  1. If i had seen 20 in a year I would change my tune. Oowee It’s all about balance at the messy end of consversation but the hare does have a certain cocky stance!
  2. Walker570 -picking up some cartridges from Morgan Tomorrow where you based could possibly drop it off on the way Up. I would have it myself but I am not a gentleman sos side by sides don’t work for me !
  3. IIRC the C was a funny one it took us a while It is high and fast and a way up on bank . Our take was that the point you lock on it’s at full tilt but as it’s a midi it hasn’t got inertia to keep going at that speed So starts dropping so everything points to over leading it which usually goes against the tower ( if you miss you haven’t given it enough lead so add some more ). as I mentioned high incomes are not my favourite ms but even I was chuckling to myself on that stand . mite a blinking good clay stand in a to notch clay ground Agriv8
  4. Oh my flippin life - GG that is stunning I admire your work but that’s another level how many hours did it take to get that ! composition/ colour / reflection all 12 out of 10 ! atb Agriv8
  5. That’s the one R_Hawlwy - thank you for posting from my write up from our visit on Monday is on page 1 on this thread ! we had fantastic fun on Monday - A, B and C are from the scaffold D and E the cherry picker C and E were the midi’s IIRC ! The E took some working out and the spec’s had to go on so I could see it ! Can I ask why you estimated the distance ( height ) was to the scaffolding and the cherry picker traps ? not sure I have ShotKam footage as I think I ran out of battery. But for those in the know was clean breaking em with 28g 8s fibres though Muller U1 and U2 in my 725 sporter ! Thanks Again - regards Agriv8
  6. Scully will stand by the following if you enjoyed the old grouse but you will love the new ones Ps shooting glasses and a hat are a must for self preservation unless you smoke em all like me ( in my dreams I do anyway) Agriv8
  7. Sculls Yes and no ! the original ( facing the tower ) towards centre has gone - due to noise complaints with a few stands ‘down the bottom ‘ It been replace by two simulated grouse stands to the right of the road as your about to enter the shooting ground. 1 is normal grouse and the other is fast grouse. both have now got a real grouse presentation and even the echo zing if using a side by side. we usually finish up down on these and if we’re ‘on it’ shooting left and right as pairs separates the men from the boys ! 8. So my shooting buddy and I shot the Swinton estate yesterday our regular ground is Coniston, but we also like Thimbleby as a treat. so as a quick feedback we shot 180 clays on the card plus a couple of coffees came to £50 we took a couple of shots at some of the game presentation so all in all shot just under a 100 carts each ( all red of course) we steered away from the compaq stands and anything we hit straight of we moved on. Swapping first man in between stands. No scoring as this was what we call having a laugh shooting! My pal and I have both hit the 1/2 century so rather than a bottle of whisky or another shooting flask we decided that each year we would celebrate ( not joining satan and his friends ) by visiting a new ‘Top Quality Shooting Ground’ Swinton hit this requirement head on 10/10. The lodge was small but it’s a relatively new ground the staff were welcoming and took one of our SGC’s in exchange as the of a clay card. all the stands were pristine and a printed sheet gave you indicated presentation of blue easy. Red intermediate and black hard our first comment to was that hardness all depends on shooters achilleas heal ( mine high incomers , shooting buddy long high rolling teals ) but this is a very VERY minor issue it did giv an indication of where the clay was coming from ( as most traps were obscured! ) there was a good mix of incomers crossers and everything in between and this takes me onto a stand out positive of this ground which is most stands there are not clays being presented to other stands in you peripheral vision and they use topography to confuse the that’s a given easy clay was far from it with us more than once scratching our heads and working together on how to get a kill ! As pointed out above 75 clays would have seen us shoot at everything apart from compaq so enough to keep you going all day if you wanted to take your time. the stand out stand for us both was the tower high incomer for me because I generally struggle and my pal as he is getting to grips with his new ( 110 year old Thomas Bland ) after swapping from his over and under so after nipping back go a few more shells (very very bright red & as we were definitely stopping at 75 !?! ) it was game on The A, B andC we’re driven of scaffolding up the banking so a guess elevation of 30 yards up and 25 to 30 yards back A and B were soon being taken cleanly after a bit of getting one’s eye in ! C was similar but a midi so launched at speed and did take some adjustments after the A and B so now the real fun D and E were from a cherry picker above the scaffolding ( they were crossed out on the stand map )D was a normal clay that I could not see and E was a midi that set off like a missile. So I donned the spectacles and by the time we finished there was us and two other shooting pairs’ comparing notes and having a giggle this was another positive for us we are all for respecting others while they shoot but happy to exchange pleasantries with fellow shooters offer encouragement and the odd joke ( usually our own expense) to sum up will we go back ‘ yes’ that’s a given but not sure I could warrant paying more than the Monday special prices when somewhere like Thimbleby is a very close competitor ( sorry I am just a tight ***** a Yorkshire Man ) . Make sure you eat before you go or take some grub if you are going to spend some time there. But as a special treat or if you don’t fall into tight Yorkshire man category go fill your boots I am almost sure you will really enjoy the ground and the shooting. Well done Churchills at Swinton as exchanging notes with fellow shooters on the day you have been classed as the premier ‘ Premier ‘ shooting ground of the north for us The fact we had 1 no bird on a 180 clays is another amazing achievement. I have not downloaded my shotcam footage but will stick a few stands up if I get chance ATB Agriv8
