Shooting clays, Boxing, taking my daughter for pancakes, setting up decoys and waiting.
  1. Try having the battery as far from the rotary as the cord will allow and place a shell decoy on top of it. I try not to have the rotary too close to the pattern as I think some pigeons are spooked by it if they get too close to it, although by then they should be close enough to confidently shoot anyway. But trial and error is the best way to learn
  2. Have been at this for about 4 years andthis is the 1st time I have had them come in so consistently low , maybe I am getting the hang of it.
  3. Saw lots of pigeons feeding on a strip of land that I have permission for but rarely shoot as its a bit out of the way . Set up with trees at my back wind coming from behind me and decoys out in front ( no magnet, used one of the 3 bird carousels for a bit of movement). Now the odd bit. Brds would come from behind fly well past the pattern as if not interested only to circle way off and fly in low , very very low back into the decoys maybe only 1.5 m off the ground the whole approach , made for the easiest shoot I have ever had but do not understand why. Has anyone else had this before It was pretty windy but not gale force with light rain
  4. I had an Aprilla Pegasso that I bought as a cheap run around, ended up as my favourite ever bike was so easy to handle it felt like sitting on a pedal bike
  5. One star left barrel and three stars on the right, so this is full/half choke. is that right Thanks for the info , everyone has been excellent
  6. I may be pushing my luck now but does anyone know about the other 2 marks above the 1430
  7. Hi, the letters are FN , thanks for this. Its really interesting to know Thankyou
  8. Thankyou for looking at it for me, am going to give it some TLC and get another 34 years from it Thanks again
  9. Hi i bought this old Hudson(Had never heard of them) Side by side on the weekend, just to take out in rough weather and to take apart and play with really. First shot from the right barrel got me this little fella , ended the afternoon with 12 in total but this was the one that made my day. have another post going in General shooting matters trying to figure out the exact age of the gun just out of interest . Regardless of how old it is, it still does a job and only set me back £195. it was a bit wet and windy but the 1st pigeon with an old (new to me) Gun made it worth while
  10. And here is the top HUDSON Made in Spain am under the impression it may be Spanish made for an American company
  11. hope this picture comes out ok , the proof marks are on here serial is FN 177925 hope someone can help me age this beast Many thanks Ryan
  12. Thanks everyone , will take a picture later on and post it on here

  14. Ok thanks for the heads up will keep that in mind. Am really only after the wood pigeons myself but am sure the farmer would prefer them all gone. Cheers
