  1. As a child, I was always envious of the other kids who got Salt and Shake crisps for their snack. I don't know why really, because they're just plain crisps with a bag of salt. But I still wanted them. And I can remember to this day, the first time my mother ever bought me them. AND IT HAD TWO BAGS OF SALT!!!! Cheap thrills indeed in the late 70s! Oh, and ASDA still sell Salt and Shake, by the way.
  2. Hi mate, a member off here has expressed interest by PM. He's waiting on his variation coming through at the moment.
  3. The chilli and chocolate is a bit mingin'. Usually if you put chilli with chocolate, bitter high cocoa solids are used. This tastes more like Cadburys. Builder's Breakfast... Couldn't quite believe my taste buds: Egg first, followed by sausage, bacon and beans at the end...!!
  4. Loud people irritate me too, mate. Fair enough if you're in a pub, or social gathering, but spouting off what you've shot, and how splendid you are is just annoying.
  5. About £8 or £9 per 50 Edit: Seem to have gone up! http://www.justcartridges.com/pdf/fiocchi.pdf
  6. Nowt worse than itching to get out shooting, and you can't for whatever reason... I work every other weekend, and hate it when - as you say - Perfect shooting weather and you can't get out... it's 'orrible!
  7. Why would a "Yank" have 2 confederate flags as an avatar? Or is it ironic? Just askin And on topic, mods have a difficult job with many thousands of members.
  8. NOW GONE - THANKS Ok, well seeing as how my variation is in, I'll be selling my CZ 452 .17Hmr Rifle. It was brand new approx 8 months ago - 16" barrel (American) Complete with .17 specific DM80 moderator and 3-9 X 40 Bushnell Sportsman scope and mounts. A Brookes style kit has been fitted, and the trigger pull is now a crisp, and exact 1lb. I will supply the original factory spring as a spare. Also, it is fitted (Not particularly professionally!) with an adjustable butt pad. Again, the original can be supplied as a spare. One side of the butt has had some of the surface coating taken off - Due to me having applied masking tape - Please see the pic. Bit of a project there... Otherwise, blueing is perfect and rest of stock has the usual light marks all working guns should have. The Bushnell has slight crimp marks, but works absolutely fine. As for a price, i'd total things up as follows: Rifle : £220 Mod : £50 Scope/mounts : £40 Butt pad : £10 I'd take £300 for the lot. Of course, you'd need FAC with slot for .17hmr and sound mod. Couple more pics:
  9. Yep, I've had one for the last... ooh... 22 (Ouch) years! It's the gun that started the hobby of shooting for me.
  10. Wonder why the colony died out? I suppose gassing would eradicate them. If it was an all-out Mixymatosis epidemic, then there may well be a chance that any re-introduction would result in the same thing. Might be an illegal situation in various ways, though, as already mentioned. I'm sure lots of people release unwanted pets though, but probably not with the intention of starting a new bunny colony to be used for sporting purposes.
  11. £35 per 500 For Winchester sub hps round here last time I purchased. £25 per 500 For Remington Sub hps.

    long days!

Not really. We've only got a small mortgage compared to a lot of folk, and I suppose that's where a large chunk of a person's monthly chunk goes. Only one 8 year old kid aswell. I'm sure things will get more expensive on that front soon though!
  13. I've been called much worse... More commonly pronounced as "Airse".
  14. I sometimes wonder if there is a lack of training or knowledge with regard to some FEOs. The HMR is a MUCH safer round when it comes to ricochets. On hard ground (Or much of the time actually) .22lr is a dangerously bouncy round. I've even heard .22s zing off fully grown wheat fields. In the time i've been shooting Hmr, i've had maybe 2 audible ricochets. I'd say there's little difference between the hmr and mach2 apart from a bit of extra legs on the hmr, and as already mentioned, the added frangibility of the hmr's faster speed.
  15. Letters are usually a bit of a waste of time to be honest. Knocking on doors and introducing yourself personally tend to win over farmers. I have only ever gained one piece of land through a letter, and that was a golf course. Farmers just tend to be too busy to answer random letters from complete strangers.
  16. Thanks the lord this forum seems much more sensible than certain other shooting forums... I remember a topic like this cropped up, and a couple of self-professed "experts" went on, and on, and on about the illegalities of giving unqualified financial "advice". Nice to see freedom of speech here!
  17. Lol wot a dufus... Hook line and sunk!
  18. It certainly didn't work for a guy I know who was in the army. His FEO told him he'd need to be clear of active service for 5 years before he successfully be granted an FAC. I (and many others) reckoned this was a bit weird, but he went along with it, and is now the owner of both FAC and SGCs. Seems it doesn't always help too much.
  19. I used to work for them too. Quality of workmanship will vary greatly as mentioned. If I was buying a bathroom suite, i'd do it myself. Failing that, get some local word of mouth recommendations for local plumbers and get a couple of quotes.
  20. As long as it's a cheaply fixable problem then yeh. If it isn't, you might be able to take a lead from the headphone socket through an amp as a quick fix?
  21. Doesn't really matter too much whether it's a SBS or O/U. Most important thing is that it fits you well, and you can hit targets with it. Not much point in having an aesthetically pleasing gun that you can't hit a barn door with!
