  1. So in your statement of wisdom you're telling me that I have to muzzle my dog(who is not aggressive, but just doesn't like every dog ) at all times because some **** can't be bothered to put his dog on a lead? **** that! It looks like a lot of people have no clue about dogs and their behaviour and try to reason with them or treat them like humans. There's somebody in my neighbourhood with a grumpy Cocker Spaniel who always growls at my dog and is always off the lead. Mine doesn't react too much but if he get's too close to my dog ,who is on a lead at all times when I walk him in town, then I'll let him have him! The owner knows my dog and he also knows that his is a grumpy *******. But hey, that's alright because he's just a Cocker Spaniel and Cocker Spaniels are always cute and therefore don't necessarily be on a lead. I've learned that the smaller the dog, the lesser training they had.
  2. I don't expect you to have an Oxford degree in literature ,but can you please read my post again ? I am the responsible dog owner putting his dog on a lead when I see other dogs approach in case dogs behave like dogs. I expect the other owner to do the same. Any dog on a lead feels vulnerable when he is tethered and the other isn't regardless the size of either dog! But when mine is on a lead and feeling vulnerable when the other isn't under control and a fight starts anyway, you can bet I will let go of the lead so my dog has a chance to defend himself. My GSD is not aggressive at all but like us humans dogs don't like everybody they meet..
  3. Well now, English is not my first language but I didn't think my post was too difficult to interpret.
  4. I'm of the same persuasion that if dogs are off the lead they might be friendly enough to be off the lead. I let my GSD off the lead wherever there are no other dogs or other animals about. As sson as I see someone else with a dog he goes on the lead, because he is still a dog and can be unpredictable sometimes of how he will react to other dogs. What I don't get is that when people see me putting my dog on the lead they just keep coming towards me with their dog(s) off the lead mostly saying 'my dogs are ok' . Yeah, yours might be but mine can not be so friendly when you let yours walking up to mine to have a sniff. And then mostly when a fight erupts between a yappy- too brave for its own good- terrier it's my dog who gets the blame because 'he's so much bigger' . Accidents and incidents will happen but if every dog owner would be more considerate and responsible and put their dogs on a leash when other are around then we wouldn't have such heated debates about it all the time.
  5. You got to be kidding writing down this drivel!
  6. At all times? Do you own a dog? If so, is it never off the lead?
  7. Dogs do what dogs do; they fight. Especially male on male. It is a very natural thing for them to show who's boss but we try too much to humanise them. I've got a 8 stone GSD and he rarely likes other male dogs, unless they are neutered, so I'm always anticipating my route to see if there are other dogs around before I let him off the lead. Unfortunately there's always the chance you get taken by surprise and two dogs meet and start a brawl, but mostly it's more growling than really injuring. It happened to me about 2 times when my GSD was still very immature and a bit unpredictable, but nowadays he learned to stop and wait for me when he spots another dog. I'm not sure if I would just jump inbetween my GSD and another dog whilst they're fighting, not with the set of gnashers he's got!
  8. http://www.military1st.co.uk/search/military1st/page/1/?searchquery=shotgun Completely legal to buy. It's a total non-story and Customs and Police have made total buffoons out of themselves by taking this so far. In the end it's just load carrying stuff made out of cordura nylon. You don't have to explain where ,when or how you want to wear it. Just say it's for your packed lunch. ;-)
  9. Ahh...I see now. Is that the reason why they dress like ***** too?
  10. It's the polis going completely ott over this. Have you seen what stuff you can buy from companies like military1st etc for the folk that do airsoft ? You can kit yourself out like if you're SAS or a Blackwater operator and it's all legal.Jobsworth cops who could have spent their time and effort to better use. You did nothing wrong.
  11. Is it just me or are the people who appear in this video all up their own posh snobby *****? Or am I showing my working-class roots now?
  12. When do they have their holidays? They might have a lie in then..
  13. I've been to Berlin twice ,and both times around Christmas time and the Christmas market there is absolutely fab. Where else is it better to have a Bratty and a Glühwein than on the AlexanderPlatz or Kurfürstendamm?
  14. Thanks for the info gents. I thought they were Snipe of some sort but was more surprised you can actually shoot them in this country. I'm originally from the Netherlands and there Snipe are heavily protected and shooting one could get you jailed in the worsed case.
  15. Nice photos! But excuse me my ignorance, but what are those birds with the long pointy beak?
  16. There's a German Shepherd Police dog called PD Peach. His name might have the same effect ;-)
  17. I know a black Lab named Dave. When I first heard it I thought it was the funniest, coolest name for a dog. My German Shepherd's name is Angus btw.
  18. What about the freedom of speech, even(or maybe especially) on a public access forum? Equal comments go on the newspaper's internet sites as well. People like to vent their frustration, that's all. I don't think people holding a SGC or FAC is relevant. You obviously never visited the ARRSE forum. Just my 2 p worth.

Back in Holland I lived about 8 miles from Angus Young ( he's married to a Dutch girl anf lives in the town of Aalten) and people say that he's the most down to earth rock star you can find. He often strolls to the nearby petrol station to buy a package of fags and then strolls back to his big villa and nobody bats an eyelid about who just walked through the street. :-)
  20. 91 %. I'm still not sure where I did go wrong or right...
