  1. I was thinking about having a go at the stock myself as I have done an SMK but I'm a bit worried about what to do with the checkering, I don't want to touch the bluing as I haven't a clue.
  2. I have been given a hw77 from the 80s, the bluing is worn and the wood has loads on dings in it. I don't think it has ever been touched. Any recommendations on someone to tidy it up for me and a Ball park figure of the cost. Cheers, Storm
  3. John, Any chance you could email me a copy of the tuning guide as I have a 78 I am wanting to tinker with. Cheers, Nick
  4. You won't look back, I moved to a similar force and it's great. Always finish on time for a start. Can't believe you have to do a full coarse! I took my quals with me.
  5. Not much to see It's gone to the great scrapyard in the sky now! The only thing that is anoying is that the new barrel comes with a choke but they can't guarantee that it will be another 1/4 to replace the damaged one, so I will have to see what arrives.
  6. Barrels bulged and part of of the choke ripped out, I was using 21g 7.5. 1/4 choke.
  7. Haven't managed to get out this season due to work but thought I would have an hour on the clays with my sxp to get my eye in. Didn't notice anything untoward at the time but when I got back home noticed I have managed to blow my barrel around the choke. Have to wait 2 weeks for a new barrel, but it could have been a lot worse!
  8. I have forgotten my gun before, but luckily I only live 10 mins from the foreshore.
  9. Airgun spares are chambers and they are out of stock.
  10. It's definitely a mk1 and I watched the spring ping off, chambers are out of stock. The only replacement I have found is the full sight and its £40
  11. I have lost the spring off the rear sight on my mk1 meteor. Anyone have a mk1 meteor who can measure the spring for me. As I'm looking for a diy replacement. Thanks Storm
  12. I have an SXP wildfowl that I use on the foreshore I love it for the money, it's only done a season but has been faultless. The next fowling gun I will buy will be a baikal semi as I hear lots of great things about them (not because of anything wrong with my SXP and I won't be getting rid of it)
  13. Does anyone have any old cheap air rifles lurking in the back of wardrobes etc that they no longer want. I have just had a go at restoring an SMK b2 with my lad ( it's still only a tin can plinker) but we enjoyed every minute of it, so I am looking to get a few projects to see me through before the airgun licensing hits and they all disappear to the loft for evermore. Anything and any make considered, springer or CO2. Must be cheap as the guns aren't worth a lot of money and neither am I. Thanks for looking. Storm.
  14. I think basic brewing tv on youtube did some episodes on how to make it a few years ago
  15. All, This is truly my final post on the subject, what I stated is true. However some of the posters are right and I am not going to post information which my jepodise either my job or people's safety to prove a point on the Internet. Tony r is correct that I shouldn't have posted my comment as I knew that I would be unable to give the specifics that people want. Tony r my post seems to have offended you and for that I am truly sorry. I spend my life dealing with confrontation and I try to happy go lucky life while out of work. I do not go out of my way to upset anyone and I have some how seemed to have upset you. Again I am sorry and I will try to delete my offending post. All the best Storm in a teacup
  16. Not really as most of it is not something you could put on an open forum due to the government marking restrictions. But Taser training takes a few days, firearms training takes between 4-6 weeks for the standard AFO. And that's me out!
  17. I have never seen any of the police with SAW's at any nuclear power station in the country and over the last few decades I have worked at all of them.
  18. I'm BBQing some pheasant tomorrow and I jerky goose breast as I need them from frozen. Not noticed any difference.
  19. My condolences, but it gets easier. Today is the 1st anniversary of my dads passing.
