It is not permitted to use guns with devices fitted which have magnifying, light emitting, forward lead displacement properties, or give visual enhancement of the target. first thing to ask yourself Chrs88 is do you need one for an eye dominance prob, or is there another issue

Same for me, been out today near some houses to the rear, had a lot of birds though good day now a bit warmer, birds decoyed well

Good Evening All The Basc Shotgun Safe Shot, is now available online as a Theory assessment, its free to have a go. basc.org.uk > basc-training-courses You will need to do the practical side of the certificate once we can do these things again, but you can see how you do with the 25 questions. you will need to answer 80% correctly to pass. There is a list of assessors online too, so you can book in for the practical side if you would like the certificate and badge to show your syndicate or club you are a safe shot. Hi All i have the pleasure of running the courses in your Central region nicknsd1978, We have good feedback from the days and manage to cover a lot in the time we have. Mainly classroom in the morning covering the law around pigeon shooting, shotgun law etc, then outside for hide building, decoying and some shooting from a seat in the hide at some clays we will help you with a bit of gun fit, eye dominance and coach you while you shoot. i enjoy doing the courses as I get to learn from peoples success and failures and pass on my knowledge to help as much a poss obviously at the moment things are a bit different but we are booking future courses so if you contact the ladies in the office you should be able to book on one course is £45 for members Look forward to meeting you if you decide to come along take care all

Went to have a look lunchtime but so much rain they were sitting in the trees watching the field but no birds down on the crop. Hopefully better weather tomoz bit of sun will get them moving about.

Yep some of our wheat is only a foot high so they are getting at it without it laying flat. No rape on my permission this year so won’t be having a day on the stubble 🙁

Hi all. our wheat is still green in mid Warwickshire, barley is changing from green to yellow in patches. Pigeon are on the wheat where it’s a bit thin. No sign of combines here for a while I think.

Due to work i havent had chance to get some fresh birds, anybody down that way got 8 birds from today spare? would appreciate the help, don't want to let the boys down! Anybody Help?? Mr Wasp, Rape, well where to start! you will find pigeon will be suicidal on stubble, especially if your lucky enough to have the only field around, saying that with 2500 acres probably not. the problem is the fields are often big and the seed is scattered all over like pepper so you will see the whole field covered in birds if they are on to it. so as a previous post try to locate the flight line in and get under it if you can, take your time with the hide and get it well blended in maybe a scrim net roof if your under the flight line. use a rotary and a flapper if you have one, try a tick shaped pattern to lead the birds in and maybe a floater on the approach to give confidence, leave some good space between the decoys so they feel confident to get out in a rush. watch the dog on the sharp stubble sticks. hope this helps and thanks for the post. Arm3000gt Hi the main hall is on 2 levels with stands downstairs selling gear, Tidepool is normally there and decoy suppliers. its not a massive show and can be a bit cold so good that a lot of it is indoors. upstairs in the hall will be Chris Green and basc simulator. the Basc coaching line is there so pop down and say hello, i will be there coaching Sunday. hope you enjoy the first gamefair of the year! Was going to say that, be careful not to upset the new farmer, i would suggest you get a good hide well concealed( bale hide if its still there) where the flight lines cross each other. FB is right go where they go, but the next best thing is close to a flight line . if the wind is coming from the top of the picture then it will be crossing you from the left in the hide so the birds will land from the right, put a roof on the hide for the ones approaching from the rear/the large arrow. use a well spaced L or tick pattern short side along the front of the hide, the corner to your left as you look out the hide and tail the long side in line with the large arrow. This will encourage the birds to turn and commit. Rotary would help and a flapper, decoys a good 12 ft apart hope this makes sense and helps Best of luck and stay safe Flycoy
