  1. Thats not a bad day, thats a bloody horrible day!!!!
  2. Hi all, Went shooting last weekend decoying over oilseed rape. However only left with 5 birds. There just weren’t any in the sky overhead. Any reason for this? It was about 6 degrees and clear sky with sun shining, light breeze. Is it the time of year? Am I better off shooting over the grass field behind the two rapeseed fields? I was shooting the traditional horseshoe pattern. Thanks for any advice/tips
  3. Is there an offence being carried out by me taking these knives hunting nic? Thanks for your input
  4. What is it then??? So if this knife is available to buy in the UK Legally, what purpose is it used for then if not the purpose i use it for???
  5. That will never be the case, i always keep the knife in the gun safe. If the knife’s out, then the gun is out. Which means i’m hunting : )
  6. Quite a few big hare causing problems from the farmer, so far ive bagged 2. Im told there’s definately more : )
  7. Thanks for the response Harnser. It’s a great knife and i love using it in the field. Mainly for dressing rabbit

  9. Even a knife as substantial as this: http://www.masterofarms.co.uk/blades-axes/769-5-elk-ridge-hunting-bowie-knife.html 7 “ blade?? Thanks
  10. Hi guys, This is the only scenario where i would carry knives: - 2 opinels (lock knives) and 1 Elk ridge 12.5” Bowie (fixed blade) will be taken to the field from my owned property in the boot of my car in my field bag. - When i arrive at the land (where i have permission from the land owner to shoot) i attach 1 opinel in a pouch to my belt and the bowie in a sheath to my belt. - I mainly hunt pigeon, rabbit, pheasant and duck (both in season of course and not on a Sunday). - When im done for the day i put the knives back in my bag in the boot of the car and i drive home. IS THIS LEGAL?? IS MY REASON OF HUNTING A GOOD ENOUGH REASON TO CARRY THESE KNIVES? Links for the 2 knives are: http://www.bladesandbows.co.uk/elk-ridge-125-bowie-knife-5961 http://www.uttings.co.uk/p104756-opinel-classic-originals-high-grade-carbon-steel-knife/#.VK8TISihxic Thanks in advance for any comments

  12. Hi, Just thought i’d post a quick message to say im looking for shooting permission in either the Carmarthenshire or Powys areas of Wales (free of charge of course). Mainly rough shooting although looking to grow into decoying. I have both shotguns and air rifles and i’m also insured. Please feel free to pm me with anymore details you would like to know. Thanks
  13. I have now found out that the field is 96x68 yards at its longest and widest points. Do you think this field is big enough? Also what about the law regarding crop protection?? There aren’t any crops there. Thanks again for all the replies
  14. Hello all, Possible new permission coming up (rabbits, pigeons, crows, rats) and i just had a few questions really as i am told it is quite a small field: 1. What would be the smallest size field i would be able to shoot in (in regards to safety)? I am just thinking rough shooting at the moment. 2. Where would i stand on the fact there are no crops in the field? Hay is baled there though be it in very small quantities. I would mainly be using a shotgun 12 bore. Occasional use of a .22 sub 12ftlbs air rifle. There aren’t any neighbouring houses however the field i am told is surrounded by other fields owned by another farmer/landowner. Thanks in advance
