  1. I've got an SX3 too and it's just the dogs' ! I won't ever part from it,that's for sure!
  2. It seems a good suggestion, doesn't it? ( read your 'reckon' as 'suggest'. My sincerest apologies )
  3. How about some decent infrastructure?
  4. No,that was the Scottish independence referendum.
  5. Them IDF women are gorgeous! 😊
  6. OK, fair enough.I wasn't completely right there. But you have to admit that NF wherever he spoke was going on about how the money could be spend on our own services and institutions instead of paying it into the EU.He might have not lead the campaign, but to many people he was the face of the campaign and believed everything he said.and that's what the majority voted on. Now we'll see what will bloom from this now NF and the other clown BJ have jumped ship.
  7. It wasn't just an allegation. He was backpedaling on claims he made during the campaign . the old game of lie and deceive. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/brexit-eu-referendum-nigel-farage-nhs-350-million-pounds-live-health-service-u-turn-a7102831.html
  8. I think the loon drank a wee bit too much of the stuff when he was spouting his drivel.
  9. I wouldn't wonder if I knew.
  10. Did the same not happen during the Brexit campaign when Farage said that money that went to the EU would be used for the NHS (remember the bus?) . A lot of ignorant stupid folk fell for that huge lie as well. I wonder why England is so desperate to keep Scotland in the union...
  11. It was the weather that drew me to Scotland! Seriously, my partner is Scottish and it was more practical for me to quit my job in NL and move over here than her quit hers and move over there. Let there be no mistake, I like the British and the British way of life and before I moved here I made friends with quite a few during my time in the Dutch army.
  12. I never intended to belittle anybody or anything. I love living here! I'm just trying to reason the pros and cons of leaving the EU and state some facts and comparisons. But then somebody's arrogance kicks in..
  13. Ahh.. Ye Olde Chestnut again. Have you even researched this my friend? I agree the Dutch government was very naive in those days, but then again Chamberlain thought he could do business with Hitler. Britain just had the luck not to be attached to mainland Europe,or we're all be speaking Deutsch now. And if you question Dutch bravery, have you ever heard of the Raid on the Medway? You're . But we're drifting off..
  14. Can you please explain that one to me ?
  15. Aye, I've noticed Britain has quite a culture in gambling. But you're right, we'll have to live with whatever comes from this.
  16. What I was getting at with comparing the UK's economical figures vs the Dutch is that for a country so much bigger than the Netherlands, the UK is not faring that well really when the Netherlands trumps the UK in quite a few fields of business, oil ,pharmaceuticals and electronics to name but a few. The way I see it is that we we're just crawling out of the last recession and now just dive into a new one voluntarily, and the working man is bearing the brunt yet again.
  17. Danger-Mouse, on 07 Jan 2017 - 7:30 PM, said: Here are the Netherlands exports. Now you have to consider 65 million in the UK to 17 million people in the Netherlands. Is the UK really doing well? The following export product groups represent the highest dollar value in Dutch global shipments during 2015. Also shown is the percentage share each export category represents in terms of overall exports from the Netherlands. Machines, engines, pumps: US$80.3 billion (14.1% of total exports) Oil: $74.4 billion (13.1%) Electronic equipment: $73.5 billion (13%) Pharmaceuticals: $28.3 billion (5%) Medical, technical equipment: $25.3 billion (4.5%) Plastics: $23.6 billion (4.2%) Vehicles: $21.4 billion (3.8%) Organic chemicals: $19.2 billion (3.4%) Iron and steel: $12.7 billion (2.2%) Live trees and plants: $9.3 billion (1.6%) Pharmaceuticals represent the fastest-growing among the top 10 export categories, up 79.2% for the 5-year period starting in 2011. According to these numbers the UK, compared to a tiny country like the Netherlands is a very small player in the world of exports.
  18. As these numbers show the UK is just a small player on the worlds economy when you consider the difference between the size of the UK compared to for instance, the Netherlands.

  20. Sorry for playing devil's advocate here, but only JCBs and aerospace can't make up for 65 million people. Things like the metal industry are already being sold off to foreign businesses. I think the UK is a bit like a Jack Russell, i.e it thinks it's bigger than it is. All this export you talk about wandringstar, where is the majority going to? Inside or outside of Europe? A lot of companies will leave the UK because they don't want to end up on a economical secluded island. All I can think of is rising prices of products and the UK having to sell their products outside the EU for a higher price because of export taxes and transport costs.
  21. No I don't have a crystal ball pal, and nobody does in the case of Brexit. I'm just skeptical about the whole thing and I just hope I'm totally wrong. Time will tell ...
  22. I'm one of those migrants that came to Britain 6 years ago. I'm originally from the Netherlands, so I didn't come here for economical reasons (my partner is Scottish) and I have noticed that the UK as a whole is in many ways poorer than the Netherlands. We are already geographically an island and I'm afraid we'll become that economically as well. In my opinion the Brexiteers jumped into the deep end without even knowing if they could swim. Doing business with the EU countries will become much more difficult and dearer and if we do, we still have to abide by the EU standards and regulations. The only thing I can think of that Britain produces and successfully exports is whisky, all the rest can be produced by any other country. The only way I can see a successful Brexit is that all countries step out of the EU and it stops to exist, otherwise I'm afraid the UK will become even more poor than it already is.
  23. So going by your wicked opinion it would be a bit like the raped woman should go to jail but not the rapist because she was wearing high heels and a short skirt and the rapist just had a bad childhood. Again, and this will be my last say about; I know my dog. He is not aggressive at all, in fact he is as soft as butter(unless you enter my house uninvited) but he doesn't always get along with other male dogs. That's why I have him on a lead and under my control. So if a yappy Spaniel or whatever who's off the lead thinks it's ok to go up to him and growl etc, then it is at first the Spaniel's owner at fault and secondly the Spaniel himself. My dog is a dog with a dogs' behaviour and I will never ever punish him by muzzling him because some other dog owner can't take responsibility and have his dog on a lead like I have mine! If I have to put my dog on a lead, so does everybody else, simple! Is this really so hard to comprehent and do people still see GSD's as the devil dogs and still have that biased opinion?
