  1. Years ago there were a few of them nesting on a tip at Burneside near Kendal.
  2. I was insured by LV for a few years, my renewal last year had increased like Gordon's. I changed to the AA and saved Β£100.
  3. Yes they are all the same bore. Mike.
  4. I have six chokes for sale sk,1/4, 3/8, 3/8, 5/8 5/8, the last two have never been used. They are in a choke box but NO key. Β£150 inc. postage.
  5. The only aircraft I saw over Windermere on Friday was a Lancaster πŸ˜€
  6. Chris Potter sells Briley caps, much better than the original. https://www.briley.com/p-61311-beretta-391-technys-and-urika-modular-forend-cap-weight.aspx More weights can be added too.
  7. I go to Kendal for mine, Fish Express, I have the pensioners special. I have a lightly battered fish, chips, curry sauce and a pot of tea sat indoors for Β£9.20 and it's freshly cooked. I think it's really good value for money.πŸ˜ƒ
  8. Browning 525 Trap One is the way to go, multichoke too.
  9. I found that article very interesting and truthful, will anyone take note though?
  10. I liked your last line Gordon πŸ˜„
  11. I go now and again and midweek is quiet which I must say I like it like that. The last time I visted I could not see a thing because of the Sun as it was a clear day. As you say the staff are really nice people and the food is good, a problem for me is that Kirkstone Pass is closed for a while but it's stll a 140 mile round trip for me.
  12. Scully, that's my feeling too. No airguns no .22 rimfire, but it doesn't matter to those who just shoot driven game, very selfish but that's what money does to people πŸ™„
  13. The CPSA is a not for profit organisation too πŸ˜€ I was a member for many years when I shot registered but I became fed up of the cheating at sporting shoots. 27572 was my membership number. I have ccc3 insurance which is ok for me.
  14. I wrote a lot of letters to MP's regarding the pistol ban, only one bothered to reply and that was Ann Widdecombe, she was always polite, but we lost our pistols.
  15. Many years ago I was actually a member of BASC, 1984. If my memory is correct πŸ€”
  16. Give me as much "stick" as you want πŸ˜‚
  17. What's the point about coaching anyone when the change to shooting is going to finish it. Small bore rifle/pistol, air rifle and pistol clubs using lead free pellets. .22 rimfire for pest shooting. All gone, with no good reason.
  18. BASC recently had a young shots day near to me about controlling grey squirrels. They were shooting air rifles with guess what? LEAD FREE pellets, welcome to the future.
  19. No thank you, I take no part in killing things for pleasure!
  20. The organisations might be encourging a voluntary transition from lead, but do the people who shoot lead projectiles at their quarry, want to shoot something else which is not as efficient as lead and is probably more expensive?
