  1. Hi there, I'm in Aberdeen city and shoot at Seals Cove (not near enough!!). Keen to get out shooting as much as possible so give me a shout if anyone is stuck. Will
  2. Managed to get 50 clays in yesterday. Shot ok and really enjoyed shooting with the gun. Probably hit about half but there's nothing wrong with gun or fit at all.... it's just I'm **** at shooting!!! I'm going to be heading down for a lesson on Friday (got to love flexible working!!!) I'll get some more photos up at some point for the people interested in purchasing. I had the pro look over the gun down at the ground and he was surprised how nice the wood was for a Grade 1 and also that it came as standard with a recoil pad. Altogether he thought it was a cracking bit of kit for the money.
  3. Chuffed to bits with it. Hoping to get down to Seals Cove (Aberdeen) tomorrow but it depends on my shooting partner's state tonight!!
  4. Thanks for the warm welcome!
  5. Thanks for the positive replies. I'm looking forward to testing it out but I'm not sure whether it's going to be this week or next!!
  6. So... After finally getting my SGC and security sorted I was in the market for a second hand shotgun. My budget was around £800-£1000 but after seeing various second hand shotguns, they didn't really give me good feelings e.g. locally a Browning 525 30" sporter, 5 or 6 years old was £1150 used for mainly game and scratches, dings and a couple of small chips. I checked guntrader etc. and saw some down south going for better money but I didn't want to go to all the effort of having a gun sent to a local RFD and then finding it wasn't that great. I decided to start looking at new guns and the 525 took my eye. I eventually took the plunge and purchased a 2014 Browning 525 30" sporter from Andersons in Aberdeen. It fits well for me - 6ft 3in and long-ish neck. Boom... job done So now all I have to do is shoot (at) some clays and hopefully hit some! Obligatory photo below:
  7. Morning folks, I'm originally from Yokrshire, now living in Aberdeen. Each time I go back home for Christmas to see the family I go clay shooting on a friends land. I've always enjoyed it so I decided to take the next step and filled out the SGC application. My plan was to get a few lessons then look at purchasing a shotgun after a while. As it turns out I ended up getting my SGC certificate quite quickly, got my security in order then purchased a gun after a couple of lessons! I'm a long time lurker of this forum - it's provided some really useful information whilst I've been deciding on a gun and researching equipment etc. so thought I'd get signed up! Anyway, just a quick "hi" from me... I'll post some detail on my gun in the appropriate section. Will
