  1. I’m sure it will be a great gun for the hide Good luck BA Can’t wait to see it in your videos 👍
  2. No worries Big Al think if you decide to buy it according to reports from fella who has one you should have no problems with it Be interested to hear if you buy it Good luck
  3. Big Al the beretta A400 extreme is 3.5 chamber one of the lads bought one in the duck club camo version he payed a pretty penny for it He’s had no problem with it even firing 24g shells at clays due to the great gas system in it But he informed me bit heavy but fine for sitting in the hide IS IT a Extreme Plus ????? 4. My friend actually had the same problem he traded it in for a browning The dealer told him that a lot of people we’re bringing them back due to recoil issues
  5. Peter I’ve no problem you doing any tests It can only help people who are unsure but I’ve been shooting standard steel thru my old gun I’ve mentioned seasons Now with no ill effects on the gun barrels or chambers Same as other wildfowlers on this forum also have posted before on standard steel on older shotguns Good luck anyway il be interested to see the Results 👍
  6. I’ve said this on this forum multiple times standard steel can be shot thru older guns with no problems (maybe not Damascus barrels ) Again my 1979 Aya no3 magnum is still going strong with Standard Steel Wildfowlers have been using it years over here
  7. LB You’re not asking for much 🤭😀
  8. THIS ☝️☝️☝️ I still shot my S/S even for clays but your correct with the explosion 💥 of clay pigeon shooting over the decades the o/u has become quite popular BUT have to admit there’s something about side by sides when you handle one Maybe I watched too many cowboy 🤠 movies 👊
  9. London Best I was a scared 😳 to say that lol 😃Didn’t want to put the lad off 😃
  10. If you want my opinion buy a o/u if your going to be shooting clays as the lads say you might get odd looks turning up.to pheasants with a semi auto Also A o/u in my opinion is easier to learn with and if you’re budget is for a £500 semi auto some brands have issues with cycling certain shells I have used numerous semiautomatics over the years for Wildfowling BUY A O/U
  11. Thanks Ryan I’ve just emailed optics warehouse for information on the pard add/on to see if it fit’s Schmitt bender 6x42 scope but not 100 percent sure if NV Will work for me lol
  12. cheers mate il have a look online Yes mate using scope mounted torch I can find awkward using it but have shot foxes That looks like a good deal my friend 👍 Thanks for reply’s lads everyone I know uses NV THERMAL ETC I know it does work But I’m set in my ways so it’s probably be some sort of Lamping outfit 👍👍
  13. Well lads new year new resolution is to go out more foxing on my own wanted advice I use a scope mounted torch on my 222 but a friend of mine uses this head lamp when shooting on he’s own and thinks it’s better than the scope torch I don’t want to go down the road of NV ETC as I love my Schmitt @Bender scope and I’m old fashioned lol Any Opinions
  14. 1st class Dave lovely gun 👍👍
  15. Fantastic write up 👍As you said the gun might not be worth much financially but is priceless for your memories that’s what Wildfowling all about My old Aya no3 magnum something similar not worth much but I absolutely love bringing the old gun out When I can get off my boney ****
  16. When I bought my new browning o/u few months back I noticed some of the choke threads in the box looked as if there was slight rust on them even thou they had never been used so I steeped them in small amount of oil in glass then wiped them down with dry cloth seemed to do the trick
  17. Great write up MM The season does go quick Mine in regards to getting out wasn’t great I only went out one morning due to work/family commitments AND if I’m being Honest I’ve got lazy Any Saturday I was off work I couldn’t get motivated to get up early to go to the lough I’m just realising now what a waste of season In my part But now the season has come to a finish my motivation has came back ahh 😌 we’ll too late Made a promise to myself all being well new season I will be out a lot more Thanks for posting 👍👍👍👍😉Gerry
  18. Just brilliant MM unfortunately modern day life can be crazy were I work but me getting the odd morning out for ducks 🦆 brings me back to relaxation for a few hours anyway Great post 👍👍
  19. Yet Again MM your Wildfowling stories are fantastic takes you back to a time when life was more simple as well as getting a shot on the marsh or not it didn’t matter just being out with your dog Good enough You should put a book together with these tales Il have to check out that photo I’m sure you’re the best looking Fella in It thanks for posting mate Gerry 😉😉😉
  20. Yes I actually thought it was pretty good the guy Paul kept it simple and still shoots big bags enjoyable watch 👍
  21. Yes MM I’m not disagreeing regarding tradition But if I’m told on that small DIY Shoot to use a break open action that’s what I’m going to use In saying that the same shoot captain uses all manner of night vision and thermals for shooting foxes on the shoot So the years of a duo of rifle shots one using a lamp the other the rifle are long gone Some off the other lads have posted that a semi auto or pump is no more less safe than a break open action which is probably correct but it’s in are minds seeing a gun broke open looks safer if that makes sense
  22. MM I wouldn’t call myself a game shooter(pheasants) professional I beat and take the odd day on a DIY Syndicate using a o/u or s/s But this question was brought up last year to the shoot captain before the season started He’s reply was tradition he’s belief was that tradition is the only thing field sports has left I know this doesn’t really answer the question fully But nobody argued
  23. Happy New Year my friend to you and Conor the sighs and sounds can be magical I hope yous get a shot if not just being out is all that matters good luck 🤞
