  1. Hello All Recently relocated from South Lincolnshire to north East Lincolnshire with work, been shooting 30 years , fully insured with both SEC 1 & 2 . BASC / NRA safe shooter Looking for a game syndicate for winter and general opportunities from here on in - June 21 Anything considered if its available Many thanks Dave (Scartho, Grimsby)
  2. All I have recently got back into shotgunning after a break of several years , I shoot both clays and rough / pigeons. Just by looking on the net there appears to be a whole host of various cartridge manufactures offering shells at differing prices. My question is what is the difference between a budget cartridge and a premium cartridge which has the same load and shot size? Generally see a price swing of £30 for 250. Are there any distinct advantages in purchasing the more expensive cartridge?
  3. I,ll give it a try not seen it before cheers Monkey
  4. All When I was cleaning the shotguns post a days shooting today I noticed that 3/4 of the length of the bore had a quantity of what appeared to be un-burnt powder flakes in it. What would cause this? I was using RC Romagnola which where purchased yesterday so as far as I am aware they have been manufactured recently. The cartridges were stored overnight at room temperature etc. The only thing I can think of was when we got out in the field this morning the ambient temperature was around freezing but rose to circa 5 degrees C around noon. They were kept at the back of the hide in a waterproof cartridge bag still in the manufactures boxes ahead of be used. Any Ideas?
  5. Great advise Guys you've put me on the right track many thanks to you all.
  6. Cheers Guys that's good advise - still got the gun thankfully Used to shoot gamebore 32gram 6`s what's the cartridge of choice nowadays ?
  7. Hi Guys Apologies if I`m covering old ground but would like to ask the advise of the members. I used to decoy Pigeons around 15 years ago across 800 acres of mixed arable land, had varying success but by no means the bag sizes I've seen posted. All I had was a collection of a dozen pigeon shells, hide made in the hedgerow and that was it! Work commitments and children basically put a stop to the shooting until now. I've got the opportunity next year to start pigeon shooting again over various locations. It has become obvious from my research on the net that there`s a host of various different gadgets to assist in attracting the birds. My question is what should I buy? Still got my dozen shells (that's it) - what would be a good starting point in relation to the kit I need to start again, but take advantage of the various equipment available? Reckon I`ve got around £300 to spend at the moment . Any advise would be greatly received. cheers
