  1. When you pull into the petrol station and go to the farside pumps, only to find the out of fuel signs on the them.
  2. I have said it before Ditchy, you certainly have some very enviable culinary skills and that looks delicious. Egg fried rice is no easy cook in my opinion (if you catch my drift) and you certainly appear to have done it justice here. All ingredients look perfect presentation. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
  3. I find myself returning to this video every now and then, I posted it up a few years back and thought I would put it up again for those that like this sort of thing. A short animation by artist Steve Cutts. A classic in which I am sure in some way will resonate with most. It never gets old!
  4. Another superbly presented ravioli. Looks delish!
  5. What a fascinating account, hell knows, I don't think I could of done it. Very humbling! Thank you harry for taking time to post.
  6. A very well presented plate that is. I am salivating!
  7. With a good dosing of black pepper, that gets my thumbs up. πŸ‘
  8. That plate looks delicious ditchy, the chips being the winner in my humble opinion, they look like a 'waxy' spud type which I tend to think makes a great chip.
  9. Posted a link for your article MM. https://www.edp24.co.uk/news/23888900.farmers-paid-not-keep-pigs-bad-news/ Taken from the article. 'Natural England had imposed a halt on new housing in a large area of Norfolk until the authorities could come up with a way of reducing the levels of pollution in local rivers.' 'And by reducing the amount from agriculture - by paying a farmer not to keep pigs near two major rivers on the southern outskirts of Norwich - officials will be able grant permission for 5,000 homes elsewhere.' A economic loss for the area, green land out of use and sucking of the public purse. I lost a permission about 10 years ago which was around about 60 or 70 acres that was sold for housing development, it took the farming brothers over 20 years to get planning permission and cost them a small fortune, but they got it in the end. They sold it for for over 2.5million and retired. Who wouldn't!
  10. That is very interesting apparatus John and thank you for posting it up as per harrycat request. A moderate wind and a bit of drizzle here overnight, better this morning with only a light wind and no rain. Tons of rain in the past month, in my 50 plus years here I never known a very local spot to flood so frequently. I drove through it the other morning and it was akin to the infamous 'rufford ford' and by the next morning the police had caudoned it off so I had to detour. Sadly for several houses in the spot they are flooded out again and again, they now leave the sandbags in place all year round. I am constantly astonished at the sheer volumes of rain that can fall, our small 8x6 office in the garden can fill the 100 litre water butt from 24 hours of heavy rain roof run off.
  11. Patient Woof Woof. Hoping for leftovers. Me thinks there will be none!
  12. Just 'quaffing' the 'Elixir' with a dash of lemonade. Very nice! A tad alcoholic I may add.
  13. Looks Tasty! Harry, what is the green stuff?, is it to 'pique' the palate or simply an embellishment.
  14. She looks like a beautiful dog. I am sure she has had the most wonderful life that any running dog could wish to have. From the look at your pictures I assume she must have had hundreds of hours marking and behind the ever bolting bunny. I bet when she is curled up after a days ferreting that she emits small excitory whimpers in her sleep dreaming of the the rabbit which is always just within a breaths reach. Superb!
  15. AND THE WINNER IS; DRUM ROLL ........... Docleo with the highest guess at Β£178.50 The actual cost for the whole trolley was eye watering and even I was shocked at Β£305.44. Quite a few were hidden items that could not be seen in the trolley such as a bulk pack of razor blades at Β£26 which were the single most expensive thing in the trolley. But to me when we got to the checkout even though the trolleys are very, very big it still looked sparse. Made me bloody wallet sparse I know that. Costco, should be called 'COSTBLOW' Anyway congratulations Docleo and will send you a pm. Thank you all for taking part. atb 7diaw
  16. I remember it well and actually watched it a few months back as it was on. Still as good as ever Steve. I thought James Mason played a fantastic character. The archetypal englishman. Face The Master!
  17. Back in the day used to fire rockets out of drainpipes, just like a rocket launcher. Superb stuff! Singed me eyebrows once making a 'Genie' from the powder out a load of fireworks. I am a lot more sensible in my older years.
  18. Below is a pic of a recent shop done at Costco. We do a stock up every six months or so on some essentials and always end up throwing some rubbish in the trolley. The shop among other things has a case of wine, large case loo rolls, several big bag freezer items, large birthday cake (was my daughter's) case of coke (for over christmas) and quite lot of other items that you cannot see in the trolley. The trolley is larger than the large supermarket trolleys. To whoever can guess what the nearest total cost was will win 15 bottles of my homemade elderflower champers. This years batch is a lot drier than the usual sweeter batches and this was due to using champagne yeast in the batch. Alcohol wise it is not overly potent but can make one a 'little merry'. Will anounce the winner tomorrow eve at 21.00. I will post it out to the winner in the next couple of weeks delivered to your door. Best way to quaff it is to leave it in the fridge for 24 hours as the cooling drives the c02 back into the liquid. Drink it straight if you like dry, if not add a little lemonade to sweeten. If on tasting that it is not to your palate, simply use it as a 'fragrant drain cleaner' and I will not be offended in any way. Disclaimer: Quaff at your own risk.
  19. I liked the first half of your lunch John but not the second. Ditchy that bacon looks superb! Looks to me like it has been done in the pan which is the best way in my opinion and not dried out under the grill. I salivating now.
