  1. That's a toughie. If we're talking the round Rowntree Fruit Pastilles bought in a tubular pack, then it'd go to the Maynards Wine Gums. If, however, we're talking the differently shaped (and much fatter and softer) fruit pastilles you get by the ounce in a sweetie shop, then i'd go most definitely to those. For the record, favourite sweet is soft coconut mushrooms.
  2. John, did you ever go onto www.shootforum.com? Lots of local guys on there. You never know!
  3. No, of course it doesn't, it was to try to visualise how important the speed of the gun movement is.
  4. I have an aluminium hard gun case for sale - measures (Internally) 31" X 11". Full length metal hinge, 4 fastening points. Has combination locks, pre-set, but I have no idea how you'd change them! Has a brass plate which is blank. Only one sheet of eggbox foam. Something else will need to be used for additional cushioning. Bit too small for the franchi (only just), so no use for it. Looking for £30. Pick up only, i'm afraid, as the postage is gonna be hefty!
  5. Just trying to gauge opinion on the members' thoughts on this. I'm looking specifically for the opinions of those members who actually shoot foxes. Not just those with an opinion on the subject.
  6. Gauging distance of lead is very hit or miss - Pardon the pun. It's really about the speed at which you're swinging the gun. Experiment (No seriously) with a water hose, or squeezy washing-up liquid bottle. Watch how the water acts when you let the water out whilst swinging the bottle. That's exactly how the shot comes out of a barrel. In an elongated string. Just make sure for the fast crossers that your muzzle is travelling faster than the clay. Track behind the clay to get the line right, and then accelerate through the target, pull the trigger when you're in front of it, and - importantly - follow through on the swing. Took me a while to get the mechanics, but when I did, I started to hit the advanced targets regularly.
  7. Yep, if you have your license with you, it can be checked there and then. If you don't have it, some jobsworthy copper might take ages in checking it with the force HQ etc. Not worth leaving it at home.
  8. Here I have my old Nokia 6300 mobile phone. Very small and neat phone, reassuringly solid. Comes with charger of course. No SIM card. Was on Vodafone network originally. No idea if it works with other networks as we're all on Vodafone. Usual slight buffs you'd expect on a 2nd hand phone. £50. Consider swaps on shooting gear.
  9. If you're wanting to shoot fox aswell, my advice would be to contact your local firearms licensing office. They will advise you on whether or not ANY rimfire, and specifically which one, can be used on fox. Some force areas - Including mine - Will not allow rimfire use on fox. For the bunnies, work out what distance most of your shooting is done at. I had both .22lr and .17hmr at one stage, and ditched the .17hmr purely because most of my bunny shooting was under 80 yards. This also cut the costs of ammo, and gave me a quiet bunny calibre. Or has been stated, just get both.
  10. I know a shop that has one. It's fitted with the 9" hushpower moderator as opposed to the full length job. Think it was £150. If interested, PM me and i'll give you the details.
  11. Sorted now... had to download different file as it's the SDHC version! Cheers
  12. Yeh i'd downloaded that file already. .... _SYSTEM_ moonshl _DS_MENU.DAT _DS_MSHL.NDS I've copied all these onto the card along with a couple of roms, but the card just comes up "LOADING" when the DS is switched on.
  13. So I bought one of these cards. I've downloaded the latest "Kernel" software for it, but can't seem to work out what files to put where! Anybody help please?
  14. Yeh sure mate. Anybody else who wants them, PM me and i'll email them.
  15. Plans sent to the two who asked - Let me know if they arrived ok.
  16. I can send you plans by email (Got them from someone off here ages ago) Haven't tried it myself yet, though.
  17. Google maps is a great resource - Use the "Ruler" function to accurately measure field boundaries, and then it's just a simple calculation to work out the area. Also handy for measuring distances between landmarks for zeroing centrefires etc if you don't have a rangefinder.
  18. I've experienced something similar, where a bunny shot in the chest with a .22lr, slumped immediately after shooting, and on inspection, it's heart had been pushed out of the exit wound and was lying on the ground next to the rabbit. Not a huge mess, but the internal pressures clearly built up to a sufficient level.
  19. What's the colouration mate? Is it just wearing-off of the blueing, or is it rust? All the seals etc intact, and working well?
  20. I love those kind of images. High speed film videos are very cool aswell.
  21. Sorry mate, got your PM, but I picked up some heavy duty netting for next to nothing. Cheers anyway.
  22. My RFD takes nothing to accept guns on my behalf. Of course I buy 90% of my gear off him! But still, most take at least something. One of the good 'uns.
  23. Moderators as you will know are classed as firearms. If you are increasing the amount of held "Firearms" (Including mods) then the variation fee will apply. Pretty poor, but that's the way it is unfortunately.
