  1. Thanks Chris, a bit more than i was looking to spend to be honest as i can find them online for £38. Was hoping i may get a pair for around £50. Edd drop me a PM once you've had the chance to look. Cheers, Greg.
  2. Looking for 1/4 & 1/2 or two 1/2 Beretta Optima HP Extended chokes ideally the 20mm ones with the colour bands on the end. But will consider others. What you got? Thanks, Greg.
  3. This is the bit i'm most concerned with, LOP and the amount of rib seen was very similar to my own gun.
  4. I find myself in a similar position. I've tried a browning 725 that i got on fairly well with but it's the beretta that i really like/want despite not shooting very well with it. So have two choices, i either buy the gun i like more and have it adjusted or the gun that seems to fit better off the shelf...
  5. Thanks for the replies so far. I should have said that i realise mount and technique are also very important factors but i was just asking about stock adjustments assuming that the mount is ok. It's my understanding that even if my mount was perfect and consistent every-time if i'm looking down the side of the barrels due to the wrong cast then i'm always going to struggle if that makes sense.
  6. So other than just being a bad shot, is there anything that can't be solved by a gun fit? Reason for asking, my current gun feels like it fits fairly well off the shelf and i hit a reasonable amount with it. But i'm looking to 'upgrade', i've tried a friends gun that I've fallen in love with look, feel, balance wise and it shoulders nicely but when i tried it i definitely shot worse than with my gun. Despite this i still fancy one. My understanding is when we're talking an average size guy (maybe slightly taller) with average build and an off the shelf gun it should only be a matter of tweaks to get it to fit correctly. Does this sound correct or am i missing something? Im happy to buy and pay for adjustments as i'd plan on keeping it for many years but don't want to buy and find that it can't be tweaked because of something i've not thought of. Thanks in advance.
  7. This is a good point that i'd not yet considered...
  8. Hi Guys, I realise this will probably come down to personal preference at the end of the day but im just after opinions incase there is anything i have overlooked. Im pretty much decided im going to get myself a new 525 but just trying to decide between the game and sporter. I only shoot clays currently so that tells me a should get the sporter but I really like the look of the game gun. Is there much real world difference between the two? Weight seems pretty similar but will the smaller rib and slightly different fit of the game gun leave me at a disadvantage? Thanks in advance.
  9. Thanks for the replies guys. Thats what i had suspected
  10. Does anyone know if the inflex II recoil pads from the current/new 525 is a straight fit to the older (pre Inflex) model? And vice versa? Will the old soild plate fit on the new model? Are the stock end dimensions identical? thanks in advance
  11. As title, looking for Browning 525 Game in 28" in Norfolk/Suffolk area or could venture a little further for the right deal. Thanks, Greg.
  12. Thanks for your input guys. While i still class myself as new to shooting i have been shooting for a couple years and had several lessons when i started as this was the way i got into it in the first place. I think i just got a bit carried away with what i was being told would be a good gun (barrel length, sporter, fit etc) when i bought mine instead of how it felt and while it fits me fairly well and i can hit a reasonable amount with it when I'm shooting well i don't think the balance or barrel length is quite right for me which is something i wasn't aware of until i tried a friends gun and couldn't miss with it and it just felt right/natural. Im not saying his gun is necessarily the right gun for me either but it has inspired me to have a look around, try a few and see what feels good now i have more experience than i did when i bought mine.
  13. Hi Mark, Thats a very generous offer thank you! What model is your 12g? It would more than likely be the 28" game version id be after. I usually shoot at high lodge but happy to go anywhere. Although id need to arrange some time off work to meet mid week.
