  1. You said Blair was a great bloke too though. We are not the same
  2. I dont think you get it , labour IS the hard left, red flag waving, quasi communist entity its always been , just that sometimes it wears tory clothes so it can get a stint in power, before eventually getting put back in its box again, after its messed up the economy, and society. No doubt the first order of the day will be to give the vote to 16 year old woke conditioned kids , and any asylum seeker with right to remain, thus ensuring they can stay in power as long as possible ? They are already talking to the EU , trying to set up a working group.... The net result will not be the 'new' tories you think itll be, that come back to try and rectify the mess, it will be the hard right we are all taught to fear. The same play will happen across Europe, as those disenfranchised seek recourse. They say you dont get the government you vote for, you get the government you deserve, so get ready to reap the whirlwind
  3. Youll be saying that about about the conservatives in a few years, when labour and the hard left have ruined your retirement
  4. What , she's claiming universal credit too ? 🤣
  5. Forgive me for assuming, but I'm getting this nagging feeling you don't like Trump very much 😄
  6. They were polytheistic , they had a tonne of them.
  7. How could they do any different ? The very fact it could happen in a 'free' society is very damaging , and embarrassing. They have helped the cause they hate so much, and exposed themselves to what they really are about.
  8. So the big bag commercial shoots end up where ? Most of these large shoots charge YOU the consumer to pay around £50 a bird to actually shoot them, so the money isnt in the meat obviously, at £2 a bird, if youre lucky. Can you not see the contradiction here ? Another contradiction, BASC views large commercial shoots as perfectly acceptable , the many £1000s per day that these shoots command is the driver, the meat produced is an unimportant side line , but the excuse, the 'ethics' of shooting large numbers of bred targets are what is being used to justify it. Indeed , it is BASC et al that are perfectly happy to see others sport curtailed, to not inconvenience its own interests.
  9. One of the main reasons the mayor used to stop the meeting , was that 'far right' attendees were homophobic and transphobic, and there were reports of hate speech going on inside, despite banning the use of the previous 2 venues before any speech had been uttered ! Yet last year he hosted a hard line Islamic mayor, whose city regularly persecutes , and executes those who practice the above traits... Dont you find that even a teeny weeny bit hypocritical ? I dont think he was there TBH.
  10. Isnt that what free speech is all about , choice ? Beat me to it
  11. "The Mayor of the City of Brussels, who pressured the venue hosting the National Conservatism conference not to do so, hosted the mayor of the Iranian capital in June 2023, it has emerged. Mayor Philippe Close of the Socialist Party reportedly pushed the Concert Noble to pull out from hosting the event a matter of days before it was due to start on April 16. However, on June 12 2023 Close posted an image on X of a collection of mayors from around the world, including the mayor of Tehran, at the Brussels Urban Summit hosted at the Town Hall. Tehran mayor Alireza Zakani was placed under sanctions by the UK in 2023 on the grounds that he had been "involved in the commission of serious human rights violations or abuses in Iran". He was also reportedly an Iranian paramilitary prior to becoming the capital city's mayor. According to Faces of Crime, Zakani was the chair of the Supreme Assembly of the paramilitary group Basij between 2016 and 2019. Last year, weeks before attending the conference in Belgium, Zakani said that women who defied rules around wearing the hijab would be prevented from using the Tehran metro. According to UAE outlet The National, Zakani said: "We will proceed according to the country’s laws in this regard. Our first step is issuing notices, then we issue warnings to the unveiled women, and in the third stage we prevent them from entering the metro stations." News about Zakani's invitation to the Brussels Town Hall comes after NatCon, attended by Nigel Farage, Suella Braverman, and British academic Matt Goodwin, was temporarily shut down after a local official called in the police. Emir Kir, the mayor of Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, a municipality of Brussels where the event was being held, told Politico earlier today that he would "immediately take measures to ban" the event. This was the third attempt to prevent NatCon from proceeding, after Mayor Close pressured Concert Noble to cancel the event, before the mayor of Etterbeek pushed the second choice venue - the Sofitel hotel - to cancel it too. Despite authorities descending on the third choice of venue, police then appeared to back off. Sky News' Darren McCaffrey who was the scene wrote on X: "Police now suggesting they won’t be dragging people out of NatConTalk conference in Brussels but rather their tactic is that they are not letting anyone else in and people can leave and not re-enter the venue. Meanwhile, Suella Braverman is continuing to deliver her speech."
  12. And that well known 'far right' nazi skinhead err, Suella Braverman https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/national-conservatism-conference-brussels-shut-down-police-b2529501.html I mean , even the left wing press is a bit ashamed of this kind of err, fascist behaviour from the mayor and police. Shut down free speech ? Whatever next....
  13. I think I need to remind you (again) Joe Biden is the president of the US. Trump plays golf.
  14. Anyway back on topic. This man says if the Israelis would have just given him the price of a patriot missile (£4 million) he would have just landed it, and spent the rest of his life in luxury !
