I shall not be fiddling anymore as I just don't see the point! My view is make and economical round that meets your accuracy requirements then just go shooting!! ATB Ed
  4. I would have a look at the Bergara B14 if I were you, basically a Remington 700 built properly and around the £700. They have received good press. ATB Ed
  5. Hey Guys, A worthwhile competition for all you budding rifle shooters who want to stretch your rifles legs a bit! http://www.gunmart.net/competition/orion_firearms_competition Good luck! Ed
  6. I have been looking as well, and as far as I can see getting a 10 inch screen in the lower price range is unlikely :( Realistically i think you will be looking at 8" screens.
  7. I couldnt do that fasting stuff. I find focus and concentration so important when it comes to deadlifts and squats, I couldnt imagine being hungry as well! Still suprises me how much difference a good diet makes, I tried a nutition plan which gave amazing results but........£100 a week food bill was just unrealistic! Ed
  8. I have been doing crossfit for 4 years now and have ended up adapting it somewhat. I use suppliments as part of my diet, used to use my protein but now use bulkpowders as I like their complete lean mass product. Gas pollution has significantly reduced since doing this. Recently had a tailored diet plan to strip down from 106kg (as I had dirty bulked to get to that weight). Managed to get down to 90kg in around 12 weeks. Slow progress putting on lean mass this time. Its taking ages! Just seen 20% on bulk powders, i best get ordering! ATB Ed
  9. I purchased a Mossberg MVP varmint in .223 1-9 twist. Shoots very well with 53gr Hornady up to 62gr GGG FMJ, I managed to ring steel at 800m ot Orion Firearms training with the GGG. £640 brand new, takes AR15 magazines. You may well have to extend the stock slightly as I found it far too short (I am 6ft 6). It is by all means a budget rifle but it works, looks good and is something a bit different. There are a few chassis systems and stock varients to choose from as well and you can use 5.56 ammo in it. Worth checking out if nothing else.
  10. Basically it is significantly easier to get rid of non paying/troublemaking lodgers than it is tenants. You have all the power, one of my friends purchased his own house with a large deposit while at university and the lodgers essentailly paid the mortgage and covererd his cost of living. He had one trouble maker and he got rid of them with no problems.
  11. Hi Brodie, I had the opportunity to test both for an extended period of time. The CENS digital are excellent and almost act as a hearing aid for normal speech etc, as you can imagine on a windy day this can be effected somewhat but you can get some foam ear muffs that help. The passives are excellent as well and the custom moulds are by far the most comfortable around. Tested in an undercover range exposed to all sorts of calibres all the way up to a unmoderated 30-06 ATB Ed
  12. I am afraid I don't head up that way very often!!
  13. cal 7888, Regarding Impact airguns, a few HFT shooters have been ditching their kit and replaced them with an Impact airgun. That must mean something! I have handled their entire range and I would definately reccomend having a butchers. atb Ed
  14. Hi Billet, I have just got mine through and it took just over 7 months. I heard that they are in the process of training some new people up which obviously takes time so maybe the waiting time will stop increasing! Good luck
