  2. Lowest calibre is 270 Depends how much meat you'd like to keep, it will cost £110 to shoot the boar and then on top you pay for the meat (if you wanted to keep any) so the top price of £500/600 would be shooting a 80kg boar and keeping the entire beast.

  9. Thanks all, really appreciate the comments. Hes only doing sit and stay, I've just introduced the whistle for recall as he started to ignore me when at a distance sniffing but he comes back instantly to the whistle. Hes 15/16 weeks now. Unsure what colour he'll end up.. would love him to stay dark, but dark red or a lighter apricot i'm not sure?
  10. Have you tried a dummy launcher? Sounds like a shotgun, they really can be lethal and hurt your hand, you can get different launcher blanks for different distances. Helped our lab as she use to get over excited and not listen when a shot was fired! Aimee @ A1
  11. Yes - It can be set to go off when barking on its own, and you can set it to just vibrate/beep or shock depending on what you want it set on. So i'll set it to beep, vibrate and then shock at a low level if she keeps barking.
  12. Thank you - we have a good electric collar that was used previously on vibrate when she use to bolt if she saw a deer etc, never used since. I put on her once, just on the beep, then vibrate if she carried on barking. It worked, silence, then she got use to it, barked as realized it would only vibrate and I felt awful shocking her. Maybe that is what i'll have to do, man up and give her a few low level shocks until she learns. The vibration she gets use to and doesn't seem to be bothered by it after a couple of barks! Thank you.
  13. Yes, the windows are blacked out, wide open and shes parked in the shade. The car stays nice and cool, i always make sure i check that so i know she isn't getting hot. Great, i've heard of those! Will look into it.
  14. Hello all, Thought you guys would be good to ask. I take my other halfs 4yr old working black lab to work on a daily basis. She sits just outside the office in my truck, a nice amount of room with a bed and water and its in the countryside so nice surroundings. She gets a good walk before work for 40 mins plus, out at lunch time for a hour with my horses running around and walked after work. Plus in between if i have to pop up to our other building through the fields, she chases the quad or comes for a run. Shes only left on her own in the car for 2 x 3 hour periods. She is excellent in every way, behavior and working but she has one problem, her barking. She barks a lot in general at people if they're by the house, her territory or when she feels like it, i think its as the other half praised her when she was younger for it. The older shes got, the worse shes got barking. She now thinks she can do it all the time, at work with me in the truck she constantly barks if she sees someone, hears someone or the bell goes which is a delivery driver (her favorite thing to bark at!). I can see her, she'll be asleep and then suddenly start barking. I have tried everything, leaving the boot open, no difference, every time going down and shouting at her when she does it and also tried the praising her to see if shes nervous as a trainer said that may help, no difference, carries on. Every time she barks, she cowers as she knows she shouldn't do it. She is friendly towards people and i don't think she does it aggressively at all. Shes worse at work with myself, not sure if she knows i'm softer as my boyfriend is quite strict. There is no alternative and she has to come to work with me until we find somewhere where she can stay at home for those hours. She can be a typical stubborn lab. She doesn't do it at EVERYTHING, some days she does it constant, others not as much. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance, Aimee

  16. We got our Labrador spade at 3 as we didn't want a litter. She had seasons at bad times and even when she wasn't in season dogs would try it on, it was a pain in the *** in general. We were worried she would gain weight as shes a typical lab who loves food. She had keyhole surgery which was £100 more and she was was herself in 2 days, apart from 3 little wounds she had to take it steady but back to normal work in 2 weeks! She hasn't gained a KG over a year later, it hasn't changed her whatsoever, in fact i'd say shes a better working dog. She has more of a drive to work as isn't fussed by male dogs or obsessed with other dogs as much now, she also now puts them in their place if they go near her where as before she wouldn't of. We also had our collie keyhole spayed at 2, all went to plan but she doesn't work 'properly' just picks up on a odd day - hasn't gained any weight either, both have lovely figures. I disagree that spaying makes their coats wooley, we always get compliments on both our dogs shiny coats and condition. I'd go for it. Find a good surgeon who does keyhole, its a much nicer way of spaying. Aimee @ A1
