  1. I remeber you winning the Turkey 😄 A long time ago. All the best.
  2. The pub at the summit of Kirkstone Pass used to run on oil but no one could afford the cost of running the building. There are now run by, I think three small wind turbines that have made it a viable pub now.
  3. They still have steam trains there 😃
  4. When I visit Paintmines Booths at Carnforth sells good food, either sit in or to take it out. It's about 70 yards from the traffic lights at the cross roads. It's not a bad shoot to be honest, something for every body.
  5. Depends how old you are. I had cataracts when I was in my sixties caused by smoking, removed, it made a very big difference to my night vision and bright lights are not a really big problem now.
  6. I'm with them now very competitive price with a few extras such as breakdown cover.

    Weather

There has been a lot of snow today in the Lakes today, roads closed everywere, loads of cars abandoned, people walking home, village halls opened throughout the area for people to shelter, not good to be honest. It will take a couple of days to get back to normal, I hope.
  8. I have an unshot LF it maybe a bit tight for you though. £25 Malmo Guns have a selection of used chokes.

    Malmo

I'll try to put in a good word for you but not many get a brew 🤔 If I'm ignored I go and make one myself but they never have sweetners but I keep some in my car.

    Malmo

I've had a brew made for me for years, every time I go there 😁
  11. A sad loss. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-67415822
  12. I used to go there too, as you say about Aladdin's cave especially if you went upstairs. And yes they were odd 😀
  13. Warm water and washing up liquid will bring a lot of the dirt off.
  14. I posted on another forum and f/book about the improvements at Coniston now that it has James as the new manager. Shooters who left are now coming back as the attitude has totally changed, the staff are now happy and smiling, layouts are changed at least once a month, there is a new chef now with better food, more choice and made with tasty local produce. Totally different atmosphere now.😀
  15. How about buying one of these? https://www.shotgunchokes.co.uk/webshop/shotgun-accessories/shogun-choke-stuck-removal-tool Better than damaging the gun.
  16. When I had my Rav4 which did not have a spare wheel I carried one of these. https://www.amazon.co.uk/wlw-XtremeAuto-TRIKE-PUNCTURE-REPAIR/dp/B07FW34M8Z/ref=sr_1_17?keywords=tyre%2Brepair%2Bkit&qid=1697310309&sr=8-17&th=1 Just plug the hole if that's all that caused the puncture and inflate it with the electric pump. They worked well on my son's motorbike when he picked up a nail in the tyre, we used three CO2 bulbs to inflate it untill we found a garage.
  17. It's your choice but they have forgotten to put a seat on it 😱
  18. The bike I used to have the most fun riding on the road was Husqvarna SM610 but the downside was the seat, 30 mins was quite long enough. Incredible cornering and braking capabilities though 😁
  19. Honda Pan American is the one to buy, if you don't mind going a little slower the Deauville is a good bike.
  20. My wife and I were on holiday at Wemyss Bay in 2006. We went on the Waverley up the Loch, it was the first time I had ever seen a submarine in the water. I enjoyed watching the engine driving the paddles, every time we stopped to pick up more passengers it seemed like a controled crash when we stopped at the piers 😄 I'm sure we had fish and chips on board too.
  21. You might be better off trying an inertia gun before you sell your Beretta, they have a lot more recoil.
  22. Mine ran out on the 1st of August, I did not get a reminder this time. In years gone I've always recieved one 🤔
  23. I've been with them for a while but have never needed to use the policy.