  9. Happy for slab of either if you happy to split! thanks Agriv8
  10. Are you open to splitting? I only use 10 or 20 most shoots so don’t recon I need 1750 - I am down Telford at weekend visiting the dragon! Agriv8

So the hospital our two where born at is just over Lancashire Yorkshire boarder in the good old days there are stories of ladies about to calf crossing there legs so that there child was Yorkshire Born. Ps my shooting pal mum was a mid wife there for 30 years and seen this first hand. The problem I have with this is that there are two sides to the storey and things were said in different times. I am not condoning racism but my old Nick name at work would no longer allowed to be used as it could be derogatory. One of my best gaffers at work was Asian while working up through the ranks we worked shifts it used to get stressful - we would often swear at each other using terms that in this day and age would probably get us both sacked. Something that we both still have a giggle at when our paths cross today and he still a gods freind ! If it’s gone on that’s not right if it’s still going on it needs to stop but sledding in cricket ain’t a new but it needs to be put in context! atb Agriv8
  12. No I don’t but I a rarely without a belt or a sock that I would sacrifice if the need arose. I know these are not perfect but if a dogs or persons life depended on it I recon it would work. I do carry a small first aid kit in my game bag bandages and dressings ! atb Agriv8
  13. No problem- I have to add I won’t take hares on my perm as there aren’t the numbers there used to be ! told the farmer and he was more the happy with my decision. From my evening walks with the thermal and ir I am hopeful that a few more have survived this year so might make a bit of a comeback!
  14. She retired as turning up at primary school teacher looking like she’d been in a bar brawl not the best first impression ! Switched to footie instead
  15. Walked up - I hope the sharing has reduced the need for further expense in therapy! your account has brought humour to a situation where grown men can consider ending it all and personal climbing over the gates to see satan himself a few years all they want is the latest iPhone ( 14 and 11 years mine ) and access to WhatsApp and utube. The joys of parenting! Agriv8
  16. Mrs Agriv8 played for her uni many years ago. Rougher than the mens game in some respects - I remember a nasty semifinal match one where the two captains squared up after a high tackle on our winger ‘ nick named the Gazelle’ . ref got punched iirc by one of there players and the lads game stopped on the pitch next door so they could watch 3 point in it by the final whistle. captains made up within 5 mins of whistle and all got sloshed in uni bar !?! Mrs Agriv8 will be watching it later on catch-up maybe Agriv8
  17. I know - I ain’t even got the talent to hit a flipping clay at 25 yards !?!? to add - you have the subject caught spot on - that look that a hare has just before they bolt ( for those snipers among us just as you knock the safety off and you have it in your cross hairs) Need some high res photos when you done . If it’s a commission price there going to be one very happy owner ! Agriv8
  18. Flipping heck is the best that might not get stuck in the swear filter ! that is a fantastic work of art ! you are one talented fella ! Agriv8
  19. Ah now I have heard of them ! BBMF - they would definitely use red cartridges paper 1oz paper no 6 - with an eley kynock ( smokeless) stamped on em. and they would definitely smell different! atb Agriv8
  20. So TC who is :- I think I should approach the BBMF as well Are they your sporting agents who handle your press coverage and engagement and endorsement portfolio. Best British Media Facility? ps rabbi skeet not hit Yorkshire yet AFAIK but me and shooting pal are finalising plans for a Churchill’s ripon visit Monday if we can swing it ! Agriv8
  21. Landrover is now a luxury brand the the vehicle that started it all no longer fits in its portfolio of luxury Chelsie tractors a shame but I still like both old and new ! Agriv8
  22. I like em but I am weird! Jlr product placement at its best most will have been fully caged internally as well ! atb Agriv8
  23. There are a number of calculators on line to compare two sizes. A small difference is negligible. my van be fitted with 15 inch or 16 inch rims from ford both use a 225 55 tyre but this does not require Speedo calibration change apparently ( my summers are 16 in alloys ) winter mud and snow are 15 in steels that’s will be going on now the temps started dropping! just a final word of warning ensure you check the et dimensions usually stamped somewhere. This is the offset Of the rim ! Probably not an issue if you are picking up steels from an older generation vehicle! again google can give you a visual idea on et atb Agriv8
