  6. Hi all, need help, I have a Buffalo River Gold 10 Gun cabinet with digi lick entry. today, I typed in code and the lock would not disengage. The screen said open but the locks wouldn’t release. this happened once before and I had to unscrew face plate and use manual release. Today it happened again, but this time after using key over ride it will not function off digi pad. ive tried changing batteries but still the problem persists. anybody have this problem or can suggest a solution? Obviously I’ll contact buffalo River in the New Year, but in the meantime any suggestions?!? lloydi
  7. Yes, this is a genuine question and is for a friend not me..... basically, he lives 40 miles from work so stays away at his mothers all week and Saturdays as he owns a garage. I’ve gotten him into clay pigeon shooting so he now wants to apply for his license. he wants to keep the cabinet at his mothers, can he do this if he doesn’t live there? obviously he knows she can’t have keys or access to said cabinet. Ive tried calling FEO for advice but he’s now off til NY........
  8. Well done J Dog, even if thre are no birds, a day out with you is always good fun and guranteed to be amusing
  9. I'm intrested, let me know details when you get them......
  10. His loss in deed JDog as you truly do have tremendous shooting and are more than generous at taking people out.....Just sorry you were the one who had to go back and clear up after them......
  11. Right, as promised I'd let you know when I got it back... Picked it up last night and looks much better with iron sight milled off and over barrel mod applied. Grouped within an inch at 70m with mod on, although 2 inches low and 4 inches left. But to be honest conditions were not good last night, strong wind, getting dark ans I was in a hurry to get lamping as I had the 17HMR anyway but I just wanted to get out and try it, but at least it groups and doesn't hit ground now!! Hopefully the weekend will give us some still weather so I can go lie on the ground and shoot without wind.. ATB Lloydi
  12. Hi Guys, No, factory threaded screw cut on end to take a mod, and no, I'm not paying for the fix, the gun dealer who sold it to me is doing it FOC as it's been a fault since I purchased it from them. Mind you, I do also use him and spend a lot with him so least they could do. Let you know how I get on when it comes back, should be sometime next week....
  13. Recently purchased my Ruegar 10-22 .22LR and tried zeroing it in. Without mod, groups perfectly, 10 magazine all within 1 inch group. However, when you put mod on, the bullets come out the end and just nose dive into the ground. I zeroed at 70m without and all hit target, put mod on and they were literally falling 10m short and hitting the ground 2ft below target. I've now had to send it away to gunsmiths to have iron sight removed and an over barrel mod fitted. Anybody else had this issue?
  14. LOL......thanks Mike, glad you took it in the light hearted spirit it was meant....
  15. Corinium Swindon way....Malmesbury SN16 9SH
  16. You've lost em now, lol, get down here quick before I clear them all out for you....see you soon buddy....
  17. Well, where to start.... Whilst out lamping last Wednesday night, we happened upon a poor sheep stuck head first into square mesh fence held firmly in place by the horns. Head down and **** up and could only back up!! Every Welsh mans dream.....Anyway, not to dwell heavily on this thought and as it turned out, it was also to benefit us English. We called farmer who promptly dispatched the shepherd to deal with said beast, but also added it was a fortuitous phone call as one of his other farms was plagued by rooks, crows and jackdaws and would I be interested.....Well, no sooner was the phone down I was round to said farm to look...A new permission and a 4th farm for me from this particular farmer, so must be doing something right!! I must say some dues to good old J Dog here as it was his first introduction to said farmer that got me my first farm with this farmer, and boy has he got some beautiful Cotswold land, I think I am the luckiest newbie shooter and envy at the clay pigeon club on a Sunday lol. It was 20:00 on Wednesday night when we got there, I knew not mucg would be around, but I just wanted to see the lay of the land for footpaths, roads general safety features etc in the daylight. I thought I'd go back Thursday in daytime for a recon,.....well, my patience paid off as for once the farmer was not embellishing numbers, there must have been 200 on electricity wires, on the Cotswolds stone walls and in the fields... Well, I phoned my mate, and Saturday morning we were up.....we set up the hide in a lovely weed bed secreted behind a Cotswold stone wall, so the only visible part of the hide was the top 5 inches...As soon as we were in the hide, I'd say 2 mins a crow came and hovered within 15 feet, bang, he got a full pattern 12g off my mate. That dispatched crow went straight on to the flapper to our right. Well, I knew how wiley crows etc can be, but the flapper just drew them in, they were oblivious to us only 20 feet away...... The day was finished with 108 mixture of Crows, Jackdaws, Rooks, one happy farmer and an ecstatic pair of shooters on new ground.... I'm trying to upload final picture but it's not working aghhhhhhhhh...... Anyway, hope you enjoy the scenery we had from the hide, and the sport was tremendous.... ATB Lloydi
  18. If anybody has some old pheasant feeders they don't want anymore, I could do with some, I'll gladly come relieve you of them, Oxfordshire are..... Thanks
  19. Excellent report there from Ginger cat. I can heartedly back him up when he says J Dog is a true shooting gent, I've been fortunate to be in his good books and have been invited out on several shooting excursions with him around his old stomping ground of the Cotswolds. I know what you mean Ginger, when JDog says move this touch that etc, he's usually spot on, we decoyed last time and within 2 minutes of setting up they were coming straight in. JDog's great company in the pub too, he likes the long shot in there, I.e. he stands 50 yards from the bar whilst you buy Only kidding, great write up, and hope you get out with J dog again.....
  20. I had a similar problem as you, shooting rooks near farm houses. I purchased a Hushpower 12g. Have you considered a hushpower with subsonic cartridges? That way you get a 12g, 20g or 4.10 semi shotgun as they hold 3 cartridges (they come in all those gages) with the quietness of a .22LR or air rifle....They are £550 brand new but look on gun trader or other sites and you can pick a good second hand one for £200 which is cheaper than an air rifle with all the attachments?!? I don't live too far away from you, if you want me to pop over with it and you have ago with it and see for yourself. I'm Abingdon way..... Hope this helps ATB Lloydi
  21. :good: This is a good idea....
