  1. I have a Brno mod 2 fantastic little rifle a real workhorse! BUT I'll throw a curved ball in, the WEIHRAUCH range of rifles are very nice. Quality trigger and the fit and finish is to a high standard.

    foxing

Ah, that's not going to work then! A very bitter pill to swallow, when money is involved people change!

Couldn't you join a local club? That way you keep the rifles and buys you a bit of time for looking? Just a thought! I should imagine you are gutted!

    Dogs stolen

I wonder why they are targeting cockers? The lot from Devon were the same breed.

    Dogs stolen

Another theft in the south west
  12. We use a bissell and find it very good, with 4 dogs it really does come in handy.
  13. Don't you get so many chances to fix it before a refund? It sounds like there wasn't a problem anyway??
  14. As a licence holder it's HIS responsibility to carry a licence when transporting a gun! This is my understanding and also have been told by various people, how can he say it's your fault for not telling him!! You have been more than fair, some people just can't help themselves!
  15. 4track for that kind of money?
  16. Oh......... I have a 25kg bag of the yellow peas!!!!!!
  17. Very good ideas. I like the chimney flue, a bit of skip dipping is on the cards I think!! To start with I was unsure the best approach, after reading walkers579's previous posts I thought I would try a feeder. All I could find were some catering size tins, like giant bean cans. Wire locked two together, a bit crude but hopefully it will be successful. Im giving peanuts mixed with whole maize a go, fingers crossed they find it.
  18. I'll be watching this thread with interest, finally I have secured some shooting permission over woodland. Visited today to get an idea of the land and to position some feeders. Very much looking forward to going back to hopefully getting some greys. It's my first time trying for squizzers so a bit of a learning curve. An enjoyable walk though, had a robin following me watching what was going on!
  19. Bfg would be my first choice, coopers my second if I wanted to save a bit of cash. I had the coopers on a disco performed very well
  20. I have no idea what it's like in your area but here I find the local dive centres are cheaper than the gun shops.

    new car

That has to be the best reply of the year so far!!!
  22. You must have been spending far too much time with fat Sarah and the landrover wanted some you time!!!!
  23. The earlier td5's can suffer head shuffle but it's no big deal as long as you know and can budget for it! Anything can be fixed, but in general yes, look for rust. There will be some for sure, have a good poke around. Generally people believe landrover should go on forever, they buy them run with no maintenance smashing them about off-road then when they start playing up sell it and moan they are unreliable! The unsuspecting new owner then has a huge repair bill and again whinges how bad they are! Take someone who has knowledge of them. Any car needs maintenance, they are mechanical and things wear out! If you are handy with the spanners you are on a winning streak already. As regards to mileage I have had a few high ones, last courtesy disco td5 I had while they mot'd mine had 225k on it. My last td5 sold with 179k on the clock running a 170bhp tune, nearly 3 years on the chap tows every week with it without a problem. I spoke to him a few months ago, apart from tyres he has had no problems!
  24. With that kind of budget you could get yourself a tidy early td5, and that would be my choice. It's a very tuneable engine for very little outlay, I'm on my second td5, this one I have had nearly 3 years and as of yet not opened the bonnet. Provided they have been looked after they are very strong. Sure they have a few design faults as does anything. people keep saying they are expensive to run, last year mine cost me a service which I do and a mot, that's it! Given the value has risen lately it actually didn't cost me a penny to run.
