  1. If I have nothing better to be doing and it's an alright day I'm happy to sit, listen to the radio and relax. But my usual mantra is 'am I having fun?' If it's grim and no birds I'd rather be sat warm and dry.
  2. Underarmour is much better as a base layer when you are moving around a lot. It's primary job it to wick away moisture (from sweat) things like Merino wool are far better when just sat still. - same with socks.
  3. I have a Springer bitch at 16kg, she has a myriad or genes from usual lines, but her parents were slight too
  4. I hope to be doing my reloading hz kidderminster soon. - when the house contract Completes. Maybe you could do a joint trip in the future.
  5. 20g medalist Cz .243 Cz .22lr
  6. Just perusing youtube and found this, took a screen shot just for everyone's ease. Thoughts on the shooting positions during a driven shoot where adrenaline is running high? https://youtu.be/vr6hynpnb_gg
  7. They are named specifically under the caliber recommendations for 'deer' (the allowed to use forms of .22 centrefire for CWD asnd muntjac bit) so I'd saw definitely deer to keep it legal
  8. I think I'm right in saying that a full choke should get 70%(ish) of pattern in a 30inch diameter at 40yds. - so therefore if your using a 28g load in either a 20guage or 12 the results should be the same. (Please correct me if I'm wrong here.)
  9. Love my 20g, only shotgun I own now. If you want to shoot light 21gram loads you can, and if you want to shoot 32-36g you can(but with more of a kick). Just costs as both more per box, and light gun for clays, but you get used to it.
  10. Cracking gun, I've one which I have got on with really well.
  11. True about the asntyius, I had a scasn through some of their Facebook pages a while back and they really seem happy enough trespassing to disrupt a perfectly legal farm shoot. Google earth or Bing maps satellite, print screen okntyonword or Photoshop to add the pegs and beater/stop positions

    FLASKS

Cracking post, I'm in the market for a new flask too and now know what to go for.
  13. Prefer the shooting show for its week to week content
  14. Love my 20g medalist. - yup its not a browning', but its well built and geos bang twice. But if it's as 12g your looking for, the others are quite right I've seen a good few way cheaper
  15. Fiocchi TT 24g 7.5s (fibre) are a nice, and cheap, clay load for me - also fine on pigeons at reasonable ranges. Not too punchy at all. Also use Eley hi-flyer 28g 6s (fiber) for most other shooting. Bit more of a hit, but not horrendous. Although for pigeon shooting, it can get expensive if your out a lot. Shooting a lightweight 12g would be far cheaper, but I'm happy to pay as love my 20g.
  16. Used to own an older Beretta, lovely gun and solid. But I wanted to downsize to 20g sold it and bought a 'browning' medalist (fias).again this is solid too. - I came to the realisation that for 90% of my shooting I'm walking around, hopping fences etc so I dont mind if it gets dinged. - as long as it goes bang twice and fits me I'm happy.
  17. SOLD.. Harris Bipod for sale. - Well used, but still in great working order.- Model S25c. - Swivel base - 12-25". £50 Posted. - There are the usual knocks and dings of a well used item, and the previous owner seemed to use a layer of bluetack on the base to help it settle, which I didn't bother removing.
  18. I built this a while ago but never got around to finishing the arm ends to attach birds / decoys to. It's a 2 speed windscreen motor. Comes with lots of extra bits. £20 +£6 postage.
  19. For my .22 rabbiting I've got a plain reticle scope zeroed at 50yds. Like welshwarrior says, guess range the go with gut instinct. If it's further aim higher, I go on the notion that a rabbit head is about 2inches so if it's an ambitious distance I'd aim an extra half head width above etc..
  20. Just a quick one to see if any fellow shooters in the area above may have a bit of room in a chiller for a Roe. Granted nothing has been shot yet, but hanging in a cool outbuilding for just 2 days didn't work too well for me. Unfortunately rented cottage isn't compatible with even a small additional fridge. If anyone is local and willing to do a space swap for maybe some meat/cash please get in touch. Paul
  21. I've got both a 452 .22LR and a 550 in .243. The current triggers are OK, but a bit weighty. - I know you can get a kit for a lighter pull for the .22, but what about the centrefire? BUT ideally I'd love a 2-stage trigger on both, does anyone know if these are available. I've not seen anything obvious when googling. Thanks!

  23. I had to hang mine in a cool out buildfing for 2 days, left the skin on and a mozzie net over. Once skinned, the butchering was tricky as the meat was quite loose and much paler and wetter feeling too. Is this perhaps because it hasdnthung for long enough to 'set'? Any thoughts? - I'll be looking to find a cold store, or at least get the odd access to one.
