  1. Just done mine with Hampshire on line. I didn't see anywhere were they wanted a scanned copy of my SGC though... They say 6 weeks to get it back.
  2. |Have a look at the previous version Audi A6 estate - if the dealers have any left they are giving £7-£8k off list before you haggle. Very comfy, quiet and economical.

    Le Mans 24 hours

Been 3 times - late 80's early 90's Saw the Jags coming in 1,2,3 (was it Pescarolo's Porsche that blew up on last lap?) . The screaming Mazda's and then the thumping Merc Silver arrows and Aston Martin. Will go back some time.
  4. All time worse film was Captain Correlli's Mandolin. Ignoring the awful acting it was how they devastated the plot at the end. I threw the dvd away!
  5. Actually the £500m will most likely stay in the UK economy - the company that won the deal will be printing them in their factory in Fareham!
  6. And then maybe they could sell the milk so they became self-funded - oh wait....
  7. I think Gordon has it spot on here. In the very few times the conviction is beyond ANY doubt i.e. Lee Rigby killers where he was arrested still wielding the knife at the scene, then yes I would support it. In every other case of conviction where it is beyond REASONABLE doubt then no.
  8. I immediately thought the same thing!

Absolutely most gun owning Americans would oppose any form of control - my point is that If the US government did manage to bring in control of such weapons, I do not believe that the majority of these individuals would consciously want to become a criminal. Say for example you have a gun owning lawyer who's hobbies include going into the desert and firing off his semi automatic - would he risk his profession by refusing to hand it in if it became illegal? Don't get me wrong - it will need a massive and maybe impossible sea change in the US and an appetite to face-off the NRA.

The argument that is trotted out each time about the number of legally held guns and if guns were banned would mean all these guns would go underground is just rubbish. Firstly most sensible Americans would not want to see ALL guns banned - instead there should be gun control - a different thing. That would and should take out the ability to own these semi-automatic weapons. Secondly the argument that they would then go underground or be kept illegally is basically massively flawed. If there was a law passed that banned these, do they not think that the vast majority of owners would comply with this law and hand them in? Why do they think the average American wants to suddenly become a criminal by not handing them in? Yes of course a percentage would keep them. Yes of course a percentage of the guns would disappear - but that's the point - I would wager the majority of them would get removed from circulation. Take some of these school killings - the kid involved in general used his fathers weapons. Most people I would suggest do not know how to obtain an illegal gun on the black market. So yes the kid might get hold of a handgun but not an assault rifle. Yes he would kill, but logic dictates there would be fewer deaths. Surely this would go someway to controlling these awful occurrences?
  12. Monkey Shoulder is blended from 3 MALTs - (Glenfiddich, Balvennie, and Kininvie) - very nice whisky to be fair.
  13. Remember it on the news. Drove along the A4 from Marlborough to Hungerford not the other day, past the garage on the left where it started I believe!
  14. If you're looking at going abroad, try Ljubljana in Slovenia. Fly with Wizz airways from Luton (£85 odd return). Fantastic food - Boar, Venison, Bear (!) , great wines, very friendly people. Stay in Grand Union Hotel near main square.
  15. My take on the whole episode is that two distinct points have been morphed into one, mainly by the press. On one hand, I do believe Trump is right in saying that there was violence and intent on both sides - ok one individual took it to the next level with his car. What I personally think he has done wrong is not to come out and condemn the extreme right wing fanatics - KKK, Nazi party etc. I'm sure none of us on here would condone these people. The problem Trump has is that this group comes across as "true red blooded Americans" and are the ones who fall for all the MAGA rhetoric.
