  1. +1 on the increases being reasonable, I've only just paid for my SGC on the older fees but would of happily paid the new ones. £80 for 5 years isn't bad!
  2. Interesting thought. But if it was illegal, surely the RFD wouldn't have allowed me to do that? Also, when people put a deposit down on a rifle, even with an FAC, but don't have the space, what happens then?
  3. Once found £50 in the self checkout scanner in Tesco, went to the customer service desk and was told they can't take it back, suggested I waited for the legal owner of it and I waited 10 minutes before they said to just go and think of it as a lottery win!
  4. +1 on Malmo! Very friendly and approachable. He picked out a few that he thought would fit me, let me shoulder them and checked for fit et voila, hello Browning B425! Even without your SGC/FAC, they'll let you put a deposit down on the one you like/that fits.
  5. It's not just wind pushers that do this... most commercial vessels do it too. We had thick fog in China, surrounded by fishing boats, radar & ais going nuts. I was called up from the engine to assist as a look-out. I could see hatch no. 9, about 25m in front of me, with another 225 of ship ahead of that! God knows what we hit/narrowly avoided. As we entered the Chinese smog area. Sat Nav's have a great use, I use mine as a reference guide, I don't let it dictate my driving style or how I drive. But i do use it to anticipate/read corners on country roads, as lets face it, having a good razz around the countryside is great fun! It's good to know if there is a long sweeper or tight 90 bend coming up and let's me prepare for it.

Looking for £120 posted.
  7. Sadly no more, all the RTM vessels flagged out to Singapore while I was last on-board. Sad day for the British fleet! Still managed from Glasgow and London however!
  8. This will be my summer jaunt... 4 months in the Australian summer time, shame I'll be working
  9. +1 on taking someone, I've just put a deposit down on a B425, cracking deal and the RFD was more than helpful! Even got to shoot a few clays to try it out! Now just waiting for my SGC to be processed!
  10. What are the prices like for Blackpool SC? I shoot at Toplands, in Woodplumpton, but it's only every 2 weeks the shoot. Wouldn't mind something to fill in the gaps.
  11. I am a UK resident. I qualify for a 0% tax rate due to being out of the country for greater than 183 days P/A - under the SED, Seafarers Earnings Deduction. I work for 3/5 of the year, away from home, family, friends with little or no internet access and the only 'family' I have are the 20 or so people on the ship for 3 months at a time. I pay voluntary NI contributions as it stands and full council tax, even when my property is vacant during my sea service periods. What bugs me most is those that go through the education system, have decent enough qual's to get a job, but won't, because they're better off on the dole. Those who have worked 30 years and get made redundant, sure, they're entitled to state help. They've paid in.
  12. I agree that the taxation on our oilworkers needs to be lowered or eliminated inline with the SED/FED to keep north sea oil competitive with the Saudi's. I am randomly drug tested while at uni for my shipping company and so can't drink to excess or take XYZ... I have friends who have done the whole uni game, and now cannot be bothered to find a job, it's beneath them. Lazy *****!! I'm glad I won't be paying into the UK tax system when I finish and get employed, less of my money to go to the feckless.
  13. Just put in my application for my SGC with Merseyside. I'd like to think that they wouldn't do this, considering my age, 23. However, I think they would measure up an application through age, occupation, location etc - Much like car insurance. I know that occupation has nothing to do with it, but it may be one of the things they look at.
  14. Not sure on DC voltages, but the waveform term is known as 3. The plotting of the resulting pattern when amplitude changes with respect to time. What level is this for? GCSE, A level, Degree? RE Q1, does it make use of a rectifier/transformer? My electrical knowledge is limited to marine electrotech, ask me about big heavy 2 stroke diesels and you're onto a winner!
  15. I tried yesterday, the response was office hours, so will try tomorrow. I wanted to get it sent out first thing in the morning so it's on its way and closer to getting sent back to me.