  17. Hi JBS, We'd appreciate it if you contacted us before posting as we'd do our best to help you out. Are you using our magnet or another magnet? We do often get problems where old powerful motors draw to much power and cause the speed controllers to fuse out. A speed controller could not ruin a battery, it is designed so the fuse will blow on the speed controller, but not ruin the magnet or battery. We are sorry you feel that you've never bought anything good from us, i understand you weren't happy with a hide seat you bought in 2011 but you didn't contact us until 2017 so we could only offer a 15% off your next order as our system doesn't go back that far. We do get great comments on our products and service, and if there is a problem which is the small minority, we always get it sorted as soon as possible. If we get ongoing problems we do our best to redesign or change a product but customer service is always our priority. Please do give us a message with your post code and contact details we'll do our best to sort you out. Kind regards Aimee @ A1
  18. Thanks Scotslad. She will fetch a dummy from cover such as long grass or anything 'soft' on her, but not if its thick bramble or anything she'll go 'ouch'... She will not go into brambles unless she can physically SEE the bird cold or alive, she wouldn't even entertain a dummy in bramble. When going for a walk she will loose balls in thick cover if they accidentally go in, she'll just run around the outside of the brambles flagging where it is, but won't actually go in. We lost a ball last week (those £6 ones) so going back this week to find it and I know i'll have to beat down the brambles and get it myself, grrr! At the start of the season she'll be so keen she probably will go in thick cover for a bird, but after a few days she prefers not too, even if i spend hours after one bird. She is a very modern bred lab, quite tall, she looks more like a lab x whippet as we regularly get told with her coat and shape. Her pedigree is half pet and half gundogs with alot of FTCH lines on that side. Shes very fast, specially good on runners and is a truly excellent working dog, we always get compliments on her working, but its just not wanting to go in thick cover that is her big weakness and we've never mastered it. She does have a 'search' command, she knows exactly what it means, sometimes she'll enter thick cover but other times if its very thick she'll flag where it is and a spaniel will get in! Luckily a friend has a spaniel that won't do long retrieves or runners but is excellent in brambles, so we work together on that one. One day i think i'll get a sprocker or a springer to add to the team. Thanks for all your comments, really helps!
  19. Our lab won't go into thick cover either, it drives me mad throughout the season as have alot of birds go into the brambles etc. Shes a fine coated thin lab, not those thick shinned chunky working lab but finer coated. Done tons and tons of training over 4 years with it, but she won't have it unless she can see the bird, she flags it there and then waits for a friends spaniel to get in. grrrr! Shes ace if they aren't in a bush or brambles! Hoping a spaniel may help..
  20. Hi all, Does anyone pick up with a spaniel? Occasionally beat a day on our shoot but will mostly be picking up pheasant, duck and partridge. A few people have said spaniels are more beating dogs.. Thanks
  21. We've had quite a few people over charge them with car chargers which is why we recommend a trickle charger. Some listings should have on them that the batteries should be trickle charged. Please PM us 'Me matt' and we'll happily send a replacement as you were not aware they should be trickle charged, that is our fault for not making it clear - apologies. Aimee @ A1
  22. No advice from myself but I've just done a quick google and found a few links. https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=449579 and https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/watchmaster.com Not sure if it helps but worth a look! Aimee @ A1
  23. Hi white flash, We appreciate your comments, we do sale thousands of these and don't get many complaints at all however I am sorry you weren't happy with the quality of the item. We are looking at making the next batch to include straps. Aimee @ A1
  24. Hi Me matt, Our batteries do have to be charged on a trickle charger, we sale the chargers for around £12 inc postage. I'm guessing that may be the problem. We don't get many faulty at all (I mean about 2 in 6 months really are faulty) Please let me know how you get on. Aimee @ A1
  25. Hi Whiteflash, Please PM me your post code and i'll see if i can do a trade deal or something. They shouldn't break! Aimee @ A1
