  3. must admit I haven't seen much about lately , so going fishing in the morning , shot 2 on my last outing , so will have a look next Wednesday.
  4. why use a plastic bucket , when you can get a folding office chair with a back rest for about £20 from argos with a bit of thick foam just to make it even more comfy works for me in the hide and it slides in the vitara o k if that's any help.
  5. as dave g said turmeric but also take ground ginger as well I do every day , at 70 and still running the garden maintenance business, it might taste a bit sharp , but anything to help the old bones.
  6. are you sure nobody there the other side of that fence , every time you shoot one it is though they are being pushed from the other side , very handy , well done.

  8. my camo umbrella comes in handy if I cannot find any shade, plus a perforated camo hat from primark.
  9. you can sometimes have a better shorter period , than being out all day for the same amount of birds a lucky dip so to speak.

  11. I smoke all my meats, pigeon breasts I do a lot of , I use the steralised wood chippings from the pet shops, for marinate I make up my own magic mixtures it works for me .
  12. 9/20 till 1 oclock 2 pigeons on stubble then tractors turned up, never mind, it was too hot today so I didn't mind.

  16. put the sportsplast version amongst the enforcers today, used 30lb breaking strain I had spare which pulled ok , put it out at about 25 yds it flapped o k but I must admit it did looked strange standing about a foot above the rest , the first pigeon came without a care in the world so it couldn't have looked to bad, it did feel a bit ancient pulling that nylon , but that is what I used in the early days, but it did make me laugh , talk about tight lines , I thought that was in fishing.
  17. no pigeon his worth the risk , shoot safe, get your angles right that way you can be confident of your shooting good luck.
  18. just tarted up my old sportsplast, bin in the shed since 1066 , might give it a flap on sunday.

  20. 605 that's good going , to bad you couldn't locate out of the way of that bank , nothing worse than not picking birds you have shot , still well done , august to come.

I have used those shells in the past , and they do the job, 5 shot doe's give you a lot more confidence once you put it in the right place, the higher they are the more lead you give it , you can see that with the amount of head shots he had , nice to see a bit of flighting , well done my son. what about the picking up , hope you have a dog.
  22. mine is a 2007 multi 26 inch use 1/2 choke on the pigeon smooth as a baby's b it's a keeper for me.
  23. still shoot my 1891 hammergun , it had lovely Damascus 30 inch barrels but pitted , so to save it had it sleeved in 1969 for £49 and ten shillings use eley impax 6's imp and half sweet shooting gun.
  24. get a camo umbrella from angling direct, I was out today too but dry in between the showers.
