  1. I have limited experience of many brands/models, but what I can tell you is that when they nail down the lid on my coffin they will have to unclasp my hands from my S410!
  2. Sorry! Misunderstood the header. Yes, been twice when the rain stopped . My club lake, boat fishing, two on buzzers the first trip, lost one and missed a couple of offers on dries on Monday.
  3. Hi Oldypigeonpopper. I'm a long way from you, but if I can give you any general tips or advice I'd be happy to do so. It's a great sport, and will keep you busy when the pigeon don't want to play! All the Best HIDENSEEK
  4. Thanks for sharing! nice to know someone else has dogs that are less than Field Trial standard!
  5. Well done, nice to see you posting again.
  6. I had similar problems with my surgery, in Leyland, with the medical forms not being completed. Without giving you a long and frustrating story, I eventually had to change my practice to get the form completed. I have no issues which could give a Doctor concern. Lancs constabulary were good when they got the forms, although wouldn't shift on giving me an extension on the renewal date. I am told by my shooting buddies there are now no surgeries in the area completing forms. Anyone in the area needs to get moving as soon as they get their renewal, possibly a BASC doctor or Medicert etc.
  7. My old Air Arms S410 Classic is poorly, losing air through the old style male filler. Ordered the parts ( new T bar fiitings) yesterday after lunch, arrived through the letter box 9.30 this morning Well done to Best Fittings and Royal Mail!
  8. Cracking day and account! Well done to all involved 😅
  9. Well done you! It's great when it all comes right and you get the reward for the slow days and slogging along with all the gear for little reward. Hope you can manage another trip before they go elsewhere.
  10. Congratulations on 10,000 posts!

  11. That looks bloody cold! Well done you.
  12. Every days a school day. My Mum said I was misconceived. Thanks.
  13. We all have days like that! I thought it was advised we shouldn't use more than 1/2 choke with steel? Next time out will be better. Stay safe.
  14. I remember reds in Duxbury woods, Chorley, about 30 years ago. That was before the golf course and the public access was much less than now. I do my bit with the s410 and would love to see reds back.
  15. I've got two and had them for several years. Only replaced one of the motors, simple job, about £6 from ebay. I would recommend them, don't see the point of paying double the price. I bought an adjustable timer, again off the bay, because i thought the supplied timer went on too long.
  16. Thanks for the replies guys.I was wondering if the pigeon would come to the newly drilled crop, probably didn't word the question properly.
  17. Some advice please from the Pigeon Massive. I have recently got a new permission which has mainly barley and beans, which have come through this week, and the pigeon have sought alternative food. The farmer was drilling some game crop strips yesterday and as this is my only permission with game crop, I'm wondering if the pigeon will come to it? I'm expecting the answer to be "watch it", but in the present situation that's difficult. Hopefully I may get on it after the game season, but is it worth keeping in mind for the future? Cheers, and stay safe. HIDENSEEK
  18. After seeing a mates barrels flashing every time he mounted the gun across the field, I bought a stretchy camo one off the bay. It fitted the whole gun and I just cut off enough to fit the barrels, and used the other piece to protect the stock from scratches. I can't find the same one now, tried neoprene but nowhere near as good. I only use it when it's bright sun but I got definately less "flare offs".
  19. Nice write up. Don't measure the day by the size of the bag, or the number of shots, but by the pleasure you get out of it. 😊
  20. Well done! You'll have to sneak out again, bit of fresh air and a few pigeons are a good tonic. Might need a rest and a whisky later?
