  1. I've no issues with the fit of the gun. I was in no hurry to buy. I have a good relationship with my local gun dealer and he knew exactly what I was looking for. Tried many guns before buying the miroku. It's just after a long day on the clays it's a little unforgiving. A couple of inperfect gun mounts and it leaves a mark. Thanks for the advice lads. I'll check out the kick-eeze pads.
  2. Traded my lanber in for a Miroku mk70 last year which I use for clay shooting, sporting and DTL. I love the Miroku and am shooting well with it. But after a days shooting my shoulder is feeling it. It only has a slim solid plastic heel plate, so want to get a proper recoil pad. Would like to know peoples preferences, make, thickness. Also what do you think of the mechanical recoil reducers. obviously you would have to cut off a good bit of the stock to install them. would this devalue my gun as some people might see them as gimmicky? any advice would be much appreciated. I might just add I won't be doing any instalation my self , I'll put it into the local gunsmith. Thanks Struan.
  3. What the video dosn't tell you is that he's probly using 50g of no9 shot.
  4. Got 250 to see what they were like and was very pleased. Very hard hitting was dusting clays all day. They are the SPORT 28s in 71/2, was using them for sporting through 3/4 and 1/4 chokes. Don't have a bad word to say about them and they were very clean through the barrels aswell. Won,t be spending 200 euro on 1000 T3s anymore,
  5. Any one used Bornaghi cartidges? Can get them for good price at the moment here in Ireland, 160euro per 1000. Normally get Diana T3's but suplier got a batch that were damp so he's not gettin them no more.
  6. When practising I always use full and half. I believe this helps with acuracy, some of the lads I shoot with always practice with extrafull in both. When shooting in a competitive situation I always change down too 1/2 and 1/4. This works for me. But each to thier own. I shoot DTL, ABT and sporting with a Miroku Mk70 sporter. 30".
  7. Hi ferret master. This is only for the AYA yeoman sbs. If you detatch your barrells and hold them rib down with the barrells running out to your left, the mark should be in the bottom left corner of the flats as you're looking at them. This is where it is on mine. Sorry but this is the only way I can explain it. I would show you pic but can't upload from my photos. Don't know why. Any Ideas anyone? Also on the underside of the each barrell just in front of the flats there will be stars stamped. These indicate how each barrell is choked. For eg. mine is right barrell *** =1/2 choke left barrell * =Full choke Hope this helps sorry if a bit confusing. Happy Hunter
  8. Sorry having problems uploading photos
  9. Hi E Elvis. The yeoman is a great gun, have one myself. Are you sure it's 1978 looks older due to the loss of the hardening colour on the action. mine is a 1979 and still has a lot of colour. If it's a 1978 it should have the symbol x1 stamped on the barrell flats. O1=1970 P1=1971 Q1+1972 R1=1973 S1=1974 T1=1975 U1=1976 V1=1977 X1=1978 (Don't know why they skipped W1) Y1=1979 Z1=1980 This is mine. Looks a lot different now. I removed the gastly varnish and oiled the stock. will get up to date pics later.
  10. Hi all. I started shooting at the age of 12 with a 410 s/b/s by the age of 14 I progresed to a 12b s/b/s. Shooting mainly rabbits pigeon and corvids. When I was 18 I left Scotland for Sothern Ireland and I'm still here at the age of 27. 4 months ago I apllied for a shotgun licence which I'm happy to say was granted only three weeks later. I got a 1979 AYA yeoman s/b/s , in amaculate condition and choked 1/2 and full. Its the first gun I have owned myself the two previous were my farthers. I am delighted with it. It fits will and i'm doing very well with it. A budy of mine is on the comitee of a local clay club and asked me to come along one day for a try. So I did. Having never shot at "pretend " birds before I didn't know what to expect. In the end I had a great day and payed the membership fee. There were a few sniggers and mumbles as I took my side by side out its slip. but after scoring 32 on my first ever go at DTL out of a possible 45 the sniggers ceased. although I feel I shot well with my AYA I don't think it is up to the job in regards of firing 150 rounds a day. I'm looking to invest in a second gun for clays. My budjet is about 700 euro which is about £500. I want a good reliable gun which I can also use for pigeon. Any advice would be much aprieciated. What make? Multichokes? 28" or 30" barrels? this type of shooting is all new to me. HELP!!
  11. Good shooting John. Just wondering what that plastic thing attatched to the underside of your barrel is?
