  1. Just bumping up this post, incase somebody can help....
  2. Update.. I removed the bouncer from the equation, and stuck to the L pattern. Not many birds around, but bagged one yesterday - it didn't come down, but came close enough to get a clear shot. No movement today - just a waste of time!! I just don't think theres enough birds on a regular basis at the moment. So I'm now looking for somewhere else to shoot - then I might re-assess tactics.
  3. Thanks again! That's just the kind of tips I need.
  4. Bingo! I will try that next time. Thanks for all the input here..
  5. So would I be better not using the bouncer? Or just positioning it away from the other decoys?
  6. Thanks for the replies.... We have a tree line which seems to be the flight line, although some birds seem to be 'cutting corners'. I have 9 decoys, including one bouncer, which we use the horseshoe pattern. The other guy we spoke to is much more experienced, and also isn't having much luck right now.... Though it doesn't help that I'm merely a novice! We're also attempting to find other locations to try - but obviously, that's easier said than done....
  7. As above really.... My friend and I don't seem to be able to get the birds to come down to the decoys right now. We have a reasonable location on cut wheat, and there are birds seen feeding in the area. We have spoken to a more experienced shot, who has had the same proble, and puts it down to a 'bad year'. Could anyone offer advice? Or have any suggestions as to what's going on please??
  8. Hello, just wondered if there's anybody who can help please? I'm looking for some shooting opportunity for SGC in North Wilts (Swindon and surrounding area). I have been involved with clay shooting for a few years, but looking to branch out more into some occasional hunting - Rabbit\Pigeon etc.... Is there anyone who has land or permission where they wouldn't mind me doing the odd shoot? Or would let me pair up with them? I'm only looking for the occasional hobby shoot, and I can give assurance that I will not be attempting to 'steal' permissions! I am licensed, insured, and careful! Alternatively, if anyone has any info on any 'affordable' paid shooting for an average guy like me, I would be most grateful. Thanks in advance, Simon.
