  1. Velocity (2.5) no 2 ..446.55 maximum..yes it's a multi choke , browning factory
  2. Above post is correct.. Locally seems like it's reverse tho.. They don't want new blood, and if you show keenness and get out plenty.. Your slated for it, ya need thick skin..
  3. Iv read on here lads reducing the powder or shot,to improve pattern , is this something I could do?
  4. To be honest with you, I'd not be shooting at anything 50 yards, it's out of my comfort zone. I'd just like to make the shells the best that I possibly can.. I'll try the felt under shot like you say and see if that alters it much
  5. Aye I see, yes gun fits nice, was getting centre of pattern... Choke is factory I think , powder is maxam ssb 150 .....patterns at 30 yrd 1/4 140 (76.9%)... 1/2 127 (69.7%) on a 48" plate outside of circle was very even spread.. I was happy with pattern at this distance.. Just at 50 yrd it was low. But again was very evenly spread,
  6. Yeah I thought it was low after reading what others are achieving.. Gun fits lovely, can't wait to get out with it (would that effect patterns tho)...
  7. Hia fellas, Iv just made my first batch of cartridge, I got loading gear at lowther show on sunday(clay and game) iv pattern tested them this morning.. There are 182 shot per shell(no 2) at 50 yrd 1/4 choke 68 in 30" circle (37 %) and 1/2choke ..56 (30.7%).. Can I improve on this? If so how do I go about it.. I'm using 41grn cx2000 +150 , multi metal wad , 42 grm no2 steel , felt spacer then crimp.. Cheers
  8. I live in cumbria, barrow, local clubs have talk of 7 year waiting lists, members leave some of these clubs yet they don't recruite new ones, the one that I'm in take on new members yearly(thankfully) so gives newcomers like myself a chance to get out there, I'm hoping to get time for a session down east anglia(Norfolk) this season with the guy I purchased my gun from..
  9. Round here it's difficult for newcomers to get into clubs, it's definitely a case of knowing the right people.. Outside of local area to join a club, you need a proposer and a second, but without living in those communities, this causes a problem again.. I'm in one of the local clubs, but would gladly join one or more of others, at 35 years old I'm one of the of the younger lads in area that shoot on marshes... I don't think any of local clubs have a junior section, and there also reducing membership numbers, to below 50... Personally I feel they should be encouraging young uns to join not making it difficult
  10. I had a crack with the lad on solway stand, nice fella, the single 4bore was a thing of beauty... Me and m greeny were went to nip back and see the lads with a view to joining the club (if possible) but never got round it, once I'd picked my loading gear it was a quick scurry back to the car, jot before mark got fleeced on some fudge hahahaha
