  1. Not that one, but not far from it, about 2 miles from it
  2. I feel for you redgum, they were nasty vile little scum bags and we weren't even badger culling, we were lamping with 17HMR's but they never bother to let facts get in the way eh?!? I really hope those of you who haven't encountered them never do.., They were swarming on the dark roads at night looking for trouble which is intimidating if you're alone and you have 6 cars of them like we did following and looking for you...mudmad had to ask the police to hold one car at the garage so he could get away home without being followed!'
  3. Hey all.. It was a fantastic morning, I will write about it tomorrow, but as fruity says above, this is what the forum is all about and Highbird is a true gent and credit to the shooting fraternity.....he gives me too much credit, he took the beasts.. He gralloched the first going step by step and giving a brilliant oratory as he went.....he made it look so easy....then he let me gralloched the 2nd beast....all in all a fabulous day and I can't thank Highbird enough......just to watch and listen to a true pro like him is poetry in motion!!
  4. Don't worry OJW, they won't scare me that easily..Looking forward to catching catching up with you on JDog's shoot in January...........
  5. Well, myself and Mudmad have given our statements to the police, I know it's a long shot, but lest hope they may be able t do something. The WPC did say the sabs will be in the area for next two weeks due to badger culling.....
  6. I know I know, I just seem to attract the rogues.....
  7. Well stood right in front of me is safest place when I'm shooting as you know JDog lol.......But thanks for your concern, it's really touched my heart and given me a feeling, just like bile......
  8. I think Robbie, that's why the police are so interested, because I told them when I reported it, that they jumped through the window and tried taking guns.....Lets hope they catch these people, they had no regard for private land, nor the highways, they were stopped at brows and troughs of hills where anybody could have ploughed into them, and the road is a busy through way for lorries getting across country.....
  9. Well, last night myself and a friend were out lamping the bunnies when what I thought were headlights of cars in the distance, didn't seem to be going fast or following the road got closer and closer......when it dawned on me they were people walking, silly niaive me thought they were lost orienterers, so up to them I drove with window down....did I get a shock, they started screaming at us and tried to jump through the window and grabbing at riffles in passengers hands. Nasty vile little creatures nothing to them, but as they know, us being armed and them not, we'd be the ones in trouble so I had to put foot to floor and speed off my land I was legally on, unlike them!! Phoned the police and I was quite surprised they took an interest and turned up 20mins later, I thought it would be just a case of log call and do nowt. I'm now waiting to be interviewed about the situation. My friend took registrations of their vehicles parked up as they approached him when he got back into his car, with a cam, and tried accosting him, luckily he had no weapons in car and just said he was parked up making a phone call. But you should, have seen them, about 6/8 cars swarming around the Cotswolds. We stopped in the BP station at Stow to meet up with Police and discovered the sabs were out in force and the police were receiving numerous phonecalls about them last night and theyd chased 2 other sets of shooters off also. So people, be on your guard and if out lamping be with somebody for the near future!! Good luck be safe Lloydi
  10. Thanks gents, and even bigger thanks to Highbird, PM's you. Regards
  11. I Still remember my first shoot 2 years ago.....they are brilliant and you'll have immense fun......One thing I was told by an old bold guy stood behind me to retrieve the behind birds, always see blue at the end of the barrel, never green!! It's already been covered above, but just a good tip to remember..... ATB Lloydi
  12. Hi all, I have 4 permissions of my own, but unfortunately am not allowed to shoot game, it's vermin only. I completed my DSC 1 last year so know all the basics of deer stalking, but haven't been able to implement it in to practice lately and would like to sit my DSC 2 next year. Unfortunately you need a kill and gralloch portfolio for this. Is anybody willing to take me for a stalk and let me gralloch, or at least let me watch you gralloch so I can get that experience of hands on. I can offer in return some lamping and rabbiting or if I can offer anything else I will. I am in West Oxford...... Best regards
  13. Is it the one man tent £49.99 or two man tent £81.99 on A1 site?!?
  14. I'll team up with you if you're short on numbers, sounds a great day out.....
  15. I did qualify further on yido, I was out with somebody else who accounted for at least 2/3 of the bag!!
  16. Section I'm afraid old chap.....However, I have heard "if you buy 2 3/4 carts, you can get 3 up the tube turning your usual 3 shot semi into 4 shot, but like I said, only what I heard as would be totally illegal
  17. Thanks for the comments chaps, looking forward to my next outing.....
  18. Sorry Stuart, but I've been out with JDog and taken valuable advice off of him and I can assure you he definitely knows his onions when it comes to pigeon shooting, he definitely does not talk ••••.......I've learnt more from him in 5 mins than reading books and listening to others....he really is a great guy and pigeon expert
  19. I wish I could lay claim to a personal best of 165 Fred, however and alas, I was with an exceptional fine shot, AAA in CPSA, and my contribution to the bag was about 65/70.......
  20. During pheasant season I usually swap like for like, Pigeons, he just usually forwards a cheque after count up etc.....
  21. Nice rig.....great shooting
  22. I do apologise for any offence caused, I have repudiated the term "Sky Rats" and now refer by their correct terminology.
  23. Hi Mr Wasp... I'm novice aswell, I just had my first shooting over rape stubble Saturday and bagged 165, so yes rape really attracts them. Good luck, let us know how you get on. ATB
