  1. Be yourself, if you’ve worked for them for seven years they will know how valued you are to the company.
  2. As always with investing, fingers are only burnt or hands rubbed together when investments are cashed in.
  3. Fair enough, but with an attitude like that on this forum you won't get much respect. This forum is all about helping each other, and just to prove my point, Martyn was willing to pack it for you for posting and crazycooker was trying to get it delivered for you,
  4. I've got one £195 in Doncaster, might be a bit too far for you though.
  5. A bit harsh, he was only trying to help.
  6. http://www.screwfix.com/c/electrical-lighting/tv-satellite/cat830560?cm_sp=managedredirect-_-electrical-_-fconnector You need the top two items. Plenty of videos on YouTube to show you how to make the ends off. Either wrap in amalgamating tape or put in a waterproof box.
  7. I'd say £50 for the first hour (unless it's a quick job like resetting an RCD) and £30 per hour after that, and £40 per hour for the commercial stuff. The main thing is to set your prices and stick to them. It's no good being busy and not earning anything.
  8. Yes, I'm talking domestic, but even commercial and industrial still has its own hazards ( not necessarily asbestos).
  9. Well, don't take this the wrong way because you are a decent bloke, but the only person stopping you earning the same is yourself. Also, are you on your knees most of the day, drilling into hidden asbestos or breathing fibreglass in? Trust me, it's not the best of jobs.
  10. Come on lads, surely someone can help out a valued forum member.
  11. I'll second that. Can any of you lads give Denis a couple of nights shooting? He's given loads of stuff away on here for nothing, and I've benefitted from this myself and he wouldn't take a penny for it. I don't have any permission myself at the minute otherwise I would take him out. I would be prepared to pay a bit towards someone taking him out though.
  12. Discovery 3 alloys x 4, only been used for winter tyres. £160.
  13. Loose connection at the pull switch or pull switch on its way out I would say.
  14. I think you will struggle finding anyone to convert one to be honest. I'm guessing the chandelier is going to be lower than 2.25m from the bath?
  15. As above, I don't think you would be able to convert one. What zone in the bathroom is it going?
  16. In a word, yes. Never trust anything an estate agent tells you. I put an offer in on a property once and it was accepted by the vendor, I then got a call from the estate agent saying there had been a higher offer so I told him to let them have it as I wasn't playing those games. You should have heard him back pedal, I just told him I wasn't interested any more and bought the property over the road instead. Put your offer in and stick to it.
  17. They are just double pole switches on a grid system. The problem you may have is getting a cover plate that matches the sockets you want. They are there just for local isolation, normally when socket outlets are positioned behind washing machines etc.
  18. You really are are true gent, but i'm going to give you something for this. You have done plenty for me in the past. I'll text you when I am coming through.
  19. Hello Denis Could I have this please if it's still available. Please let me give you something for it though.
  20. Some good replies above, but the most important bit of advice hasn't been mentioned, and that is that interest rates are at an all time low right now, and there is only one way that they can go. You need to make sure that your rent will still cover this. Remember the interest rate was 15% at one time.
  21. Perhaps pigeons prefer pecking peas in Peterborough.
  22. Just get an alarm fitted but instead of a bell box fit a master blaster.People won't ignore that.
  23. I agree, Denis is a real gent and a credit to the forum.
  24. Not a lot to be honest, as you have said, clean all lenses and check for any holes that a insect may gain access. Check that all batteries are holding a charge. Check that all detectors are operating. Some companies may go to the trouble of checking the impedance of the individual circuits, but basically that's it.
