Hi, I have decided to buy a new o/u 12 bore. I shoot game and pigeon/vermin. My choice is between Browning B525 and Beretta Silver Pigeon. What would you choose and why.

Hi, thinking of buying a pair of these but stockists showing out of stock. Does this imply they are superb and everyone buying them?. Has anyone used them and what are your views or can anyone recommend an alternative flying decoy?

I have a CZ 455 Varmint .17hmr and understand that I can get a .22lr interchangeable barrel for this model. ( I have a slot for a .22lr on my certificate). I have spoken with my gun shop who say the interchangeable barrel kit will be around £180. I have seen some vids on line showing how to swap barrels and it looks fairly straight forward. So I have to decide on whether to buy the barrel kit for £180 or a new .22lr rifle for around £600-£700. My question is has anyone bought the interchangeable barrel kit and how effective/ easy to change and any problems encountered. Thanks

Many thanks for info. Just spoken with Reloading Solutions, do not have Dewey cleaning rod in stock at the present, but expecting new stock in approx 1week. I agree that rod and patch out with occasional brush out is the way to go Cheers

Has anyone used the Napier Universal pullthrough kit on their .17hmr. Would like to hear your comments as need to decide what cleaning regime to follow. Bore snake, rods and brushes or the pullthrough kit. Also at what rounds shot would you clean barrel.

My meindl dovre extreme gtx boots arrived today. I now need to buy a waxing product. Cannot get Meindl sport wax locally but can get Grangers G Wax. Anyone used this on meindle dovres?

Thanks for that. Always good to speak to someone whos been there , done that. Looks like a size 9 will be good to go. Do you have the extreme gtx and if so did you have to break them in?. Have they stayed watertight? I am expecting 2-3 years hard work from these boots. I have looked at Hanwag/Lowa/ Crispi Stegg but think the Dovres are the best suited for my requirements. Just have to order them now.

after lots of research I am about to buy a pair of Meindle dovres on line. My nearest stockist to go try on is 35miles away and £30 more than the cheapest online price. My question! without being able to try on a pair for size, is has anyone bought these boots and how do they match for size, ie I am a size 9 but will I require a size 10?. or will a size 9 fit OK. I could drive a 70 mile round trip to try them on and try to negotiate down £30 off. (It will cost me approx £30 in fuel for my defender) so any help on sizing would be greatly appreciated

Hi, Recently switched my dog insurance from Virgin (renewal £19.00/month) to LV Pet Insurance £15.00/month. for a 14 month old choccie lab. LV were the most price competitive and I trawled all the various pet insurers. Prices varied from £15 up to £30 for the same level of cover. It pays to shop around!! Good luck

Hi all. Followed PW for some time and now decided to become a member. I have been into shooting/gamekeeping and conservation for over 40 years and love all aspects of the great outdoors. I have SGC and FAC. Now retired but spend most of my time helping the gamekeeper on a local pheasant/partridge shoot assisting with rearing and vermin control. Looking forward to another season but got the pigeons to deal with once harvest completed. Its a great life.
