  1. I would always invest in a proper spare, even a space saver.
  2. You can get the screen replaced for about £400. Seems silly to lose a car you know inside out and has no issues for that. I think looking online first for a repair cost before contacting your insurance on slightly older cars may be the way to go - obviously assuming it is just the rear screen
  3. I once spoke to a consultant that joked everyone with painful joints was wearing a copper bracelet. In regards vitamins if your body doesn’t need it you will pass it out. you can pick up half a years worth of once a day for a few quid. can’t do any harm can it

    Typing

I worked with a guy who could touch type looking at you whilst you dictated. He often finished typing the word before you finished speaking. spooky. he could also chat to you in general whilst typing his reports and maintaining perfect eye contact.
  5. I saw one of those wheeler dealer programs where they were getting older eastern bloc cars. they sent the shoes off to a company who relined them (I can’t recall the cost but it wasn’t a lot) The only other option is to take the hub off and see if you can grab a part number from the shoes. I find gsf and even opioils very helpful when looking with just part numbers. they will probably be able to tell you the origin to within a few models
  6. Funnily enough mine have just come though. I’m looking at around £125 increase on each motor. even shopping around isn’t providing and ‘deals’
  7. Are these old school pan chips that given a second will burn your house down. they look perfect. in the usual true spirit of these threads…………not sure of the devils procreation vomit mind
  8. A friend of mine had a parking fine (well his wife did) she ignored it and ignored it. In the end they said pay up or we will CCJ you. he took some advice and paid up. in not sure the ins and outs but that was the basic story he told us
  9. I do 32 all round. May pop it up to 36 rear if I’m towing or loading the back
  10. I would give it another look and just check that there are no bits of grit or an old seal on the end.
  11. I would bat back and ask them to locate you a car with the same level of equipment and roughly the same miles and you will consider that vehicle. failing that I would be declining their offer and going to the ombudsman. What have you got to lose. You certainly won’t be in a worse position. Also if you have a hire car that will also be costing them

    Heat pumps

Mate had an air source heat pump, solar and battery install as a package. he said unless you are installing solar don’t even think about them. He also has trickery going on where he will use grid power when it is cheaper rather than draining the batteries
  13. A lot of places are doing this. absolute joke. wouldn’t be so bad if they were actually well looked after and nice!
  14. Do you sell them or is it more of a hobby and for them to be displayed?
  15. You can buy it in a jar in home bargains ready to go. Hopefully your machine does hot water
  16. You could give it a go. Shouldn’t be too much trouble to change it back if it doesn’t work. give the wiring especially battery related a good check over for any loose connections and check fir hot wiring. Moving the trap and movement if it’s not rock steady may be causing issues
  17. Always remember to also check the tyre pressure on your spare every now and again. Nothing worse than realising your spare is almost running on the rim
  18. Shame but at least the boiler is sound. hopefully it will go as a donor. would be nice to see picture before it goes.
