  1. I haven't sold on the site but have used it loads to buy household items. Last item which was free was a Sony blueray DVD player, I wanted to upgrade, it didn't have the remote but after checking on my tv that it would play ordinary dvds as well, I ordered a remote from the bay, delivered £5.99. Brilliant bit of kit. Just a short list of stuff that comes to mind 1000 Watt Panasonic microwave £10.00 Billy bookcase £10.00 DVD storage case £5.00 Drysoon clothes dryer with all the extras £70.00 Happy days! Better than the bay as stuff is local and cash on collection. FB
  2. What a fantastic trip, your going to need a very big bag of chips to go with those! There are a few places in Scotland I believe that Skate go over a 100lbs from some deep water ledges (shore side). Think I saw some Youtube videos a while back. Here is one I have quickly found. (Am certainly not belittling Dave at Kelton magnificent efforts). Respect FB
  3. As ex Andrew I can`t remember when l have been so embarrassed as in recent months, our ships and subs have let us down. 2nd time Trident has failed us, they obviously didn`t want to try for another launch at a cost of £M17 a pop, possibly to save more embarrassment. Our new aircraft carrier couldn`t navigate beyond the isle of wight and had to be towed back for more major repairs, cost £B3 and counting plus a mine hunter backing into another, taking both ships out of commission. Thank G-d our men are made of sterner stuff in spite of our politicians. FB
  4. Interestingly I have just researched how many souls potentially could be accommodated on board and how many lifeboats are on board. There are only 17 lifeboats that can hold upto 450 people each (7650) That leaves a shortfall of 2300 people (Number of crew approx) When taking into consideration that maybe not all lifeboats will be able to launch, depending on the emergency, (In the event of a capsize maybe half the life boats could be out of commission) I am surprised that the relevant board of trade and the insurers have sanctioned this ship as ok with the numbers potentially on board. Even small boats in the UK taking tourists "Round the harbour or fishing trips" have to be licenced and have sufficient life rafts and life vests for all on board. Am I missing something here? FB
  5. Not got any issues as described, might be because I am using an ad blocker program? FB
  6. Read an article where a delivery driver was using a cheap bottle of vodka from a sprayer bottle to clear his windscreen on these frozen mornings, he also put some in the washer bottle reservoir to keep that unfrozen. Could use any alcohol in fact so if you have got an unfinished bottle of cheap stuff bought from some distant holiday in the past that you no longer fancy, jobs a good un. Same as using isopropanol, but easier to get hold of.
  7. Don't know if it will help but have you a restore point on your computer? Place a restore point on your computer now before doing any thing and if all fails you can come back to today. Go back to a date before where you think its failed and restore it.
  8. As much as I appreciate all of the contributors views on large bags and bird disposal etc I do feel that the thread has gone away from is original post ie "BASC response to HSE lead ammunition consultation" I feel that the Mods should sort this thread out and start another thread around the ethics that large shoots should employ. I hope that you all have had a very happy and healthy Christmas. FB
  9. I have used 2 methods, 1. rub over gently with a soft (Fine) brass brush as you would use on suede shoes. 2. Use a copper coin (make sure its an old one, not magnetic) and rub that gently over the rust spots with a little light oil. This is my prefered method. Wont remove deep pitting of course but either method wont remove the bluing/blacking. FB
  10. I downloaded AdBlock (Free ware) on my windows 10 laptop (I use Google as my search engine) and lo and behold it`s automatically shared across my Android phone, Tablet and Chrome book. No more adds or popups and can watch You Tube all night long without a single add or pop up. I recommended this to "Old Man" a few months back and he is delighted. FB
  11. Not for Pitcher plants or Venus fly traps then! FB
  12. Another + for Auto aid. Had great service when needed.
  13. Happy and healthy new year to all. I too find the festive season a pain, but I reconcile myself that there are millions of people worse of than myself, not that that makes it any easier. The older I get the more reason I have to be a cynical grumpy old ***. Keep your chin up, its easier for the Bast...s to hit you so you can turn the other cheek, then you f... them over! FB
  14. Yes please. PM on its way. FB
  15. When I worked with NATO (1900 and half past 4) one of my RAF colleagues was dating a RAF Steward. She worked at Chequers, so we spent a very pleasant afternoon being entertained there. I also used to go to the house of Patrick Fife of the Hinge and Bracket duo fairly often with my work, very nice chap. House now belongs to Noel Edmunds. FB
  16. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11181503/Ukrainian-pensioner-shoots-74million-Russian-Su-34-jet-RIFLE-awarded-medal.html I am no shotgunner, but I recon that he is showing a semi auto. I remain to be shot down just like the Russian Jet. FB
  17. Just looked at Lebara and they have a good deal that ends at midnight tonight and you can port your number. https://mobile.lebara.com/gb/en/best-sim-only-deals/c/simo-contract FB
  18. Was just looking on the Smarty web site and they support WiFi as standard, looks a good deal for travellers. FB
  19. Don't do it with a springer. Haha.
  20. I have sent him a link to contact you. FB
  21. I have for many years planted potatoes at the end of August /Sept, just smallish ones that have sprouted in the cupboard (big ones you can cut them up to leave sprouting shoots on). I usually re use a recycling bin filled with compost from the heap and just make sure they are watered in the event of a dry spell. My Father in law used to use 9" pots and we would have new potatoes on Christmas day! Good luck, FB
  22. I always get my eyes tested at Boots, no particular reason other than I trust the opticians there. After the test you should be given your eye prescription without asking, the only thing that is not supplied is the PD (Pupillary distance). This you can easily measure at home if you want to buy your specs online. I have used ASDA for buying glasses for years as they give you all the extras included in the basic price, even varifocals. There seems to be approximately a 2 weeks wait from ordering to delivery. I have never had a problem from them, my last glasses 2 months ago was £45.00 for varifocals in a metal frame and the same again with tinted glass sun glasses. Superb value £90.00 for two pairs of glasses. Spec savers give a very though eye test, they picked up a problem in my partners eye and she was in the eye hospital in hours. Can`t comment on their glasses though.
  23. I have recently had some new hearing aids (1st ones) and noticed a clonking from the back of my Octavia Supurb estate . Other half says it has been there for quite some time? Turned out that the bottom inch or so of rear coil spring had snapped off, though it was still lodged in the shoe. Repair effected and car is quiet again, even with the hearing aids switched on. FB
