  1. Dear all, It may be a bit early but it looks like there are no pigeons, again like last year, in my area (around RIngwood, south of Salisbury...). The peas are looking good, the barley will be combined in the next week or two, everything else seems in place but there is not the first pigeon on the fields or the sky, just like last year. My best friend is coming from the US in two weeks and we have dreamed for years about shooting pigeons together, so I am in a bit of a pickle, unless things turn around massively and soon. I am trying to see if anybody with some pigeons would be kind enough to allow us to visit, perhaps within an hour drive or so from us, and paying a fee of course, to shoot a few and scare off the rest, from the crops....so my friend can have the experience. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much...!! Juan
  2. Hello Dorsetchap..!!

I am, yet again, looking to meet new members of the shooting and hunting community, in my local area. I live in Fordingbridge and work in Ringwood....I see that you are from Poole, very close to me. I am avoid clay pigeon shooter and also very keen on shooting the real thing when the time is right. I am afraid I have been neglecting this site for a while....are you still there.??

  3. Hello all..!! I introduced myself a few months ago, when I returned to England from living in the US. I have been shooting clays and wingshooting or over 20 years, enjoying every moment of it. I just wanted to happily announce that I got my SC last week (only three months of waiting, instead of the widely predicted 9-10 months..) and I got myself a nice shotgun so I can shoot clays again and begin looking for pigeons. Since I don't have any contacts or permissions yet, I am looking for help. Ideally, I would get a shooting buddy with lots of permissions around the corner from me, but how likely is that..!!?? I am happy to pay for some pigeon shooting as it becomes available, depending on the local crops etc, in the next few months, perhaps up to 1 1/2 hour drive from me. I live in Fordingbridge, Hampshire and I will be happy to hear from any of you, even if it is to offer encouragement...!! All the best, CHUFA
  4. Hello I have been shooting clays and wingshooting for over 20 years, mainly in the US. Just moved back to UK and got my SC last week so I got myself a nice shotgun and I am ready to go. Looking to get into pigeon shooting and , since I don't have any contacts or permissions yet, I am willing to pay for some shooting as it becomes available over the next few months and depending on the local crops etc. I live around Fordingbridge- Ringwood and I am willing to travel perhaps up to 1 1/2 hours for a good place. I can be contacted here, but better at jmmartiherrero@hotmail.com. Cell is 0034 648 026 028 I would also consider helping out with whatever, in exchange for observing and learning, if you want to take me as a pupil Thanks very much. JM
  5. Hello everyone..!! I have been watching this site for a long time, reading from the comments and discussions and trying to learn in the process, for a couple of years. I was living in the US up until May 2016, when I started a sabbatical-in between jobs kinda summer in Spain and now I am ready for some serious work, so I am moving to RINGWOOD, HAMPSHIRE, in the next couple of weeks ( I am a veterinary surgeon and the kind of work I am after is hard to find in my home country...). Anyhow, I am a long-time lover of almost all things shooting, specially wing shooting (doves, pigeons, ducks, etc) and I am a regular clay pigeon shooter, although I have also been known to do some venison chasing and eating. I am really looking forward to all the shooting adventures that England can offer and I have been salivating for years now, at the prospects of going after woodpigeons to start with. YouTube is a wonderful thing so I believe I have watched every possible little film on this, specially the ones from Digweed, and also plenty of episodes of Fieldsports TV. So, first things first, and a trip to the local police station to start the process of applying for a shotgun license is the plan as soon as I arrive. I did it when I lived in London for a year in 94-95 and I know that it takes some time, including the fitting of the gun safe etc. Anyway, I just wanted to say HI and to get on with it, since there are plenty of friends to make and plenty of quarry to chase in the near future. Cheers ! CHUFAS
