My game dealer started making noises about this years ago, so I did the Large and Small game Meat course run by Lantra so he could carry on taking my Pheasant and Duck.. Anyone that has done DSC 1 will be covered for Large Game Meat.
I'm not sure how keen other game dealers are, but mine is very selective about who he takes wild game meat from.

So, what about your sbs then? Any chance?
Second dibs on the AYA?

Superb stuff!!! Well done indeed.

We used to skin fallen stock like that at the hunt kennels, although we used an old Massey.

Nice to see you back again TT. What load are you running in the 6.5x47?
-
Flash burns on bonnet. Bullet holes in others barrels. Holes thru the car roof. **** happens.
**** happens? What a stupid comment!
**** like that does NOT happen to safe shots!!!
-
by the way I live in Scotland where it is legal.
I thought night shooting in Scotland was illegal unless under authorization from DCS?
-
the Firearms Act means that as it has been converted to 5 shot it is now and will remain a section 1 firearm and you will be required to abide by any restrictions placed on your FAC. ie usage/location/open licence
The shotgun can be re-restricted and placed back on SGC, it just has to go through the proof house before transfer.
The whole scenario is a strange one, and no-one that I can find (even BASC) have come across it before.
I've decided I'll either swap/part-ex for a 3-shot SGC or replace the original crimped tube and get it re-proofed back to SGC just to be safe.
-
I converted it myself. I got the FAC kit (tube, spring, extended end cap) through a RFD mate and think it was around £70.
-
The only real issue actually might be conditions as it wouldn't be covered by vermin control and i can't see that they would grant game or wildfowl on a gun technically in the licensed format illegal for the purpose
Very good point. I recently got them to condition for AOLQ on my rifles, but doubt that they will have done the same for the shotgun.
Looks like I'll have to get it re-proofed and back onto SGC to be safe.

Those were my thoughts Alex.
Another thought was just because I have it as FAC multishot, does it actually HAVE to be more than 2 shot mag capacity?
-
I've been offered some wildfowling, which is good.
My predicament is.......I want to use my Extrema 2, as it's the only shotgun I own that will shoot anything over 2 3/4" cartridges and is steel proofed.
My Extrema 2 is currently FAC multishot.
I know the law states that you can't use any shotgun capable of holding more than 3 cartridges in total, which means I can't use the Extrema2 in it's current state.
However, I still have the original crimped tube, rod, spring and end cap, which if fitted will limit the magazine capacity to 2.
So would this bring it inside the law, or do I have to go the whole hog and get it reproofed and back to SGC?
Has anyone ever done this?

Dislikes are Jura, Talisker, Laphroaig
You dislike Jura??? Heathen!!!
Try the 16 year old, it is quite a bit smoother than the 10year old.
I've done quite a bit of stalking on Jura, and been to the distillery many times....heaven!

.223 = cheap to run, quieter, large range of factory ammo available most places, plenty of new/used rifles around.
.243 = a bit more expensive to run, a bit louder, large range of factory ammo available most places, plenty of new/used rifles around, legal for all deer if the occasion arises, the most adaptable caliber around in my opinion.
-
Where abouts in Warwickshire are you Ollie? I heard tell of a certain Warwickshire FEO that makes life difficult for new deer conditions as he likes to ringfence all the stalking for himself.....

Shoot one on an upturned rabbit yes but never two.
I don't agree with that, I've had many an outing with multiple corvids from an upturned rabbit.
-
They don't deem it safe though they deem it suitable big difference.
Spot on Alex.
It is now, always has been, and always will be, up to the shooter to make sure it's safe.
-
remember crows have incredible vision if you aint super well hidden they will spot you and avoid. 100yds is a close range shot at a crow
And when you've got yourself well hidden, keep still, very still!!

Dead rabbit, belly up with innards spilled out.

Nope ! Add me to that list Two pm's no reply
Does anyone know if he's a pro or just a hobbyist?
I have a very nice sidelock that I would like re-bluing but have concerns about sending it to someone that may not have the correct RFD, training, third party insurance, etc in place.

Have a look at the Continental WinterContact TS850 tyres, they fair superbly in all reviews, and transform the family Mondeo estate in the winter.

My sprocker is 5 years old now, and works as well as any other spaniel, of any breed, on the shoots that I beat on.
At the end of the day it all depends on what you put into the dog, whether it be a springer, cocker or a sprocker.
Put the time into her training and she'll turn out fine.
Good luck with her.

Barbour Border Wax Coat in excellent condition. Size C46 / 117CM. (I take a large and this fits me perfectly with a couple of layers underneath)
This coat was bought by my father to wear when watching Rugby. He wore it 6 times only last winter before admitting it was a little too small for him, it's been
hung up in a wardrobe ever since.
The best price I can find online is £199, so I'm asking £75 including postage.

They obviously had a couple of pages to fill, and nothing useful to fill them with.....
