  1. Thanks for the replies I gave permission for the gun to go from the original dealer to the person I trusted, setting-up on his own - he said he could sell English Guns to his clients more readily He sold - only letting me know afrer I'd chased him a few times and I then had to chase him for his RFD details I let the Met know as soon as I knew it was sold (without the seller's RFD details) then followed-up with the RFD details K
  2. Received as private individual, emails are to him, RFD details -which I had to chase up - are in the name of a company So gun taken for sale as a person I trusted, he is then director of a company, company sells the gun Lots of emails/whatsapp, most recently "waiting for a customer to pay, latest Friday" that was 3 weeks ago
  3. The gun was with a dealer on SOR, their employee set up on his own and agreed to sell the gun for me, I trusted him and didn't kniow of the limited entity
  4. I think it would have to be against the company which apparently has no money, though the £1000 came from him personally
  5. All Advice needed please Through what I took to be a trusted person I sold a gun SOR in October for £3000 Since then, after repeated phone calls and assurances of payment I've had £1000 (by Revolut) only after a local (to him, -50 miles from me) chased him repeatedly and I got that only in January I was dealing with a person but in fact it's a limited entity and accounts show it's in trouble so no point taking legal action Should I contact or tell him I'm contacting his FEO and advise of dishonesty which is a reason for renewal of license renewal? This would presumably be a serious step I've bought and sold a few guns when this person was based at a ground/shop and never had problems He's plainly got into trouble on his own Thanks Kevin (I've had money problems before with a gamekeeper/car dealer near Newbury)
  6. The Woodward shown in my sign in was bought as 1 of 3 by Charles Napier Sturt in 1882, likely as a 50th birthday present to himself, the poor sod died in 1886 I do like using it
  7. It says I think B Norman, so a Suffolk gun As a left-hander I took some getting used to double triggers, which are invariably canted for a right hander Having recently acquired a single trigger (stupidly) I find I go to the trigger guard for the 2nd shot I've never knowingly selected the left barrel first, as always shoot right then left

    Big guns

I was told by a gunshop employee that the 1 person who was buying big bores stopped and the market is flooded (Giles Marriott have 72!) I did watch the live auction and few of the big bores even got a bid, which may mean bargains for someone
  10. Very nice It trumps my oldest by 10 years
  11. A1 ground Barnet is closing at the end of July, too many noise complaints I think with "continuous property development in the surrounding area"
  12. And that isn't even real leather
  13. Lot 3848 £60-80 estimate is in their sealed bid auction with bids to be in by 21st July
  14. Signage is doing very well, 1, estimate £100-200 went for £1900
  15. Before I was born but Clement Attlee The Health Service
  16. Thanks John I'll likely go and see it next week
  17. I'm currently interested in an old SXS, wall thickness minimum is 29 thou so very good Bores are quoted as .736; is this a problem do you think? 3 thou to go, never likely to change I did p/ex a H&H boxlock once that was 1 thou in proof and the dealer said "in proof is in proof"
  18. End of August I hear Lease up I think and, as you say, lead issues
  19. Weren't Purdey doing something about cartridges for old 2.5" guns to maintain a supply?
  20. Definitely 2.5" guns badly affeted price wise. I've been watching 1 on at a well know dealer, up for nearly £3000, now going for auction, estimate £800-1200
  21. Then you move on to talk about fishing