  15. Its a 'terror state' that sits on the UN security council ? Why dont they kick them out and blast them out of existence ? Johnson, a Louisiana Republican who ascended to the speakership after the ousting of Kevin McCarthy in October, has long pledged to put forward a bill to approve further rounds of military aid to Ukraine in its ongoing war against Russia. Such a bill has been routinely advocated for by President Joe Biden, with Ukrainian leaders warning that they will lose the war without it. The matter has faced strong headwinds, however, in the bitterly divided Republican House caucus, with further-right members like Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia strongly opposing any continued funding for Ukraine, and others wanting to hold such funding back until stricter U.S.-Mexico border laws can be passed. Johnson has been seen in some corners as stalling on aid in order to protect his position, considering that Greene has threatened to put forward a motion to vacate the speakership if he moves forward with Ukraine aid. On Friday, Julia Davis, founder of the Russia Media Monitor watchdog group, shared a clip from one of the Moscow's state-run news programs, in which pundits touched on a planned meeting between Johnson and former President Donald Trump at the latter's Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida, with one guest suggesting that Trump's influence could be the deciding factor in the fate of further aid to Ukraine. So hes a Russian plant , like Trump ,because a journo says so ? Funny how all Bidens (and his sons) accusers are all liars, and all Trumps accusers are telling the truth ? Despite hard evidence to the contrary. https://oversight.house.gov/the-bidens-influence-peddling-timeline/
  16. Its actually from 2 years ago. Conors comment about progress just made me think about the BASC stance over the years, even Swifty at one point was opposed to lead bans, then came LAG , somehow it morphed into this anti lead agenda that split BASC , and ended up with them fighting against LAG, and winning in 2016, on the basis that proof was needed before lead could be considered for restriction. Then in 2020 , with no real new evidence, BASC appeared to turn away from this core mentality, and that lead was indeed 'toxic' and thats where we are today. It makes you wonder how these people have such conviction, then suddenly change their minds... A shrewd observation, one that applies to all these 'at risk' from lead poisoning birds that no one seems able to find.
  17. Like what , I thought we wanted to keep our arms industry 'in house' or within the EU ? This Mike Pence ? https://www.rferl.org/a/russia-pence-claim-threat/28532152.html Do you mean his commitment to end the war through negotiation, rather than keep it going 'to the last Ukrainian' which appears to be the wet dream of some dem politicos ? He stated clearly, he just wanted the killing to stop, its not about supporting Russia at all. Trumps not in power , so the policy as it stands, stays the same. Do the US subsidise NATO? Yes. Should they have to ? No. Trump is in no position to influence ANYTHING ! Hes not even a member of the senate or house of reps, Ill think youll find the Biden administration could easily get past some military aid for Ukraine, they choose not to , as they will never get that investment back, so just blame the GOP for it. Honestly ! You said Trump would be exposed and jailed for this YEARS ago, if he had received 1 rouble from the Kremlin , we would have heard about it by now. Biden on the other hand, HAS received monies from a foreign power, but what do we get ? Tumbleweed
  18. Russia and NATO both gave assurances to Ukraine that they would be looked after if they 'gave up' the nukes. But lets look at it rationally, Ukraine was never going to allowed to keep those nukes, the nuke club is pretty exclusive, with only a handful of states allowed to have them, even Israel doesnt admit to having them (but it does) because its never been given permission by well , whoevers in charge of nuke licences Err, Trumps already been in, and the administration wasnt controlled by Moscow, does that not kind of negate that argument ? Trumps Russian collusion syndrome has been thoroughly debunked after multiple investigations, and was clearly a sour grapes DNC fake news plot, any other conclusion is just not realistic. As for flip flopping , can you give an example ?
  19. I never realised you thought of the US like that, would you care to explain the reasoning ? Im not necessarily disagreeing with you, personally I think the US would use whatever leverage and resources from us, or anyone else, for their own benefit, any day of the week, but we do have ancestral ties to them, which transcend most other countries. For my part, Iran are playing a clever but dangerous game of chess with Israel. To elaborate, Israeli defence (and offense) is based on hi tech, high cost weaponry, and while Iran does have some hi tech stuff, its based more on low tech, high volume. Its said that Israel spent over a billion dollars defending itself from the Iranian attack of some 200 drones and missiles, its also said that Iran could have as many as 20,000 shahed drones, and an unknown number of cruise and ballistic missiles. Israel claims to have shot down 99% of the inbound threats, so a rough calculation means that 2 got through , but caused minimal damage, yet I saw a video that showed 3 missiles striking roughly the same place within a minute ? Claims aside, if this escalates, Israel is an an economic loser, even it it broadly 'wins' , and while no land invasion is technically possible from either side, the land areas of the 2 sides are pretty disproportionate , there are just more places where Iran could hide launch sites ect. This creates a huge problem for the US , its already heavily involved in Ukraine, with Zelensky screaming for Patriot batteries and missiles (at 4 million dollars a pop, and billions for the battery) Israel does have some home grown air defence like iron dome, but if this barrage from Iran continues , those batteries could be easily depleted. China , a close ally of Iran, casts its beady eye on Taiwan, again needing air defence and fighters, (which even now , could not stand up to a proper Chinese attack), could feasibly end up fighting 3 proxy wars at once. Does it have the capacity to do this, I dont believe it does. I think if it came to a choice of who to support, the US would choose Israel over the other two, at least they would get some payment for it. Which leaves the other two in a leaky boat with no paddle, and thats why the US will be desperate to convince Israel to bide its time, and not escalate. Will they listen, because they certainly havent listened over Gaza.
  20. Irish greys of course ! I began researching this bird in 1991, working closely with the National Parks and Wildlife Service and Board na Mona. Together we conducted research into the population dynamics of the remaining birds and identified the requirements of the population in an Irish context. With the support of several state and semi-state bodies we successfully plucked the species from the jaws of extinction due to the lead minefields in the area, increasing the population from a low of 24 birds to almost 1,000 birds in 2011. The project continues to operate at Boora, County Offaly, Ireland
