  1. Confused me TC

Mrs Agriv8 is aware of both the cartridge stash locations but as they are only a £1 per box is aware of their true market value !

as for the number of reds I still have a few knocking about but gave up counting them as currently enjoying using the 16bore side by side nice and quick for the partridge!

I am bit disappointed with some black ones in 12 as they seem to be leaving a lot of un burnt powder in the barrels but these are quad seals but have been fantastic for pest control duties and were cheap over runs so can’t complain.

Been there. Seen it. Done it. Still got the scars.

This type of situation is not new. Many moons ago, with others, including one of the major consultancy houses, in my then employment we installed a new financial system  on new platforms. This meant parallel running was not possible. Therefore, End to end testing and cradle to grave testing was rigorous. Despite this, four days after Go Live the system fell over. Reconciliations were picking up transaction errors. But no individual or organisation had been adversely affected. It was a systems problem.
When the dust settled we were able to demonstrate that while no cash had gone missing, numerous heads of charge had not been correctly debited / credited, including suspense accounts.

Systems failures do happen but it is how they are managed that counts. It seems to me that between them the PO and Fujitsu must have known from the beginning of the roll out that things were not right. That they thought the could manage it, but when that became impossible decided to blame others and cover up their problems.

Bobby your thoughts are Backed up by a report here !

I started talking to my wife. I didn't realise that she had finished working in Woolworth.

I had started to notice that the level of cleanliness around the house was not up to scratch on raising the subject - I was requested to go and count my red cartridges !

are we going to see this explode ..with people going to jail.............or is it all going to be pushed under the carpet  as a result of "not proven"

  6. My take is they don’t think they are above the law but they have enough money to make sure they make it very difficult to be prosecuted so almost untouchable.

morality and legality are two words that some of those on the list should understand.

  8. My knees are broken there are two types of steroid injection afaik

joint to be done with ultrasound which allows them to inject into the joint

soft tissue which is usually applied to soft bit at the rear of the knee.

i have had several of the latter for arthritis and usually gives me 6 months of relief  . I get a lecture on body weight my bmi is arround 26 ! But as the doctor says it will keep me going until a point where knee replacement is only option!

I usually start thinking about booking an injection when my knee wakes me up In the night!

Surely anyone who knowingly gave false auditing results leading to convictions could be convicted for perverting the course of justice.

You would have thought so but those that ran the report were looking at the same records that were incomplete and inaccurate. Several lawyers who were payed by the post office to convict sub postmasters had doubts but conveniently when they got called in front of the committee managed to have a correct answers or had forgotten

i take a point about bugs in software but the management and software suppliers spent millions rather than taking a look at there own systems and processes and auditing them.

Not in this case as :-

It was not privatised until about 2015

It happened mainly under Blair's government who introduced the software in 2000.

Done by tender IIRC  and vendors likely picked because they were the cheapest Fujitsu at the time had a policy to bid low and increase prices to cover any change to the contract AND MAKE PROFIT that way - no support that it blew. It’s budget then released full of bugs!

  10. In simple form I would  like to be able to elect 3 family or friends the right to allow me to be switched off if they all agreed that I was in pain and having no quality of life.  if I am able to communicate I will tell them when to sign the form if I can’t I trust them all with my life 2 of them stand very close to me with guns the other is the wife of 20 years.

this is nothing to do with the state or the nhs trying to switch me off when the time comes.

edit to add if any of my organs can keep someone else alive then this is an added bonus !

  11. The other side of the coin is we can not do anything about those killing themselves through drink and drugs !  but the health service has to pick up the bill!

give people the opportunity to die with dignity my parents have made it clear that they are happy for there 3 off spring to decide if they have any quality of life.

i have watched closely the father in law be taken by brain cancer ! In 8 months went from senior captain of the golf club to lying in a hospital bed screaming in pain and panic!

Sorry but with the correct safe guards why should i not be allowed to decide?
